My experience here was great! I think the menu is pretty good and they've got a fair amount of gluten free and veg options. I'm gluten free but was still able to order quite a bit from them which is always nice! The ambiance was certainly initially the best part. It is small small small but so are most places in Milford. I like it. Keeps it from being overrun. The decor is very on theme. And I love how dark and moody it is. I'll definitely be back sometime. read more

We came here for the first time this evening and sat at the bar. There were four of us. It is absolutely amazing. We had drinks and to start we had crabby, toast, deviled eggs, crab bites, and cauliflower and mushroom bake. They were all fantastic. Bartender Jackie made us wonderful drinks, including the smoky old-fashioned. For entrées, we got pork chop, crabcakes, and the summer salad with salmon. This establishment is a whole vibe. The ambience in this establishment is so nice and aesthetically pleasing. The decor is so beautiful and I love all the small details they put in, down to the utensils, cocktail skewers and table light fixtures. Beautiful! The staff is very friendly. Brandy and Priscilla made our experience very enjoyable, with great conversation and lots of laughter. I practically ordered the whole menu and captured it on video and failed to take single photos so I hope these frames from my video do some justice. The baked Brie and the watermelon feta salad were our favorites for the evening. With drinks coming the blueberry lemon drop had us tipsy so we got some potatoes, skewers, Mac and cheese, spinach artichoke dip, and a charcuterie board as well because...munchies. Everything was fresh and you can tell they stand on using quality ingredients. I loved how the staff asked for our feedback on the food as well. 10/10 will be a regular for sure. read more

"This place is different," my neighbor told me. So, finally getting a complicated reservation, we were on our way. we had to share a password to get in. ( silly.) The place is so tiny my walk in closet is bigger. The sented candles were so overwhelming you probably thought thats what you were dining on the whole time. The table was so small it was laughable. The food has a mix of fruit in almost everything. Not for me thanks. And at $20.00 a pop for a drink , you would expect at least a normal size cocktail glass. I felt like my martini was a sampler rather than a cocktail. My wife didn't dare finish her tuna. It was chewy and actually smelled, "fishy!" So, hard pass for me but, if you like living on the edge, go for it. But remember, you've been warned! So, you didn't have sented candles, you had SOMETHING in there that was overwhelming! IT WASN'T FOOD. Sorry if I was rough but I call it like it is. And whats with the fancy water bottles with the city water in them? My fam grew up in the resturant industry. Best of the best. Guess I was to hungry by the time I got there. And your own weighter said to me that you had reservation problems that you just resolved. We visited Cured Plate recently and unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Kira was our server, and from the moment we were seated, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than guests. She was dismissive, argumentative, and consistently blamed her coworkers for any mix-ups--which were frequent. Every single thing we needed--water, condiments, utensils--we had to specifically ask for. Nothing was brought proactively. To top it off, when the check came, it wasn't itemized. When I asked for a breakdown (which, as far as I know, is standard practice), I discovered a 25% tip had been included without any explanation or transparency. On a positive note, the food and ambiance itself was actually very good. But sadly, the overall experience was overshadowed by poor service. I'd consider returning only if the front-of-house service improves significantly. read more

I do not ordinarily leave reviews but I can't imagine how this place has 4.7 stars and I wish that I had been warned before spending as much money as I did at this place. As another reviewer commented, she doesn't mind paying good money for great food. I'm the same. To say that the experience was underwhelming is the understatement of the century. I thought the ambiance was nice, the cocktails good but definitely overpriced. My biggest issue was the food. For our party of 3, we had the Smoked Gouda Arancini. 4 1-inch balls of cheese and rice for $14. No flavor. We also tried the Beef Wellington app. 4 1.5-inch cubes of flavorless beef and puff pastry with a horseradish sauce that was so stiffly unenjoyable that it didn't add to the dish's flavor profile at all for $22! I swear i found the same ones on sysco.com. My one friend ordered the salmon, which she said she enjoyed. My other friend got the pasta dish, which had a red sauce that tasted EXACTLY like Prego vodka sauce. Unimpressed. My meal came out after theirs. I ordered the tuna steak. I've had plenty of great ahi in my life and i sent this plate back. It was fishy! It was served with green peas and a sweet potato mash, both looking and tasting as though they'd been reheated, not made fresh with fresh ingredients. The service was fine, they were apologetic and told me that I must have just gotten a bad piece of fish. Mkay. As a replacement entrée, I ended up getting the grilled cheese sandwich, which was indeed tasty, but rather than freshly sliced apples with the cheddar cheese, they were the fried apples you'd get from a can. Again, not bad, but also not what I'd expect from a place where 3 people spent nearly $200 on 2 cocktails, 2 apps, and 3 entrées, one of which was...a grilled cheese sandwich. read more

Made reservations for 7:00 arrived to a surprise speakeasy entry. Place is very tight. Almost uncomfortable. We waited over an hour to eat although the food was very good but tougher to digest when I was angered by the wait and fear of moving inside restaurant which is impossible. read more

First time checking out this new spot in downtown Milford. Went on Saturday night and got in right before the rush. Drinks are really creative and all the small plates we had were good. We did a few of those vs a cheese plate. Couple things that they are still working out the kinks on, but to be expected with a new spot. Probably need to add a second bartender because all the drinks, while good, take time to make so it gets backed up quickly. Also, as odd as this sounds, we were served only forks (no knives) but found a few items I would like to have cut - stuffed figs were a 2 biter, and the prosciutto sliders could have used a knife as all the meat comes off in the first bite without it. Ambience is accurate to an era replicated speakeasy, you definitely get the entire vibe. Honestly, the menu blew us away; we actually thought they mostly served charcuterie, we were wrong! They have a FULL, large menu with many small plates, sides, and entrees - be sure to get the deviled eggs, brussels, flatbread, filet, and their MD crab cakes (best I've ever had)! You can absolutely tell they scratch made a lot of their food, and source locally. And, the cocktails, wowza! You only need 1-2 and you know you drink, drank, drunk. You can immediately tell they use top shelf liquor, and know a thing or two about mixology and the art of presentation.
