Travelling through Florida, I naturally crave a good Cuban sandwich. While lots of places offer "their take" on the Cuban, I am disappointed more often than not. THANK GOODNESS for Cas Rojas. Not only do they make a genuine honest to goodness bonafide Cuban sandwich delicious enough to satisfy a snob like myself, but they offer a selection of other goodies including coffees, a wide array of desserts AND fresh bakery items such as Cuban breads, ladyfingers and crackers. The lady behind the counter was extremely friendly and helpful, and really nice to my six-year-old and his "pet alligator" lol The restaurant itself is small but looks meticulously cleaned. Bathroom included.

Best Cuban sandwich I've had so far in SWF. Café con leche, espresso and cortado. Pastries as well. Eat in or take out.

Nice little hidden gem. These are the best places to get some legit authentic food. This place is a Cuban bakery with all types of pastries, bread, and some food options. They have a few tables but it's mostly a takeout place. I got the Cuban sandwich and it was incredibly good. Wow. Best I've had. It was Miami/Cuban style (shredded pork, ham, mustard, pickles, swiss). Pressed on the best, freshest bread. Wow it was good. It was HUGE. They have half a Cuban sandwich option so consider that unless you have a big appetite. They have other sandwiches too such as beef, chicken, pork, etc. Give it a try!

Split a Cuban sandwich and fries. Excellent!

Tried the guava and cheese along with the guava only filled puff pastries as well as a café con leche which were both good as anywhere else.

It's my understanding they recently got new owners, and the menu and prices have definitely changed. We used to love the cheap mimosas - and the variety of flavors offered. I saw online that their brunch was going to be available until 1 on the weekend, but apparently that has since been scratched off on the menu and their breakfast options are only available until 11. I did enjoy the adult iced coffee ($11) and basic mimosas/bloodys are currently $7, so not too bad. My bf was not a fan of the bloody Mary. The food items increased a bit to more FL standard prices (~$14-15) and the food was still just okay. As a note- They do Not have real syrup, just the log cabin stuff. Additionally, service seemed a bit confused and details from the menu did not match exact to the till so you may want to pay attention to the bill, these may just be growing pains that will resolve over time and we will try it again in the future.

Ok! I got dressed up and walked over there. My table was ready on time; it was in the lounge area of the restaurant. They offered me the table or said I could sit at the bar. I opted to sit at the bar. The bar was almost full but people were leaving. Apparently people eat early there. The bartender was swamped but smiled and got me a glass of water. Soon I had menus. I like that they have a regular menu as well as a specials menu, including the usual cocktails and some special cocktails. I ordered the conquest, which seemed like a twist on an old fashioned. They offered bread or focaccia bread, I declined. And heads up- bread service is not included. It's an up charge. Normally I don't care but I was having dessert, not bread. I had the halibut special. It was phenomenal. One of the guys from the kitchen dropped it off and asked if I needed anything'- I replied salt. I find that I need salt often at restaurants. They brought the salt out real fast! I had a bite and determined it didn't need any more salt- it was perfectly salted! Woohoo! Fantastic. I ate my whole dish and then I savored my cocktail. The bartender wasn't much for conversation , as she was very busy, alone, covering the entire bar and drinks for the whole restaurant. She did invite me to try dessert, and mentioned a coconut cream cake that was not on the menu. I agreed to it and it was heavenly. Seemed like cheesecake icing with fluffy layers of cake and subtle coconut flakes throughout. The chocolate ice cream was weird at first but then I realized it's like almond joy/ mounds - coconut and chocolate are often paired. The espresso crumble gave it a nice crunch and there was caramel all over the plate. Wow! I took the majority of the cake home. It was a large portion and indulgent. I paid my tab and finished my drink. I was not rushed. I would go back again. It's a bit pricey. The fish special was $58. The cocktail was $17 and the dessert was $16. So one person, who did not add on the bread service, was $91. It's expensive. I would emphasize you can probably get a seat at the bar if you can't get a reservation. Also- the entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot and not facing the main road. I got a little lost walking there. The signage is poor. I can't imagine going there the first time in the dark. So give yourself a couple extra minutes if it's your first time going there.

We sat at the bar and the service was quick and friendly. This time, my husband ordered the Bison meatloaf. Served over perfectly season mashed potato's and carrots. It comes with grilled Brussel spouts (which I don't care for) but they easily traded out the vegetables for another. No problem. The salmon just melted in my mouth and had a nice seared crisp on top. Add in a nice glass of Merlot..... and voila' ...... perfection. !!!!! The outside patio door was closed due to the cold wind, which was very nice. Our only concern was the noise level. Starting off with the ambience, the place is SUPER cute, decorated with a color theme I call "sherbet whimsy" with a smattering of smiling emojis. Our party of 6 was warmly greeted at the counter and immediately seated together. We started off with their delicious coffee, some hot & some cold...all excellent! The menu is fairly extensive for a breakfast joint, so the server gave us some good recommendations & said everything here is house made. Wow! OK... so we all got different menu items, and despite being warned about the HUGE portions...we could not have fathomed how large they are, but the prices do reflect how much food you're going to get! The breakfast burrito could easily feed four people. Our lone young male in the group - who might have a tapeworm based upon his ability to devour gigantic amounts of food - did his best, but could only consume about 2/3 of it. He said it was amazing, especially when paired with their delicious house made hot sauce. Two of us got two different bennie breakfasts, and raved about the hollandaise, the stretched "biscuits" & the fried chicken. Despite being smallish young ladies, they put a good dent in their meals. One of us got the outstanding corned beef hash, and thankfully generously shared with yours truly!! She could not eat even half of her meal, so I was glad to help out! :) The corned beef hash is not your standard ground-up version from a can. It is house made, with larger bits of potato, corned beef, onions & peppers. They get a perfect scald on it & serve it up with eggs & thick sliced perfectly toasted/buttered toast. My picky husband got the chorizo scramble with a side of fruit & really enjoyed it. I got the fantastic avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Everything was perfect... the thick slices of toasted wheat bread adorned with melted cheese then topped with very fresh & perfectly ripe avocado slices. I didn't prefer their scrambled eggs & should have gotten them fried instead, but it was still perfectly good, especially when dipped in their hot sauce. Thankfully my husband shared some of his fresh fruit, which was ripe & good. I dipped the pineapple into that hot sauce, which was delicious together. The place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The clientele were a menagerie from various demographics...retirees, blue collar workers, bikers, vacationers; everyone was pleasant & seemed to be enjoying their meals. This was one of the better meals we had during our trip, and definitely the best breakfast by far. It's so close to the airport, too. I'm so glad we got up early enough to be able to fit in a stop here before catching our flight home.
