It sits in Blakeney Town Center amongst all the other shops. There's plenty of parking and outdoor seating whether you want to sit in grassy area directly behind Jeni's or in front of Jeni's. The staple flavors are always available but this time I got the tropical bloom along with the brambleberry crisp on a waffle cone. The service here is always quick and efficient. The store was bright and light, and the containers of ice cream all looked wonderful. I thought the scoops were small and a bit pricey. 2 orders of ice cream came to $12.50. I liked Jeni's! The flavor combinations are fun and interesting. The ice cream has more of a custard or gelato texture to it. It melted SO fast. By the time we walked outside to snap a picture and sit down, my ice cream was melted. A few bites in, and it was milkshake texture. The couple of bites I had of ooey gooey butter cake were absolutely delicious. The summer special they're running was really tasty including strawberry jelly and whipped cream. We stopped in for a treat while running errands today. It was my first visit to ANY Jeni's and first time trying their ice cream. The shop is located close to Brixx pizza, the fountain and little playground in the shopping center. My husband was outside waiting with our dogs and I did not pay attention to I'd there was any seating inside. (It's a very small space inside.) Outside there is a long bench in front of the shop and a handful of 2 person bistro tables. If you cross the narrow street, there are plenty of tables near the fountain and playground. Now for the ice cream! I knew I wanted to get a trio ($6.95) so we could try multiple flavors. I went with Boozy Eggnog, milk chocolate and white chocolate peppermint. Neither of us drink eggnog but we LOVED it in the ice cream version with the hint of Tennessee whiskey (according to the super nice guy that helped me). That was our favorite flavor. My next favorite turns out to be one that I sampled but didn't get...nondairy Texas sheet cake . Next time I'm getting a scoop of that one with its fudgy cake pieces. My husband really liked the milk chocolate flavor but I only thought it was "ok". The white chocolate peppermint was delicious and not excessively minty. Ooooh and they give you a waffle cone wedge in the trio and holy moly that thing is THE BEST waffle cone I've ever eaten!! I don't know if they use a little browned butter in it but there is just more depth of flavor than typical waffle cones. Next time I'm splurging on the calories and getting my ice cream in a waffle bowl! They have waffle cones, waffle bowls, and regular ice cream cones. The guy was so patient and I tried 3 flavors before deciding. He would have let me try more but I didn't want to be a pain in the butt. I could have gladly tried all of them!! (12/16/22) First impressions are that Jeni's is a throwback from days gone by. It is very unassuming on the outside, lots of glass. Inside is a store length freezer for the ice cream and a long bench with a few chairs. That's where I'm seated now. There's also outdoor seating and I'm sure there are people walking around the mall with ice cream. The flavors that I chose were coffee with sugar and cream, pistachio macaron and boozy eggnog. The coffee flavor is very coffee oriented. It's not as sweet as one may think. I consider that to be a blessing. Its so hard to find flavors that aren't overpowered with sweetness. The pistachio macaron taste like pistachio cream in a gingerbread macaron! Again not a lot of sweetness. The pistachio and the macaron flavors compliment each other nicely. The boozy eggnog paired really well with the coffee. It was smooth and creamy without the heaviness that eggnog usually presents. Altogether it was a great trio. The ice cream is also very dense and doesn't melt easily. It gave me time to enjoy the waffle bowl that it was served in. I didn't realize this location existed until we passed by after dinner and were pleasantly surprised. I have visited another location and the experience wasn't as good as this location. The staff were all very nice and helpful. They are very patient with each customer letting you taste the different flavors and not feeling rushed. That might be different when its summer and busier. The ice cream is good overall. The appeal is more of some of their unique flavors. I ordered a waffle cone (one of the best I've had) and the double dark chocolate. Lines can be long, but it moves quickly and smells incredible. My favorite ice cream is the Gooey Butter Cake, but the Brambleberry Crisp is a cloooooose second. It's in a large shopping center which is super convenient in case you need to do a little window shopping too. Parking was easy, but I bet when it's really busy it might get difficult. She allowed me to sample three flavors, Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, and Lemon Bar. After chatting for a while she recommended me to download the Jeni's app. I really appreciated the suggestion and created me account so that it's ready for my next visit. I love ice cream with chunks and pieces in it. I ordered a waffle bowl with my favorite, Gooey Butter Cake and Brambleberry Crisp. The Gooey Butter Cake is Cream cheese ice cream layered with crumbles of vanilla cake and a swirl of caramel-butterscotch sauce. I love the crumbles of cake and butterscotch sauce, YUM! The Brambleberry crumble is an oven-toasted oat streusel with sweet-tart brambleberry jam of blackberries and blackcurrants layered throughout vanilla ice cream. I really loved the berry flavor. All was calm, all was good. ...And then it got more expensive, and the ice cream slowly got worse. It's still somewhat good but my family would rather go to Tifa's, a gelato place, or the Local Scoop, another ice cream place, both of which are a bit farther away, because their desserts are better in terms of price And quality. It's gotten to such a point that my dad wants to manage and open a Bruster's in a location that Jeni's is planning to open near so he can compete with it, just because he thinks it's much better. He has never managed any food places before, but as someone who literally went to a Bruster's yesterday, I agree with him. If your ice cream is so bad that locals want to drive more than double the distance to go to another place, I'd say that your ice cream needs to be better." read more
