Amazing! I absolutely would recommend this place! We got the MGK's wife, painkiller, margarita, and chocolate martini, for food we got the crispy cauliflower and steak frites, and everything was absolutely delicious! This is the second time I have been to JEM Social. The ambiance is perfect for a date night spot. Attentive wait staff are more than happy to make recommendations. I love IPA and they have a wide selection to choose from. Unfortunately there is not tap service which I'm fine with. The food is unbelievably wonderful. So far I have had the mussels, which were the best I ever ate. The truffle fries with parmigiana are delicious and the beef tataki was different but very tasty. The star of the show is the shrimp and grits. The grits are more like a polenta than a bowl of grits. So good that it has become my go to dish over anything I have eaten in Myrtle so far. So much to like but one flaw! We sat at the bar for a few brilliantly made cosmos and mojitos served by the charming Cali. Shared the waffle fries topped with bacon and cheeses which was very good. The owner did zero planning for this buffet event. Couldn't even get a cup of coffee. Lots of choices in Myrtle Beach this shouldn't be one of them. Our favorites were the watermelon salad, Shishito peppers, ahi tuna tacos, fried deviled eggs, and ceviche. They have a large selection of local craft beer and cocktails. The bar keep was knowledgeable with suggestions based on individual prefrences. I don't drink often, but my drink recommendation, 'naked and afraid', was wonderful. Inside ambiance was fun as there are plenty of group seating options as well as a long bar for mingling. If you have a large group plan to arrive earlier to be able to have your choice of seating as it gets busy later in the night. I've been here several times with my friends. Unfortunately the staff did not live up to expectations. We were enjoying casual d to the rinks and light snack slightly over priced. However, while our waitress was polite, another staff member (bald, tatted, muscular, and apparently arrogant with his tats and facial hair) was exceptionally rude to my friend while here. My friend asked a simple question to the server mentioned here. He was exceptionally rude in answering the question, then I observed him make jokes behind the bar with his staff colleagues. It's a shame the staff was so disrespectful. I wanted to continue liking this place in Myrtle. I could tolerate the over priced drinks and food. But the disrespect was intolerable. Update: I left the original portion of this review while at the establishment. I don't often leave reviews. It's only at the extreme ends of the spectrum, I either love a place a lot or I was extremely... EXTREMELY... disappointed. The aforementioned server came over to our table to verbally defend himself and his behavior while we were here. I could not believe such a disappointing occurrence would happen. And for the record... HE WAS NOT OUR SERVER!!! His defense was it was "funny and his brand of humor" but my friend who was disrespected... has been here is a regular and has spent at least 4 figured collectively at this establishment. It had good flavor, a bit tough though. Cheeseburgers was fantastic, maybe a bit salty but still very good. I would almost equate this to a tapas place - with pricing higher than it should be... The food is really good. If it was on taste alone, this is a 4 star place, maybe a 4.5... As for the food, the salmon was cooked perfectly. It was really good, but at $25 without a true side compliment (has a small tomato arugula mix added), value is just ok. The calamari at $15 is not worth the cost. It's an app and half the size of other places you will order from. The Parmesan fries were soggy. They were only $8 but can't recommend them. The handhelds are also $15 - need a different side than just corn.. Taste is great but lacking portions at the price. Nice little place and quiet. Service was ok, no issue on her part. My salmon came out before the others. Approx 5 mins before the other 2 dishes came out. The Blue Hawaiian drink was fantastic. The New York sour is a pass. Wasted $15 there. Glad we tried it for sure - if we go back, we will skip the apps and try a couple different main dishes. Would definitely get the Blue Hawaiian again. read more
