It's been almost a year and I always think about how great my delivery experience was with Dr Broad! I'm so happy I went to her for my pregnancy (more babies to come) Every check up was attentive and we did all the scans and blood checks necessary to make sure everything was normal. My baby was breached so we had a planned C-section. The whole process went incredibly smooth and quick. Dr. Broad is very caring and she tries to help as many patients as she can. I appreciate her so much!!

I can not recommend Dr. Broad enough! For years, I was told that I would never conceive naturally and would have to do fertility treatment. Dr Broad was the first doctor who listened to me and gave me a natural approach to reverse PCOS and have kids naturally. She is extremely knowledgeable, took her time with me at every appointment, is very kind, and truly changed my life! I listened to everything she said, and the first week of trying we got pregnant! I delivered a healthy baby boy a few weeks ago with Dr Broad and it was the absolute best experience. I fully trusted her and felt at ease in the delivery process, and it went seamlessly. I can not thank her enough. I moved and still drove a few hours each appointment to see her... she is SO worth it. I don't just feel like a patient there, I feel like family. Also- her entire staff are so helpful and intentional- especially Rosey and Jonathan. Truly a great experience!

Dr. Broad holding my miracle baby

Dr. Broad and her team (everyone from reception to billing) were there from the very first moment to the very last. They knew me by name, were very attentive/informational/welcoming with my husband and I as first time parents, and were especially kind when it came to being mindful and cautious of my medical trauma. Every step of my pregnancy and birth was collaborative, and they really watched out for me. They were super vigilant of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and my mental health. I went from being told by other providers I would never have children, to conceiving naturally and having Dr. Broad be the one to deliver my baby herself. She does it all, and you'd never know it with how humble and approachable she is. This practice saved my family's life and future

She is compassionate, efficient, knowledgeable, and joy to visit, which I say a lot when you consider that no one likes going to the OB/GYN. I like how good she is with explanations and I never feel rushed. She can also do other procedures, such as laser rejuvenation. I love how good attack the office is as well - they are on top of things, they have a portal, they do telehealth and there's no issues that I've had with that either. They are located conveniently to the other medical buildings in Newport. If I have to go to the OB/GYN, might as well get some beach time or yummy food lol.

Lastly, their patient portal is very convenient, and Dr. Mahller answers questions through the portal extremely quickly, which has been SO helpful and appreciated!

I had no problem with his accent. That is all for the positives. *If you value your healthy reproductive organs, be warned. This doctor seems a bit too eager to part you from them.* Despite no other patients, I waited a very long in the waiting room and again in the examination room. This gave me the opportunity to closely observe that his examination room was dirty, with dusty equipment, old dust on devices, between buttons, in corners. After sitting through all that, I was handed consent forms for an invasive biopsy without proper explanation. I protested. Only then the doctor came in and informed me he was diagnosing me with adenomyosis, just off a general ultrasound ordered by my PCP. He immediately pushed for a hysterectomy. When I said I still wanted children, he discouraged me heavily, saying I would have a hard time conceiving and then carrying a healthy pregnancy given my age (40) and the condition of my uterus. When I said my prev pregnancy was a quick natural conception and easy, he brushed it off as a fluke. Dr. M. kept pushing hysterectomy, telling me how skilled he was at performing it laparoscopically. I left the office confused. When I later requested an MRI (the gold standard for this diagnosis), it showed no indication of adenomyosis. The office still pushed for surgery, so I cut contact. Two years later, after unrelated surgery, pathology confirmed my uterus was completely healthy and capable of pregnancy. Dr. Marinescu's rushed diagnosis and mistaken pregnancy prognosis (the claim I couldn't not conceive) was a factor in my decision to include hysterectomy in my other procedure - a decision I now regret. To make a long story short: Dr. Marinescu pushed unnecessary sterilization surgery. His office was dusty. Stay away.

He was my second opinion…read moreafter I was diagnosed with a massive 14 cm dermoid cyst on my left ovary -- which had doubled in size during pregnancy -- along with a new, smaller cyst on my right. My original surgeon panicked, telling me he could no longer perform the surgery laparoscopically, that it would need to be open surgery, and most devastating of all -- that saving my left ovary would not be possible. As a brand new mom with a 3 month old hoping to grow our family, this sent me into a spiral of fear and heartbreak about my fertility. Dr. Marinescu was the complete opposite: calm, compassionate, and confident. While he was realistic that there were no guarantees, he believed there was a good chance he could save my ovary and even do so with robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery. After days of tears, the moment I met him, I felt a sense of peace. I knew I was in the best hands. My experience with Dr. Marinescu and the entire Hoag Hospital system was nothing short of exceptional. I never waited more than 10 minutes for any appointment, lab, or scan. Everything was organized, smooth, and patient-centered. The surgery prep was seamless, the staff were warm and reassuring, and I went into the OR feeling truly cared for and at peace. When Dr. Marinescu came out to tell my husband that the surgery had gone great -- and that he had saved both of my ovaries -- my husband literally cried. It was such a relief that this was all behind us. My only regret is that I don't live closer so that Dr. Marinescu could be my OB for future pregnancies. We live in Ventura County and gladly traveled the distance because we knew this was the doctor we could trust with something as precious as our fertility. Thank you so much, Dr. Marinescu. My family and I are so SO happy that we found you and trusted you with this surgery!!! Brianna

DO NOT GO HERE A…read morecouple of weeks ago, I called to schedule an appointment for my first prenatal visit. Before booking, I specifically asked if they accepted my insurance, and they told me they did. When my husband and I arrived for the appointment today, I asked the receptionist to once again confirm that they accepted my insurance. She checked, then even called someone else to verify. After confirming that they did, I paid my $50 copay. We sat down to complete the paperwork. About 15 minutes later, another employee came out and asked to speak with me. She informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I was shocked and explained that I had now been told twice that they did. Her response was that "it's hard to tell" and that "we can't always know." I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. The fact that a doctor's office "can't always know" if someone's insurance is accepted is absurd. Verifying insurance coverage is a basic responsibility of a medical office. The fact that it's "hard to tell" for the very people whose job it is to verify whether they accept your insurance is ridiculous. It is literally their job to know how to confirm this. These statements do not inspire confidence in their ability to manage something as important as patient care. She also tried to justify the mistake by telling me their paperwork states they aren't responsible for knowing whether their practice accepts your insurance. Since I had just carefully read through the paperwork, I knew that wasn't true. I asked her to show me. She flipped through the pages, quietly read the section to herself, then simply said, "Well, anyways..." when she realized it didn't say what she claimed. I'm relieved I found out they don't accept my insurance before my appointment. However, I had already waited two weeks for this appointment. My husband took time off work to come with me. I've been experiencing spotting during my pregnancy and was anxious to be evaluated and make sure everything was okay. Because this office failed to verify my insurance correctly from the beginning, I'm now back at square one and will likely have to wait even longer to establish prenatal care elsewhere. A couple of additional notes: * This doctor's office was also on a list of providers who took my insurance, which I received from my insurance company * What the paperwork actually says is that they aren't responsible if outside services, such as lab work or imaging, aren't covered by your insurance, and that they only bill insurance for one service per appointment, meaning additional services, such as a wellness exam and an ultrasound, may not be covered. As I was reading those policies before learning they didn't accept my insurance, they already seemed sketchy and problematic to me. It felt like being a patient at this practice would mean having to triple check every decision they made to make sure you didn't get stuck with unexpected bills. * While I was waiting, I was also told that they hadn't even scheduled the ultrasound that was the primary reason for my visit. Their plan was to have me see the provider first and then figure out the ultrasound afterward. That only added to my impression that this office is disorganized and poorly managed. * After leaving, I had to call the office myself to ask how I would be refunded the $50 copay they charged me before realizing they didn't accept my insurance. We will see how long it takes for that to be resolved. This experience was incredibly stressful at a time when I needed reassurance and medical care. I would not recommend this practice.

Granted I am worked up due to frustration and run around with multiple different ER visits and Urgent Cares, but the bedside manner I have experienced in my last few visits here has been incredibly disappointing. I've had issues with insurance billing, wait times, etc. I came in for a visit following what was believed to be a ruptured ovarian cyst after my first ever visit to the Emergency Room. I walked in to the ultrasound with Katie to be greeted with "are we here for pregnancy?" - there was no viewing of my chart to even see what I was in office for the day prior nor to mention if I was struggling with fertility issues. Notes from my visit the day prior were not complete. A full ultrasound was done and I was left covered in gel on the table with no napkins or ways to clean myself off after she was finished. Comments were made by the nurse on my first visit, after losing 13 pounds (I was barely 135 and 5'8") and now am down to 122 pounds due to a severe trauma. For a women's clinic, the lack of sensitivity to very triggering topics was incredibly disappointing. I could hear the PA & ultrasound tech discussing my health and findings in the hallway loud enough for the remainder of the office to hear, including about how I voiced my concerns over Katie's bedside manner. I have a follow up appointment scheduled but after that, I won't be returning. Such a shame. I love Dr. Howe but the remainder of my experience has tainted my desire to return or recommend this office any further.

She insisted on an early induction from the very beginning and when we asked questions she seemed annoyed that we were questioning her. Later on when we were in the hospital taking part in the early induction the on call doctor stated that she didn't believe it was necessary and said she would've let us go the full 40 weeks if that's how the labor worked out naturally. Everything went wrong with the early induction. The baby wasn't ready to drop. Balloon, Pitocin, epidural and 60 hours later an unplanned C section. My wife wanted as natural a birth plan as possible but Dr. K was dismissive when we tried to discuss this. She said the birth plan was for us to leave the hospital with a baby. So patronizing. When we asked questions about the induction process her answers were short and vague and made us feel like we were annoying her. When we mentioned that we were planning to get a doula, she seemed annoyed and said it was a waste of time because the nurses knew more than a doula. During the 2.5 day induction and labor process we saw her for maybe three minutes when she dropped by. During that brief window she complained about another one of her patients who apparently was reluctant to heed her advice on something and then required an emergency intervention. She scoffed at that patient's outcome. It felt very unprofessional. Her attitude towards her patients more often than not feels like annoyance and mild disdain. There's no warmth there. I have so many regrets that we didn't meet with more OBs. My wife wanted her birth plan to be as close to natural as possible and we ended up getting pretty much every intervention you can imagine. My wife was so sad and exhausted by this experience. Ultimately we left the hospital with our baby so I guess Dr. K's birth plan worked out. I would never recommend this doctor. Even during the months we met with her I kept thinking maybe we should see a different OB and consider changing doctors. I really wish I had followed that instinct.

Dr. Mozayeni is kind and compassionate. OB/GYN is a very stressful field, but it is very apparent…read morethat she has a true passion for what she does. As both a patient and a pharmacist myself, I deeply admire these qualities. Dr. Mozayeni provided care for me throughout my high-risk pregnancy. She was always on top of things and paid a great deal of attention to detail. She always welcomed me with her kind smile, and every time she listened to my baby's heartbeat, she would smile as if it were her first time hearing that beautiful sound. My baby was born early, and Dr. Mozayeni happened to be on vacation that week. She still called me while I was in the hospital to check on how my baby and I were doing. That meant so much to me and showed how genuinely much she cares for her patients. Dr. Mozayeni is a very well-respected and popular physician in our area. Many of my friends are her patients, and they have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. May God bless you and keep you, Dr. Mozayeni, for all the expecting mothers and patients whose lives you touch.

She recommended I get an ultrasound with my mammogram since I was a new patient. A month after having that done I received a bill for $763. I was told by imaging there wouldn't be any additional charges after my co pay. I've reached out to Mozayeni's office multiple times. They take nearly a week to respond. I spoke with the front office who told me she would speak with someone and to expect a call back at 3 which never happened. I understand the issue lies with imaging however the Dr. Mozayeni issued the order and has decided not to help rectify this. I won't be returning to her office due to the lack of customer service.
