This was an absolute GEM of a breakfast experience for us, and perfect to cap off our visit to paradise with a terrific last meal before flying home to our corn-fed midwestern life. Starting off with the ambience, the place is SUPER cute, decorated with a color theme I call "sherbet whimsy" with a smattering of smiling emojis. Our party of 6 was warmly greeted at the counter and immediately seated together. We started off with their delicious coffee, some hot & some cold...all excellent! The menu is fairly extensive for a breakfast joint, so the server gave us some good recommendations & said everything here is house made. Wow! OK... so we all got different menu items, and despite being warned about the HUGE portions...we could not have fathomed how large they are, but the prices do reflect how much food you're going to get! The breakfast burrito could easily feed four people. Our lone young male in the group - who might have a tapeworm based upon his ability to devour gigantic amounts of food - did his best, but could only consume about 2/3 of it. He said it was amazing, especially when paired with their delicious house made hot sauce. Two of us got two different bennie breakfasts, and raved about the hollandaise, the stretched "biscuits" & the fried chicken. Despite being smallish young ladies, they put a good dent in their meals. One of us got the outstanding corned beef hash, and thankfully generously shared with yours truly!! She could not eat even half of her meal, so I was glad to help out! :) The corned beef hash is not your standard ground-up version from a can. It is house made, with larger bits of potato, corned beef, onions & peppers. They get a perfect scald on it & serve it up with eggs & thick sliced perfectly toasted/buttered toast. My picky husband got the chorizo scramble with a side of fruit & really enjoyed it. I got the fantastic avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Everything was perfect... the thick slices of toasted wheat bread adorned with melted cheese then topped with very fresh & perfectly ripe avocado slices. I didn't prefer their scrambled eggs & should have gotten them fried instead, but it was still perfectly good, especially when dipped in their hot sauce. Thankfully my husband shared some of his fresh fruit, which was ripe & good. I dipped the pineapple into that hot sauce, which was delicious together. The place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The clientele were a menagerie from various demographics...retirees, blue collar workers, bikers, vacationers; everyone was pleasant & seemed to be enjoying their meals. This was one of the better meals we had during our trip, and definitely the best breakfast by far. It's so close to the airport, too. Amazing food and service. This place was recommended to us. We went here on a Saturday morning and found out we should have arrived at opening time. They have amazing cinnamon rolls we are told. Got here to order some to go with our meal. Someone had come in and bought them out. Now we did get some shareable donuts a chocolate, a lemon and a bacon maple. The lemon we needed to eat right away but it was still pretty good. Now I had the belly buster burrito, this is over 1 pound of food here, I had to take it home to finish. My wife had the biscuits and gravy with extra gravy for her hash browns and again enough for a second meal. Our son finished his chicken fried steak and said he was stuffed. FK your diet Punta Gorda. Heard so much about it so we gave it a try yesterday. Big mistake. Greeted and seated nicely. Asked for coffee. It came out but nothing else to offer to put in it but non-dairy creamer. YUK. We both had the biscuits and gravy meal. Gravy was very bland and the sausage chunks had zero flavor. I grabbed a biscuit and it flaked. Not a real biscuit, i think that they were Grands biscuits out of a tube and they were not whole biscuits they were 3 halves. The eggs were OK. The potatoes were nicely cooked but again very bland. $36.00 plus tip, to me seemed very expensive. Lesson learned, next time I'll make sure we have cash and go to the Smokehouse. read more

On a road trip with my husband, we happened to cross paths with this amazing brunch spot. Full of colors and very welcoming staff. Food was delicious . We ordered the avocado toast and French toast dishes, expecting the same we had at other breakfast places, including Naples area , and it was a surprise when we saw the presentation , tasted the flavor profile. We went there specifically for a well-reviewed Reuben sandwich and were not disappointed. I always look for restaurants which make their own corned beef in house rather than using store bought slices. This place fits the bill right down to the Thousand Island dressing. I came across FK Your Diet while in Punta Gorda for work. My coworker and I were caught off guard by the name and had to stop in. As the name states, literally say goodbye to your diet! Everything is homemade from scratch and the portions are HUGE. The waitress told us that about 90% of the customers always require a to-go box. The ambiance is extremely casual. It's colorful with positive statements on the walls. Their mission statement is to give back to the community, so every customer is assisting a family in need, supporting foster children, and those affected by Hurricane Ian. Stopped in here because The Waffle House was packed on a Sunday morning and this place had some tables open. Our server came right over with menus, coffee and water. We ordered. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Apparently, they only had one cook this day. And he wasn't going gangbusters in the kitchen. After our long wait, I must admit the breakfast was delicious. French toast, country fried steak with eggs and gravy, eggs with biscuits and gravy were all on point. They lost a star for the long wait. I'm hoping we encountered this restaurant & staff on a bad day in light of the positive reviews. Those reviews are over a year old. Waiting to get someone's attention, a frustrated young man in front of us asked a server setting a table for a large group that came in after us to help, as two other men left in a huff stating they were never served. The first server was very nice, explaining the menu, taking our order. We asked for 2 doughnuts- 1 now, 1 to go, 2 breakfast plates. The doughnuts never came, my husband's order was wrong. That was straitened out, doughnuts delivered after the meals which were flat & greasy; not a doughnut by my definition. The server never came to ask for refills, etc & we had to flag down a second server for the check, which was wrong. We were charged for extras we never received. Corrected, bill paid, & decision to never return. The food was ok, bacon was the toughest I've ever had! The place was so loud too- something the second server agreed was a problem. read more

Second time at FT Your Diet. As before, the food preparation was phenomenal, and portion size was exceptional. Our young server was inexperienced, but two more seasoned servers jumped in to make sure our visit was satisfactory. I have to subtract one star because I was a little bit disappointed. Since I don't eat meat, I ordered the Traditional Benny and asked to substitute the ham with 1/2 of an avocado. I was told there would be an upcharge! Instead, I asked for the ham on a separate plate, which I took home for boyfriend or dogs. A shame they couldn't do that one little substitution, because if I asked to hold the ham, as I did last time, they would have charged the same. We went to this place with no expectations. By the way, FK stands for Foster Kids! The owners of the multiple restaurants perform many philanthropic activities and a significant amount is focused on foster kids. They were instrumental in feeding people during hurricane Ian. Having said that, the breakfast is excellent. Each breakfast feeds at least two adults with good appetites. I had the traditional breakfast which included 3 eggs, ham or bacon, fried potatoes and toast. EVERYTHING was MEGA size. Also included were home made condiments such as jelly and hot sauce. NOTHING in this place spoke to fast food. They are open for breakfast and lunch. They have locations in Ft Myers, Punta Gorda and Cape Coral. All family owned. Servers are just as friendly and responsive as the food is great! Everyone needs to make a trip to this place. Let's support our local businesses. read more

I got a super Yummy cinnamon/sugar . Damn thing melted in my mouth. Oh My! Hey and the coffee is good and strong. No burn taste you get a lot of places. I ordered the Homemade corned beef Hash. Has to be the #1 that I have had. (Including my own). If you like CBH, this is a must. Came with 3 eggs. For Pete's sake, I couldn't finish it! We are a group of 3 and remember this is made to order. We started with the dessert first so we got 3 Doug-hes a maple bacon, chocolate and a lemon. Talked to the waitress and decided to get these to go. For the main course I order their breakfast burrito with sausage and mushrooms and eggs and potatoes are included. This is a pound of food and I got thru half. Side note there is a challenge to eat this in one sitting. My wife had their full biscuits and gravy it also came with eggs and country potatoes. She barely got thru half. I do suggest to order get a side of gravy to cover everything else. My son got the country fried steak that also came with eggs any way and country potatoes. Now they were out of the cinnamon rolls which we wanted to try and found out you needed to be here early on the weekends. Now the service was slow but it is worth it. Stopped in for a mid morning breakfast and was able to sit down right away without any wait on a Saturday morning. Did some reconnaissance on the menu and was happy to see some tasty meals. As soon as we sat down, we were asked for our drink order and the coffees were at the table in no time. For a breakfast place, this is always a win in my eyes and a 5 star place can easily turn into a 4 star if the coffee wait time is unreasonable. Our party of three ordered the Biscuits and Gravy (Scratch-made all day long, not from a can like those other places! fresh jimmy dean sausage gravy served over fk flaky biscuits and fried potatoes, topped off with two eggs any way), the Cinnamon Roll (You will have "Dougabetes" after this decadent hot cinnamon roll covered in our homemade warm cream cheese frosting), and the Belly Buster Breakfast Burrito (One pound or more! burrito made with your choice of sausage, bacon or chorizo, scrambled eggs and fried potatoes & cheddar cheese on a 14" tortilla, bring on the veggies! Add more pizzazz to by adding fresh veggies (onion green pepper, tomato, mushrooms, avocado, spinach, jalapeño to you burrito for an additional charge.) You can dial up the heat on the burrito. This place is AWESOME! We stopped here around 1:30pm on a Monday afternoon. It had quite a few people seated. We were greeted quickly, and our server (Jen) was lovely. She was new and treated us like great friends who she had known forever! The menu was on the smaller size, but HOLY PORTIONS. They were HUGE. I'm super picky about chicken and waffles, but I saw it on the menu and had to try. I loveeeeeeed it!! I also tried some of their strawberry butter on the waffle and it was so sweet and flavorful. Next time, I would definitely want to try the grown up grilled cheese because two people in my group ordered it and it looked amazing. Leslie and the hostess were also great to us during our visit.
