Stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed our experience. We were sat immediately and our drinks arrived shortly after that. The menu had more options than I expected and the food arrived quickly and everything was correct. The burrito was a decent size and everything seemed fresh. The hashbrowns were on the crispy side, which I prefer! The toast was a little too crispy for me and I wish they rolled butter on them like traditional diners. We ere not impressed whatsoever. It was a $46.00 Breakfast, two gravy bowls, a single pancake and two cups of coffee. The gravy is not a southern style, the potatoes so-so and the pancake was negative 5! Coffee was also so - so. I would not drive across town again to visit them. read more

We each ordered a glass of wine, which was reasonably priced @ $7- $8. My friend ordered the 1/2 bowl of soup & 1/2 sandwich. She said the Lentil soup was very tasty. Her 1/2 sandwich, IN MY OPINION, was lacking the meat. Very few slices. I ordered the a salad that was loaded with blueberries, grapes & tomato's, sliced oranges & cucumbers mixed with greens. Jelly Café was a wonderful experience. The café is very bright and clean and comfortable. It is not too loud. The food is made from scratch with love and everything was delicious. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with maple syrup and an oat milk latte. My husband had the signature jelly bird sandwich with pasta salad, and a tea. We split a homemade cinnamon roll, which was gooey and sweet and warm and all things delicious. We will definitely be back and would recommend jelly bird Café to anybody. Staff friendliness is epic. This has got to be PGIs best kept secret. Breakfast is amazing and you can have it for lunch as well. I have eaten here many times and I have never had a bad experience. The food was delicious. The oatmeal/old fashioned oats that I ordered came with two toppings - I picked apple and pecans. We had strong coffee, hot chocolate in cute cups while we admired the cute salt and pepper shakers. We were the first ones in so we got our order very fast. My son attacked his brioche French toast his extra fruit cup and his parfait. My husband loved his slightly spicy jalapeño and onion and pepper omelette. My baby loved his super fluffy pancake. Since everything came fast our kids did not get restless and accidentally break things. They did not scream and cry. They did not "go boneless" from boredom. Table for two- We ordered the jelly bird OG lunch sandwich and the jelly bird croissant breakfast sandwich with 1 pancake(small for $8!) and the menu states served with real maple syrup... The pancake came out raw and looking nothing like the photo in ad.. the syrup was the cheap corn syrup based not REAL like advertised. The croissant was so greasy it dripped, and I guess they only give you one egg that's all I got for $14 and they charged an extra $4 for their hash brown bake which came out as one measly scoop of grey mass.. yuck.. cold and no flavor. The lunch sandwich was cheapest deli Turkey and bacon for $15! The pasta salad dry probably not homemade. Overall disappointment: Low food quality Poor customer service Overpriced False advertising You will actually have a better breakfast cheaper at Wafflehouse. I especially loved that every table had its own, unique set of salt and pepper shakers (we had chickens, table next to use had flip flops)....its the little things. Onto the food - delicious! All of it. I had the jelly bird (minus the meat), my husband and daughter had it with meat and my son in law had the Ruben. They were all so good! She has a 2-minute monologue that omits that your check will not be itemized nor totaled (just a generic ticket).Hmmm? So as we walked out our breakfast for two total $50. They include the tip in your check so, not knowing, we tipped twice so 60 bucks for breakfast. Not having an itemized bill we couldn't see that we had been charged for an extra stuff i.e. a drink. Our conversation about the restaurant, while driving away looking at the reciept, had us shaking our heads as well as laughing. This place trying to squeeze every cent or buck out of their customers even charge you for CONDIMENTS (lol). Male wait staff look as grimy as their shoes. The home made biscuit... forget about it! Our female waitress was clean, polite, and courteous... This was just our experience and negative Nancy will have hers... We live just down the road from this delightful new gem and decided to stop in for breakfast before picking up yard debris Milton left behind. I don't know what I expected, but I do know what I found! The space is decorated with handmade wooden tables made by the owner( really nice ones I might add) and is just done well. A true family affair here and it shows. Our waiter ( the son) was engaging and personable. Dad was in the back giving direction as needed and mom was in the kitchen. You would have thought we were over at Aunt Betty's house for breakfast. The menu has something for everyone and my husband declared it was one of the best pancakes he has ever eaten. While I'm happy for him, I won this one! Get the breakfast bowl with hash brown casserole with fried eggs( 2, over medium is my preference) with bacon and ham!!!!! So dang tasty. The casserole was moist and flavorful, not dried out like most places serve. Biscuit was light and fluffy. You really did feel like you were at home. Punta Gorda, do give it a try.
