And now, a few months out from when I took the class and got my license, I can say with absolute confidence that Coach Eddie and the staff at coach Al's driving school went above and beyond to set me up for success. Tough but fair and caring, they made sure we were ready to drive with confidence in ourselves and our abilities. Whenever I drive I think of the lessons and advice coach gave us and know that I'm a better driver for it. I can't recommend them more, especially if you're an adult learner.

People paid for the class, and you need to provide your service in a timely manner. By the way, if you can't complete your seven driving lessons in a year, you will need to pay extra money for each lesson. That's right, they delay the scheduling so that you won't be able to complete your lessons, and you will end up paying more.

When I called to ask why this fee wasn't included, the instructor told me it was on the website (it is not), then hung up on me saying he "didn't have time for this." When I picked up my son, I asked him in person to show me where this fee was listed. He refused, became aggressive, yelled at me, called me a "fucking bitch," and charged toward me. This behavior is completely unacceptable. Between the hidden fees and the aggressive conduct, I would strongly advise other parents not to use this place.

The school focuses on community service, equality, tolerance, peace, and a global perspective. The teachers teach and talk "up" to the kids (not down). Beyond incredible academics, the kids do the most amazing things, from learning musical instruments and music, to writing their own plays and creating the sets and costumes, to learning about the local eco-system, to learning organic gardening, to learning to give back to the community through multiple events throughout the year (we sponsor families in need during the holidays, recently volunteered as families at a local food bank, and do a food drive in the fall). The kids come away from Cottonwood not only light years ahead of their peers in all academic disciplines, but they also come away with an open-minded, global perspective, the ability to empathize, to control their own actions and reactions to the world, and to be clear and confident about who they are no matter what is going on in the world around them. The buildings are a bit less than stellar (nothing like a fancy school with a big endowment), but I like it that way because the focus in on the quality of the education and of the community, not on status or prestige. That said, the school has a very high percentage of kids that get into the top middle and high schools in the area. If the buildings were fancy, I think it would attract a very different kind of parent. For his last driving lesson, we received a call saying the instructor was sick and the appointment needed to be rescheduled yet again. At this point, I had enough. If this had been the first or second time we had scheduling problems, it wouldn't have been an issue. They are both walking encyclopedias and know so much about the land and its history. Meanwhile, drilling me to hold my lane on mountainous curves to "sacred lands" and Seeing very far ahead of me to make lane changing decisions on the highway. Lisa made sure I understood everything! She made signaling a habit. She made me change lanes on the highway continually, until it felt second nature. She told me, "You will pass the New York City Drivers test. And within 2 months of getting my permit and not knowing how to drive, I passed. I told her, I don't just want to pass. I want to be safe enough to drive my son. Teach me that. When I'm driving on the highway, I always hear Lisa's voice - change to the middle lane, an accident on the shoulder. Take your foot off the gas on the curve, get out of his blind spot, maintain your lane. You see Lisa, you're still always keeping me focused! The gal told me she would call me back that day. No call. I tried calling. Again no answer. I ended up driving back on Thursday morning only to find the only time she could do the test was Sunday. We came back on Sunday and the instructor just filled out the paper work and gave it to us. But apparently that couldn't have been done on Wednesday??? Now I'm at the mvd Monday afternoon and premier hasn't even been bothered to put the info into the system so she can get her license. The lack of communication is ridiculous. I definitely do NOT recommend premier and will not be taking any of my other kids there for driving "school".
