The staff on the buses are generally much better too, albeit with a few exceptions however on such occasion the company are really good with formal complaints handling compared to First who didn't care at all. 3* - Ensuring great customer service across all drivers as well as cleanliness especially of the older-fleet and ensuring timekeeping is maintained and improved should be immediate improvements. I also do feel they could have launched with a larger amount of new liveried buses, especially compared to Diamond Bus North West who started commencing routes from First Manchester's Bolton depot shortly after Go North West commenced, in August 2019.

Stagecoach are one of the most reliable bus companies within Greater Manchester, although the…read morepresence in some parts of the city region is minimal compared to others, they have a great number of services connecting the city centre, with Stockport, Media City, most of South Manchester and of course running along the Oxford Road corridor, they even run a slow bus into Leigh (I would recommend using the Vantage buses if heading into Leigh as it uses the guided busway) It's a large bus company, odds are everyone from Manchester has used Stagecoach a handful of times, regardless of what part of the city you're from, it's the largest bus subsidiary in the UK outside of London in terms of passenger numbers, as they carried over 96 million passengers in 2019/20. With the exception of Burnley Bus Company, they also have the nicest buses which serve the city too, they've recently been spending a lot of money - Introducing green by name green by nature buses (eco-friendly and green buses) - New buses with their new 2020/21 lively - Updating their older buses with the new look/feel, getting rid of the really old buses and moving other buses on to other routes which haven't had newer buses for longer than others. The app is easy to use and track your bus at multiple stops, and their customer service is also improving, the social media handling is good in terms of updates regarding delays and other important information. I generally like travelling with Stagecoach, and although they're far from perfect with some services still facing some bad delays, they are improving a lot, I'd love to see them take over more routes as well as introducing more newer buses to avoid some areas being given the short-straw. 4*

The prices are up towards the higher end of what you normally pay but they aren't the most expensive. A weekly pass costs £11 at the moment which is pretty pricey if you need to get one every week and I moan about it every Monday morning and about how I remember it once being £6 but if I get a taxi even once instead of the bus it will cost me that and more so I can't complain that much! Day passes are £3.50 but that's just for a Stagecoach bus, if you get a £4 one (called a System One Daysaver) you can use a couple of different bus companies. As far as reliability goes, people are always going to moan but I know that the service I use is usually on time. Of course there are things that they could improve but they do OK and the drivers are usually fairly chirpy considering what they have to put up with so it's four stars from me Stagecoach. Bet you I'm not thinking that on Monday morning though!

The buses aren't too regular, which could leave a problem if you plan to return, on average timetable bus services can be as far as two-hours apart, which really isn't good even for a small bus provider, compared to the likes of First and Stagecoach who run services every 10-20 minutes. The buses were the single-decker old-fashioned type, there weren't too many seats either, and they were too close together and a little uncomfortable for my liking. The driver didn't seem too friendly, and he didn't shout me at my stop as I asked him too, infact he actually went straight past it, so I had to spend a few minutes working my way back which is pretty poor service. They serve buses all over multiple regions from Derbyshire to Yorkshire, and even including parts of Lancashire, I can't help but feel Hulleys of Baslow is looking at doing too much, most of the bus companies split into regions like Greater Manchester, Merseyside etc and there's a reason for that which HoB really need to realise. 1*

I'm struggling to fault The Burnley Bus Company, which is owned and run by Transdev, they do a…read morefantastic job of offering reliable, frequent buses in and around Burnley, an area which would otherwise be left behind and be an almost impossible nightmare to travel around, due to irregular train times and poor pedestrian streets/pavements. They are going above and beyond to fuel and support the passenger experience, which includes investing millions of pounds on brand new buses for the X43 - Witchway, the buses were already comfortable and impressive but they just had to do one-up on themselves, I hate being on buses for a long period of time, especially with their Manchester - Burnley service taking way over an hour, but they find a way to make that journey enjoyable including - A mini-library on the bus, where you can even take buses home and return them on your next visit - Free wi-fi, the wi-fi isn't too fast but at a time where most other major bus companies have removed it due to either cost or COVID reasons, the fact they're maintaining a wi-fi is great - Mobile phone charging, you can charge your phone here through the USB charging or even the wireless charging at certain tables - Tables upstairs or at the back of the bus downstairs, making the journey much more comfortable again. - Orange front of the bus and lights going around a bus which is predominantly black if there was a limousine version of the bus it'd be the Witchway. I also like the stop announcements which don't just announce the stop, but they also announce the route along the way, for example, it gives you a warning before the bus enters the motorway at Prestwich as obviously it won't be able to stop for a while until it heads into Rawtenstall, it also announces when arriving into city/town centres, I've also noticed this on other Burnley Bus Company services too, such as the Mainline services which connect Burnley with a huge chunk of East Lancashire including Clitheroe. The frequency of the buses is still pretty good, buses regularly run on-time and never seem too overcrowded, which is handy especially during the current pandemic, where many operators have cut their services down to a poor level. I also like how different bus services have a different bus lively, but they all seem to stand out and look good inside and out, buses are as clean as they can be, bearing in mind they don't have cleaners on board, another COVID precaution is cleaners getting on/off the bus to sanitise everything at stations along the route, on the X43, someone got on at both Rawtenstall (Mid-way point) and Burnley (terminating point). The drivers always seem friendly too, it seems there are idiots who work for every bus company who are rude, clueless or even abusive, but I've never experienced a driver from Burnley Bus Company to be anything but friendly and eager to help. 5* - Empowering East Lancashire, not just connecting them into Greater Manchester and parts of Yorkshire, but providing a comfortable experience with friendly drivers, all in all, a great company, I just wish they offered more services which served Manchester.

Trains run every 12 - 15 minutes but around the stations there isn't a clear enough guide where to stand to catch the bus and when the next ones going to be, at some point there seems to be only one bus running from one side, so you basically have to go round in a giant circle to get to your destination. I basically took the bus from the train station to the city centre and ASDA and I ended up going the wrong way, there was no clear map on which bus was best to use or what route I was actually going, so I felt worried and it certainly was frustrating at the route chosen as it always seemed to differ without warning. The buses as mentioned were quite slow, and overall they weren't really nice either, the first one was okay however the second was really old-fashioned and wasn't very nice. Overall, I think this service is quite poor due to the nature of the buses used, the timing and routes taken also apply and perhaps adding a charge, albeit a small one is what this service needs to make it something good and useful, rather than bad and frustrating, until then I sadly can't give Stockport Metroshuffle anything over a single one star.

Saying that tho most bus drivers can be very friendly and you can have a laugh with them. The prices are reasonable weekly tickets £11.50 and the Wigan dayrider is £3.00 and the day saver any bus is £5.20 after 9.30am but before 9.30am there £5.80.

It is clearly signposted from the road and has excellent access (controlled by traffic lights if heading in from B&Q side or exiting the compound) There are enough spaces for 920 vehicles, with ample disabled parking spaces located right in front of the bus stop (with ramp access down). There are even spaces set aside for larger vehicles, such as camper vans. However, if your vehicle is over 2.1m, you need to let the site staff know before entering the car park, and they will move the height barrier for you. The car park is monitored by CCTV and the control room is on site. They are also available for any queries that you may have. There are toilets on site. They are clean, if a little dated, but then is a public car park! The buses run frequenltly throughout the day (as early as 7am and at peak times running every 10 minutes), taking you from the car park to Piccadilly in the city centre in about 15 minutes. It drops you off close to the Jorvik Centre and the main pedestrian shopping areas. There are other stops available en route, such as Morrisons and Peasholme Green, but Piccadilly is the main stop where most people alight or catch the bus for the journey back. The last bus at time of writing, departs Picadilly at 8.05pm. The buses are clean and reliable with free wifi on board. The driver is (usually) very pleasant. The prices are good value, with an adult return ticket costing £2.80. That's not bad at all considering what you would pay in the car parks closer to the city centre. Concessions get a return ticket for just £1 each. Prices as of March 2015. .

Cheadle Taxis are a good taxi firm. They are reliable, always on time and all of the cars are clean…read moreand in good condition. The drivers are very friendly and chatty and very helpful, for example if you are going to the airport they will sort all the bags out etc. The prices for taxis are also very competitive. I have recently moved areas which is a shame as it means i can't use this taxi firm but i recommend anyone in the area who needs a taxi to the airport to use this taxi firm as they are the cheapest I have come across. A lot of other taxi companies rip you off for airport runs. Also another thing to bear in mind is they dont increase their rates after midnight so if you are on a night out and get a taxi back it is well worth booking with them rather than hailing a taxi down in the street.
