My story is a bit of a long one, and I'm still going through it. I had been wanting rhinoplasty for about 15 years, I had a broken nose from an athletic injury an also wanted the dorsal hump reduced, and the tip slightly reduced as well. I just wanted it to appear a bit straighter from the front and to have a straight profile with a slightly smaller tip. I had a septoplasty done in the right nostril as well to help with breathing. I met with the Dr back in June and he had a very good bedside manner. His patient coordinator was very friendly as well, but she has lately stopped being friendly and has become cold as this whole process has played out. I feel so naive and stupid for not doing more research. They got me in very quickly and I had been waiting so long I was ready to take the plunge. I had my surgery done on July 30th and for the first month, everything looked great, with the exception of the underside, where the nostrils were very asymmetrical, but he assured me that was swelling. That's when things started to go wrong. A week after the surgery the cast came off and the nose looked great from straight on, but the doctor left stitches in so I had to come back the next day. I also developed a weird cyst where the right nostril and left nostril fused together. He is so scatterbrained and is always trying to get you out as fast as possible he was about to walk away when I said "hey, what about the cyst?" He then came back, cut my nostril away from the center and cauterized it. About a week later a wound developed on the inside of my left nostril that hurt really bad. I came in to see the doctor and he said nothing was wrong. The following week my tip ballooned up quite badly and was burning and red. Turns out I developed a staph infection and had to go on antibiotics for three weeks. During this time the doctor never called me once, his patient coordinator did email me every few days however, to make sure I was okay. A few weeks after that a small bump has now popped up on the bridge where the dorsal hump used to be. The doctor tells me to press on it ten times and day and that it should go away but it's been two weeks and has not gone away. My nose is now more crooked than it was before surgery, and a large chunk was taken out of my left nostril. Every time I try to bring this up I'm told "it's just swelling, it will settle" but I know I need a graft to fix that nostril. The doctor keeps saying I look great and brushing me off and if we have to do revisions we can come back in a year but I'm not comfortable with him touching my nose again. I'm currently looking for a revisionist surgeon at a massive cost and I can't get my money back, especially with the office ghosting me. read more

I will be more than happy to answer...:) Summary: I got my Rhinophasty done from Dr Jeffery Rawnsley on 3rd of Nov and I couldn't be happier. The results are spot on. He gave me the nose that i always dreamed of. He did the impossible. Details below. Background: I am asian and got a huge nose, courtesy of my parents. I first got Rhinoplasty done around 2002 but was so not happy with the results. I was told that being asian (Indian) my skin towards front of nose is thick and thus can't be fixed and there is limit to what they could do. So what came out was not what I wanted. I thought maybe there is nothing that could be done. So i started living with it. My Research: Fast forward 2020, I started digging again into Rhinoplasty. This time I started looking at before and after pics to see if there is any that matches my kind of nose and the results are great. During my research I found 2 such before/after pics. One was for someone who got theirs done in South Korea (capital of plastic surgery), and the other was someone who got it done from Dr. Rawnsley. I was not comfortable going to South Korea to get surgery done so i decided to book a consultation with Dr. Rawnsley. My Journey: Since we are in Covid times, they were offering virtual consultations. But i wanted to see him in person. So i flew into LA from SFO to meet him. The office, like others, was taking all covid precautions. I met Dr. Rawnsley and he asked me about my background and my expectations. He looked at my nose closely and said 'Yes, that can be done'. (i was like - everyone says that). But then he took me into a different room where he took my face photographs from different angles. He moved those into his computer and using a software showed me what he can do to my nose and after surgery how it would look like. The final result of the imaging software was amazing. I was blown away with the photoshopped image. I was like if he could give me that nose, he would be a GOD to me. I was sold there! The same day i had consultation with another very famous beverly hills doctor. This surgeon has appeared on 90210 show. During the consultation the doctor looked closely at my nose and asked for my expectations. The doc was like 'because you have asian nose/skin, there is limit to what can be done to the front part of the nose'. I showed them the before/after pics that i got from Dr. Rawnsely and said this is what i want. Their response was 'these are photoshopped images only but the end result would not be the same. I was kind of bummed thinking maybe I was oversold at Dr. Rawnsley. However, I decided to go with my gut and booked my surgery with Dr. Rawnsely. My pre-op date was Nov 2nd and Surgery was scheduled for Nov 3rd at 7:30AM. Pre-op Day (Nov 2nd): During this pre-op Dr. Rawnsley's staff member (awesome July) went through what all I would need after the surgery. She was a bundle of information and explained every single thing in super detail. They also gave me a package of 5 meds (all natural) that I needed to eat/apply after the surgery. She went through every single of those in detail. This was super helpful. Surgery Day (Nov 3): My surgery was scheduled at UCLA medical center (this is where Dr Rawnsley practices). I checked in at 6AM. Loved the facility. It was super clean and amazing people. A whole lot of nurses, doctors around. Made me feel in safe hands. On the dot at 7:30AM i was taken to operating room. I was out by 12:30PM and got back home (airbnb) by 1:30PM. It went by pretty quick and super smooth. Rest days from Nov 3rd till Nov 11th. My pain was gone on Day 3 so i stopped taking pain killers. Rest of the days were quite normal. There was some swelling on Day 3 but it started subsiding after Day 5 and by Day 8 (Nov 10) it was pretty much gone. D-Day (Nov 11): My cast was scheduled to be removed on Nov 11th. I was so excited and nervous to see the end result. Dr Rawnsely removed my cast, stitches and then gave me the mirror to look at. I was BLOWN away. I could not believe my eyes. It was EXACTLY like the photoshopped images. Now I have the nose that I always dreamed of. I am still healing and my nose would settle more over the next few weeks. But it is already PERFECT. I could not be happier......:))))) Once again - Thanks Dr. Rawnsely, July, Emma. I have had a couple of procedures with Dr. Rawnsley.  The first was about 15 years ago when he did my upper blepharoplasty.  It was a pretty simple procedure and results are still apparent.  Last year when I decided it was time for a face/neck lift I didn't even consider another doctor.  Jeff is a great surgeon and gives you a very natural, refreshed look.  I am thrilled with the results of my both of my surgeries and have recommended him to several of my friends.  I highly recommend Dr. Rawnsley. read more

Surgery couldn't have gone smoother, but I've never been happy with the results. I think my nose protrudes more now than it did pre-surgery. Within two months of the surgery the left side started to curve inward, so my nose looks bent, which was definitely never a problem pre-surgery. He said we could inject that side of the nose to thin it out, but I've always thought he over-corrected and made it too narrow, so thinning it out didn't sound like the right approach to me. I've tolerated it for quite some time, but I think I'm finally ready find another surgeon and try to get the nose I was seeking 7 years ago. I wish I had done more research back then. read more

Highly recommend Dr. Rawnsley. Do not go elsewhere. I had a plastic surgeon royally botch my rhinoplasty - in fact, the surgeon misinformed me and tried to do another procedure to fix it and probably made it worse. Essentially, I was left with an open roof deformity, collapsing cartilage on the entire right side of my nose, a tip that was uneven, and a perforated septum (a giant hole in my septum from the previous surgeon piercing it). I went to 5 ENT/reconstructive surgeons who all confirmed how bad my nose was and how difficult fixing it would be due to scar tissue. The final ENT I saw (who is incredible and my current ent) told me that the perforated septum was unfixable and I really could only go to a surgeon was really fixes worst case scenarios for the issues that could be fixed because of how damaged my nose was internally. He told me to see Dr. Rawnsley, as he believed Rawnsley was the only surgeon who could be trusted to not damage it more. Rawnsley's office was able to squeeze me in that week (I'm sure they could feel my panicking through the phone) The consult was so informative and Rawnsley took his time to go over everything. I walked out knowing he was the surgeon for the train wreck that was my nose. I was most nervous about post op. The first time I had rhinoplasty I was completely bruised and swollen for well over a month. I now know that is not normal. This time around recovery was so easy! A week post op when the cast came off I was not bruised whatsoever (Rawnsley said my nose was definitely swollen but honestly, it looked great and I had zero complaints) I am about 6 weeks post op now and am thrilled with how natural my nose looks. I went to Dr Rawnsley for a revision rhinoplasty and am so happy I chose him! I previously had rhinoplasty 12 years ago in London, at the time, I was really happy with it- the surgeon turned my crooked nose into a straight one, so I was thrilled. Gradually, over the years my face thinned out and my nose started to look super odd. It had a kind of dodo shaped beak at the end- it was also far more obvious from one side than the other. Fast forward 12 years and i'm living in LA, I started to really want to do something about it. That's when my quest for a revision surgeon came about. I researched and visited multiple 'celebrity' surgeons and wasn't keen on their manner or the way they did business. It was all about money, not the patient. Not to mention, a lot of these surgeons perform multiple different procedures, so it was hard for me to see any of them as rhinoplasty experts let alone revision rhinoplasty. After exhausting the celebrity circuits, I thought i'd start looking at reputable hospitals and their plastic surgery divisions. That's where I found Dr Rawnsley. He trained at UCSF/ UCLA and for many years has acted as clinical professor. He has multiple specialisms, but rhinoplasty is his thing! So, I knew this was the type of surgeon I wanted to help me. My first consultation was great, Dr Rawnsley was confident but not arrogant. He took time to listen to my (endless) questions, offered advice on what he thought he could achieve and wasn't remotely pushy- not one bit. I left with some photoshop images and a quote (which I should add was entirely reasonable given the market cost in LA). I took a good few weeks before confirming - again, no pressure from his team to make a decision. I booked surgery for 12/23 so that I could recover over Thanksgiving. I had lots of questions in the interim, Dr Rawnsley hopped on a call with me, took my phone calls....everything- he was fantastic and just what you want when you have anxiety about surgery. The day of surgery was excellent, you're in the care of UCLA so they operate like a well oiled machine! The nurses, anesthesiologists, nurse assistants were all incredible. I felt completely relaxed and well cared for. Dr Rawnsley also had his fellow join him on the day or surgery, he was equally brilliant and walked through some of the details with me. Dr Rawnsley came in just before the surgery, walked me through the details and made me feel super confident I was in good hands. When I woke up, there was no pain, little congestion and just the general drowsiness you experience from a GA. Dr Rawnsley came in, explained what he'd done (which was actually far more than just a cosmetic revision). Turns out, my last surgeon had done a pretty shoddy job and left my septum in a mess- he fixed it all! A true perfectionist! So, I can look forward to a future breathing clearly as an added benefit to the cosmetic change. The week of recovery was as you'd expect, not great due to congestion but equally great that I had no pain from the actual surgery. It's been 2 weeks now since i've had the surgery. I'm still super swollen but my profile has changed and when the swelling gradually goes down, it's going to look so pretty! I'm entirely grateful for the experience I had with Dr Rawnsley. I believe he's a Dr in plastic surgery for the right reasons. He wants to help patients, educate future doctors and is clearly extremely proud of this. I would definitely describe him as a Dr with morals! I know if I ever have any issues with my nose in the future, he'd stand behind his work and be there to support me. Unfortunately my nose changed enough to warrant TWO revisions. The first was minor and went well - no complaints whatsoever. The second revision was an absolute disaster! The reason we decided to go ahead with another revision was the bossae on the tip. This procedure was supposed to last 45 min - quick & easy .. at least that's what I thought. When I woke up from the second revision I was told my surgery had taken over FOUR HOURS! I was instantly worried & had a very bad feeling that i was not going to be happy with the results. I could see the very bottom/tip of my nose under the bandages & right away I felt an overwhelming sense of dread. I still don't understand what went wrong that day!!! A tiny fix to the tip turned into a very invasive surgery that changed my nose completely. I tried to convince myself that I just needed to heal and that I needed to stay optimistic. That was probably 5 years ago at this point. Unfortunately my initial concerns were spot on. My nose was destroyed. Since then I have spent another $20,000 to pay another surgeon to try and fix it. He is one of the best surgeons in the entire world and I'm still not entirely happy. I'm not overly picky & I don't think I've ever expected anything unreasonable. The most ridiculous thing is that after $40k, the bossae on the tip of my nose is still there! It's all incredibly frustrating and if I could go back in time I would never have had the first rhinoplasty. I wish I understood how it was going to change my smile and the overall look and balance of my face. I've decided to edit this review and leave two stars instead of one because Dr. Rawnsley is a really nice doctor/person and I think for the most part he is good at his job. Please be aware that his style is very natural!! Finding Dr. Rawnsley was a godsend. Being that this was my first surgery ever at age 25, I couldn't have asked for a more smooth, easy and comforting process. Last year (Late June of 2022), I underwent both a rhinoplasty and a septoplasty, and throughout the almost 12 months of healing, I was not fully happy with my results. A bump had formed on the bridge of my nose that was not there before, and my breathing was not 100% improved to its maximum potential. I knew I wanted to get a revision in the near future a year post-op so that I could correct my nose and restore my confidence. Dr. Rawnsley and his entire team immediately made me and my family feel so safe, calm, and confident in his work and in his goals for my new nose, both internally and externally. I am so tremendously happy that I found Dr. Rawnsley and knew instinctively to trust him with my operation. He was the fifth of five carefully researched consultations I did for my septorhinoplasty, and in the four previous ones I'd figured on going home after them all and weighing my options -- but on number five, I met with Dr. Rawnsley and I knew before stepping out of the office that I wouldn't need any further thought. He set me so completely at ease and gave me a perfect certainty in my gut that he was the one to trust. I was in such phenomenally good hands with him from start to finish. The recovery was difficult, but it's an investment I am so happy I made, as my breathing is now effortless and my nose looks fantastic (not a single person has even asked if I'd had anything done). I had septo/rhinoplasty with turbinate reduction done on 03/30/21 with Dr. Rawnsley. I've been wanting my nose done since I was a child I had a badly deviated septum and wanted my profile to look more feminine. I did a lot of research and consultations with a good amount of surgeons. I'm a 30 year old female. I work in cardiology and I am also a nursing student. I'm around Dr.s constantly. Dr. Rawnsley didn't try to sell me some story or make outrageous promises. He told me this is what I can do and what I can't do. He knew what I wanted but also gave me insight on what he thought would look better on my face. I trusted his judgement as he's been doing this for many years. I'm now 6 weeks post op and so much of the swelling has gone down and I'm loving my nose. I'm breathing through my nose for the first time in my life. It's almost difficult because I'm having to retrain my self to learn to breathe through it. I've choked on food multiple times because I'm trying to learn to breathe through my nose when I eat lol. Anyhow, he is a great surgeon. Word to the wise, during my search for physicians I constantly came across bad reviews about bed side manner and Dr.s not being welcoming so on and so forth. I broke my nose twice when I was younger but was too scared to get it fixed. I've hated my nose every day for the last 15 years. I had a huge bump and the tip of my nose pointed downward. A few years ago, my ENT said if I gained the courage to pull the trigger, Dr. Rawnsley was the only person she would send me to. The only question I'm asking is WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?!?! I was afraid of the pain or it not looking as good as I wanted it to. Even after reading Dr. Ranwsley's reviews and being recommended by other physicians, I felt I needed to do my due diligence and meet with a few other surgeons. None made me feel nearly as confident, cared about, or understood as he did. Dr. Rawnsley seemingly naturally (though I know it's experience from thousands of cases) knew exactly what to do, how to communicate his thoughts, and set expectations. His photo technology allowed us to mold a nose on my own picture that made me feel excited and less concerned about body dysmorphia. The morning of the surgery Dr. Rawnsley met me at my bay to review the photos and discuss any last minute questions or concerns I had. When he asked if I was ready to go I replied, "the only thing that will hurt more is hating my nose every day for the rest of my life." That was the understatement of the century! I had no pain, very little bruising, and lots of swelling. I only took a pain pill the day after surgery and then didn't even need Tylenol after that. I was able to return to work after five days. July, Dr. Ranwsley's assistant, had thoroughly prepared me for post op and gave me a list of tips and tricks for getting through the week after. She was always available for questions and, as noted in other reviews, is an angel. I'm only a few weeks post op now, but am already thrilled with the results. The bruising is virtually gone, though I'm still pretty swollen. Dr. Rawnsley has followed up weekly and has set proper expectations each time we've talked. THANK YOU DR. RAWNSLEY! Six months ago I had a skin tightening procedure on my neck with Dr. Rawnsley.. Weeks ago I went for a six month follow up, it did not change the sagging skin in the neck area. Very disappointing as this was an expensive procedure. However, Dr. Rawnsley is an excellent surgeon with a caring bed side manor. read more

As a sixty-year-old, I am cautious about anesthesia and surgery. I want to avoid surgical procedures unless they are absolutely necessary. I met Dr. Rawnsley in 2002 after a car accident. He performed three reconstructive procedures on my face. Over the years, I've returned to him regularly for Botox and Restylane injections. Lately, however, my age has been catching up with me, and the results make me appear tired and a bit frail. "Harmony" is the name of the game with Dr Rawnsley, and it's one of the things that truly sets him apart from other surgeons. I'd been considering a lower facelift and consulted with Dr Rawnsley who advised that including a neck lift would provide harmony in the overall effect. I trust Dr Rawnsley completely, but naturally as my surgery drew closer I was feeling nervous. On my last pre-op, I told him as much and he reassured me that I would come out of it looking like myself, but with everything smooth/the clock rolled back. That was exactly the last boost I needed, and exactly why harmony matters. Dr Rawnsley is an artist and a surgeon at the same time. He seems to really see you for the person you are and draw out the best of your features. I'm only a week post-op and already I could not be happier. There is no one else I would have trusted to do this face surgery. Dr Rawnsley is the best. I originally called this office because Dr. Rawnsley was on my list of healthcare providers through my insurance co. (This was 6 years ago)..... anyway, I needed sinus surgery (removal of nasal polyps-- oh what fun). I thought it was hilarious that when I called, the receptionist asked if there was anything else I wanted to have done. I was like "What?"...... She explained that this doc. started as an ear, nose, and throat specialist, but he is now a cosmetic specialist as well. There was a tiny area on the tip of my nose that I felt drooped a bit between the nostrils that my former plastic surgeon was too scared to do because it was so minor and working in millimeters can be kind of scary because if they remove too much, then everyone is in trouble. Most of my friends couldn't even see what I wanted to have done, but it was something that I thought would look really good if it was performed with accuracy. It would take a skilled surgeon to do exactly what I had in mind. When I saw Dr. Rawnsley, he seemed very confident and didn't even appear to think before saying "no problem"..... One might even say he came across as cocky. I was very nervous because he had not been referred to me so I didn't know enough about his work to feel 100% confident in what I was about to do. His name simply came up first when I did my search of healthcare providers in my area. My last not-so-great plastic surgeon was too scared because it required such accuracy. It was actually his mistake I wanted to correct. So, naturally, I was hesitant and went back and forth as to whether or not I should go through with the cosmetic portion. Well, the gamble paid off. The result was exactly what I asked for. I was amazed. My sinus problem is a recurring one and I was well aware (even before calling this office) that I will likely have to endure this surgery about every 7 years or so. This was already my 3rd sinus procedure (Prior to meeting Dr. Rawnsley, I had 2 other docs. in northern CA that performed the surgery). Now, I won't dread this necessary sinus surgery every 7 years because I will definitely add a little nip or a tuck everytime I have to go through this ordeal. Might as well make lemonade out of my lemons, right? I also thought the staff was informative, patient, and caring. BTW.... looking at the before and after photos on here, I wish I had gone to Dr. Rawnsley for my initial nose job. These people got much nicer noses than the one that I ended up with. read more

As the mother of a 17 year old, I was very concerned about the prospect of a rhinoplasty/septoplasty for my 17 year old. We were in search of a surgeon who not only performs a stellar job on the rhinoplasty but is also skilled in septoplasty. Another major area of concern for me was the post-op pain management. After we met with Dr. Rawnsley, he addressed all of the issues and our concerns. His demeaner and relatability to my daughter was wonderful, he took his time and patience to walk her through the entire procedure, explaining in clear detail all along. Needless to say, the surgery went amazingly well!! He performed both procedures WITHOUT an incision!! Not only does she not have any visible scarring, the recovery process was incredibly fast! My daughter doesn't' have a very high threshold for pain but aside from 3 days post-op of requiring some medication, it was pretty painless and she didn't require any further medication. The results of the septoplasty were apparent about a month post-op when she experienced much easier breathing from her nose. We are 6 months post-op now and the results are phenomenal. She doesn't have any visible swelling left and the outcome of the rhinoplasty is a very natural, appealing nose that suits her face and features perfectly. I feel compelled to write a review because Dr. Rawnsley did an extraordinary septo-rhinoplasty on my 21-year-old son. My son had a terribly deviated septum causing profuse bleeding due to a baseball accident. We were instructed by our ENT to "get it fixed." My son said, if I'm going to go through all that pain, I'd sure like it if they could fix my bump. So I set out to find the best doctors in town. After all, I'm in the entertainment industry and well connected, so that shouldn't be hard. Or so I thought. We met with many doctors, all of whom agreed that he should fix his bump and the tip. So I interviewed SEVERAL plastic surgeons. Many that made me run for the hills! How could these doctors be the best in town? So many of the noses were THE SAME. Why was Kim Kardashian's nose on every photo we saw? Don't get me wrong; she has a beautiful nose, but not on a man! One doctor wanted to take cartilage from his rib; another wished to inject fat. What?????? I just wanted his same nose without the fanfare. I spoke to my client, who told me she had her nose done, and it was so subtle that even her mother didn't know. I said that's the doctor for us. His office wasn't fancy, with no high-tech camera or whiteboard welcoming us by name. Just a good old-fashioned doctor's office. He did just what I wanted. Subtle and perfect. He is an artist and delivers on his promises. He took all our calls himself after the surgery. He was always available to answer any question and reassured us that all was good. This was my first major surgery, so to feel as relaxed and calm as I did throughout the entire process was a pleasant surprise. Dr. Rawnsley called me after my surgery to ensure that I was feeling okay and really make sure that I knew was to anticipate during my recovery. Dr Jeff took care of a serious problem I have had for a few years - snoring. If you are married yet torturing yourself and/or someone you love, this can be really serious. Sleep deprivation is also a serious issue, so Dr. Jeff is the place to go! In every way he was pleasant, professional, dedicated, responsive and awesome. The procedure was the 2nd time I had had it done and he did a great job. It helped me get back to being productive at work and to getting some much needed rest. He was very much the expert and carefully explained everything he was doing. His staff was exceptional as well - kind and courteous. Not sure what the one star guy is all about - my experience was completely the opposite. Whatever lies you are reading here slandering him need to be ignored. I am pretty frank and not the least bit ashamed to rip someone when they need it on the web. Dr. Rawnsley is a real professional - a credit to his profession. My business with the doctor has been spread out now over a few years - follow ups and what not. he is excellent. Strongly recommend seeing him - you will not be disappointed!!! read more
