Found this on Yelp when I was in Ames on business. I ordered a Shiner Bock and was brought a Shiner Wild Hare. Talk about Hoppy! Ordered the classic 4 Meat Pizza and the sausage on it tasted like Jimmy Dean's. The Crust was similar to something out of a box. I can eat just about any pizza and can be considered a bit of a pizza junkie. I ate 1+ slices and they boxed it up for me. I found a trash can and dumped the rest. The delivery pizza is one of my least favorites, instead consider stopping in for a slice. Whether it be the middle of the night or for a lunch special, their huge, pieces of pre-made pizza are delicious. I personally prefer to fold a slice of Hawaiian in half, taco style. read more

Bread sticks are plain pizza dough, but very good with dipping sauces. Pizza excellent, but did get our order wrong. Asked for NO olives, but got olives anyway. Picked them off instead of waiting for another pizza. Would have been nice to get the bread stick thrown in since our pizza order was wrong. read more

Our pizza was to,arrive in 30-45 minutes. After an hour I called. I was told to call back in 10 minutes if it was not here. 11 minutes later I called and inquired about our pizza. The young woman on the phone again said its out for delivery... I replied with " you told me to call you back in 10 minutes if my pizza was not delivered"she said I was rude...and hung up on me. Never have really been a fan of their pizza. The ingredients are of poor quality and for the price you pay for a pizza there. You can get much better somewhere else. Dont get me wrong here, the pizza here is great but the lines can be long and prices are high. This is a more of a good place to go if you find your self craving for a huge slice at 1 am. I was a little disappointed when I discovered they had a pizza deal going on where I could have gotten a second pizza for free, but I ordered online so there was nothing there to tell me of the deal. Also, when I called they were out of the bread they used for cheese sticks, but they made a pretty tasty substitute. I loved the crust on the pizza, but we had the Gyro pizza, which tasted nothing like a Gyro and was covered in way too much cheese. It tasted more like a Philly Steak Pizza than a Gyro. I ordered over the phone and placed a delivery. They were an hour late, I called and then they tell me it'll be another 15 minutes. Another hour passes by and I call again. They FORGOT my order and used the excuse that they were very busy but yet they still charged me for the pizza. They said they would deliver the pizza right away and would give me a gift card as compensation. It took a THIRD hour to finally arrive, they still ended up charging me, and they didn't provide me a gift card like they said they would. They told me I didn't give them a proper phone number or address even though they asked for my phone number on SIX separate occasions. If that were the case, then how did they end up calling me and finding my address? Excuse after excuse with their staff and management. As I take my pizza I tell the pizza delivery guy that this was absolutely ridiculous before going back into my apartment building. The pizza delivery guy comes back and tries to break into my apartment complex in order to confront me in what I can only assume is for him to assault me. He then tells me to come back outside and I told him I would be sure to tell his manager. He said it is fine because the manager hates me anyways. I called the place back to reach the manager and when I told them I want to speak to the manager they told me not to "take a tone with them." I don't know where their employees get the idea that you can just treat clients like trash but they seem to think it is alright. When I finally got to speak with the manager for a third time, he just kept repeating himself saying "oh my gosh." Just listening to the manger you could tell that he had no control over his staff, that he didn't care whether I was going to be served that night even if I paid already, or that one of his employees tried to break into an apartment complex to try and fight a client because they don't like me telling them they provided terrible service and that they don't get to blame me for their incompetence. I've always had great service before but this was unforgivable. I will never be returning there. read more

Great pizza! This is some of the best pizza in town. They have many options, and serve other items such as smotherella sticks and salads. Their spicy sausage pizza is excellent. Very fast and friendly. The dinning area is somewhat warm in the summer. read more

My family and I happened upon Jeff's Pizza Shop. Saying it was good food is a colossal understatement. Every single bite took me straight to flavor town. I had never eaten here before today and now my life has been completely changed. I live 45 minutes away from this establishment but I will be coming back as much as possible. Jeff's pizza is at best mediocre. The pizza is really greasy and the flavor of the meat overpowers the flavors of the other components of the pizza. One plus is the huge sizes of their pizza's, good as drunk food. read more

Jeff's oven-baked sandwiches are the best kept secret in Ames. They are SPECTACULAR. My favorites are the Chicago Louie, Freckled Feta, Chop, and the Mediterannean....but you really can't go wrong. My favorite has to be the tomato and spinach pizza. It has a fresh feel to it and is genuinely delicious...even sober. If you're drunk, you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas. If you go to ISU, you go to Jeff's. read more

The pizza here is pretty good but I had a disappointing experience the other day when, for the first time, I tried to order delivery. The menu on their website says "fast free delivery" except for orders under 8 dollars, for which there is a charge. I tried ordering something for well over this amount and was told there was a delivery charge. When I pointed out that this is not what their website said, the guy on the phone said "well, the website's wrong". I was so put off by this abrupt response that I cancelled the order. I sent an email to them saying this is not the way I think somebody should do business, and got no response. It is now several days later and the menu on the website still contains the promise that Jeff refuses to comply with. I don't like false advertising and bad attitudes and will look for pizza elsewhere as a result. read more

I worked in pizza industry for 5 years, tried dozens of sauces, experimented with at least 60 different individual toppings and 20 different cheeses. Nothing I ever created was as good as Jeff's beef taco pizza (i think i had them add jalapenos to half). Words can't explain... The thick crust is not very thick but very tasty. Smotherella cheesesticks with toppings are a great choice for anyone, even picky eaters. read more

Pretty decent Pizza. I have only had their pizzas a few times over the last few weeks but it was pretty good. For me the down side is the cost. I can get something that is just as good but cheaper some place else. I also get regular coupons for a different resturaunt that I find I use quite frequently. I get a, sometimes small, coupon every weekend to save a few bucks and because of this I find I am not ordering pizza from Jeff's as often. Great pizza, for a slightly higher price. read more

S'allright. The appetizers are where it's at. The pizza itself is reminiscent of Papa John's before they started skimping on toppings and stopped fully cooking their pies. Like most things in Ames, the price seems steep for what you get. read more

I've eaten pizza all over this country, and I would say that by FAR, Jeff's is my favorite. I have had some pies from Jeff's that were... fair. BUT, what make's Jeff's amazing is the endless options that you have with the pizza. A lot of places offer the same sort of toppings, but the sauce choices in addition to the topping choices make Jeff's above the rest. Where else have you seen a baked potato pizza? Whenever I arrange to visit family in Ames, I purposely make sure that we visit on a Sunday, when we can order the 14" 2 topping and the 4 Bosco sticks for like $14! The best pizza I have ever had is a pepperoni and jalepeno with the feta sauce. The feta cools out the heat of the jalepenos. My one small complaint about Jeff's is that I have been less than satisfied with the delivery times, and I now only arrange to pick up my pizza, as it ends up being less.... sat out. Also, I order online to avoid any confusion with people who are taking the orders over the phone, as it always seems that I end up talking to someone who is in a very loud kitchen, and sounds burnt themselves... read more
