I has…read moreimplants for ten years prior no issues just wanted them to fit my body more and sit closer together... Several weeks later, while traveling internationally, I began feeling extremely sick and developed worsening symptoms. Antibiotics were recommended/called in, but my condition rapidly escalated. I was ultimately diagnosed overseas with an MSSA staph infection that progressed to sepsis, requiring emergency hospitalization in Nice, France. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a documented fever of approximately 105 degrees and severe vomiting, and I ultimately underwent emergency explant surgery. I had drain placed and remained hospitalized in France for almost a while recovering. This was one of the most traumatic and frightening experiences of my life. Being seriously ill in a foreign country where I did not speak the language made the situation even more terrifying and isolating. In addition to the emotional and physical trauma, this situation also created significant financial consequences for me, including the original surgery costs, emergency ambulance transport, hospitalization and medical care in France, canceled travel plans, changed flights, and the loss of the European trip I had planned. recovery after this was extremely difficult, and I continued to seek medical care for ongoing symptoms and concerns after returning home. I understand that complications can happen with any surgery. However, based on my personal experience, I was deeply disappointed by the communication, bedside manner, follow-up, and level of support I felt I received during and after this medical crisis. In my opinion, the response did not feel as urgent or supportive as I would have expected given the severity of what I was experiencing. Separate from the medical emergency itself, I was also ultimately unhappy with my cosmetic results. I underwent a revision procedure and I paid additional costs for internal pocket revision work intended to improve implant positioning and symmetry. Despite this, I personally felt the final result appeared uneven, including noticeable asymmetry between my breasts. When I raised concerns, I personally did not feel that my concerns were meaningfully addressed or that I was offered a satisfactory path forward. Given both the aesthetic outcome and the severe medical complications that followed, this entire experience was incredibly disappointing and traumatic for me overall. This review reflects solely my personal experience and opinion as a patient.

My initial surgery was to correct a deviated septum, and since I was already going under anesthesia, I decided to do a cosmetic rhinoplasty at the same time. I actually liked my results for a while, but after about two years I started noticing that my nose was shifting laterally to the left. Over time it became very noticeable in photos, and it made me extremely insecure. I found myself avoiding photos altogether. In the beginning of 2026, I started searching for a revision rhinoplasty surgeon. This process was much harder than I expected because many excellent rhinoplasty surgeons do not perform revisions due to the complexity of them, and I quickly learned that revision rhinoplasty requires a very specific level of expertise. I'm currently 28 years old and about to get married in June, so the thought of going through a second surgery honestly made me extremely nervous, especially the idea of not even being 30 yet and having to do it AGAIN. I wanted to make absolutely sure I chose the right surgeon. Dr. Diaz is truly one of the best plastic surgeons, and a rhinoplasty is like trying to do surgery on a moving target. To solve for the final 1% of my concern, I was invited to speak to him for a revision in the future if needed. This is all to say, he is truly the best and while 99.999% of his results are all home runs, sometimes very complex noses (like mine) have a slightly almost perfect result and that is OKAY! I cannot recommend Dr. Andrew L. Da Lio highly enough…read more I had DCIS breast cancer and am BRCA1-positive. After my double mastectomy, Dr. Da Lio handled my breast reconstruction, including tissue expanders and later implant surgery. Dr. Da Lio's reconstruction work is truly exceptional. I was very worried about scarring because I had a breast reduction years ago and was never happy with those scars. His incision work is beautiful, precise, and seamless. One year after my first surgery, and about five months after my implant surgery, my scars are barely visible and continue to fade. Before choosing Dr. Da Lio, I had two other consultations. Once I met with him, I felt safe. He is kind, calm, professional, and clearly takes his work very seriously. During a frightening time, I felt seen, respected, and cared for. I was also worried about pain after surgery. The pain was much more manageable than I expected, and once I was home, I did not need to take any pain medication. That gave me so much peace of mind. He is an outstanding plastic and reconstructive surgeon, especially for breast reconstruction after mastectomy.
