The value-to-experience ratio just isn't what it used to be. We've come to Top Canvas multiple times before and always had a great experience. We've even recommended it to friends. They still have a really wide variety of machines, but unfortunately, the experience and service seem to have gone downhill. In the past, the workers were incredibly attentive and would help our daughter and her friends rearrange items to make them easier to grab. They weren't just giving things away for free, but they made sure the kids had a reasonable chance of actually winning something. The win rate on the machines was also relatively high, and the prizes were generally easy enough for kids to grab. It was a great, albeit slightly expensive, value. Our most recent visit was very different. The machines had a close-to-zero win rate, and even when a worker rearranged a couple of items for us, they basically just tossed them around in the container and walked away. They didn't actually make them any easier for a small child to grab. We left with one small item, and while we completely understand that winning isn't guaranteed (that's the nature of these games) that's not really what made Top Canvas great in the past. What made it stand out was that it felt accessible and fun for young kids. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case.

It made me really appreciate car racing more because it's another level of precision and control needed to make sharp turns while maintaining as much speed as possible. This whole experience had me gripping the steering wheel with exhilaration the whole hour of racing. 10/10 and despite being notoriously bad tolerating virtual simulations due to motion sickness, I was perfectly fine doing the esport simulation.

I do not recommend their paint experience, as I felt there was a lot of false advertising. They also do not provide goggles or shoe covers as mentioned on their official site, only a poncho.

You get to start off with choosing your own jar. From there, there's a bunch of scents that you get to pick from to start creating your own custom blend. The recommended is 3-4. The ladies working were so incredibly nice and helpful with giving guidance on which scents they thought would go well together when I couldn't decide. Once you've selected your scents, you get suggested measurements depending on which scents you want to be the top, middle or base note. And then you pour the oil into the wax. After that, I liked that you can choose what color you want the wax to be, and can even add shimmers. Once done, you can either wait 45-50 minutes til they're cooled to pick up or you can come back another day. I loved the way mine looks, and will be coming back for their perfume making class! Update: I lit both of the candles I made. One smelled more like candle wax than the oils I put in.. almost like a scented crayon. The other one smells better but it's very light. I would say both of them don't have a lot of throw. Still a fun experience overall but a bit of a bummer about the end product.

First off - it's definitely harder to make them than it seems. lol If you have option paralysis or get overwhelmed easily, prepare yourself! Look at alllllll the colors in my photos available to use and maybe plan ahead. They provide templates of different floral, geometric, and banded designs that you can use, but you can go off-script if your noggin comes up with an idea! They give you a decent amount of time to create a design, glue said design in place, and then fill the rest of your lamp's empty space in with the tiny glass beads. There are a few final steps you can't complete while in "class" but that's due to the glue needing time to sit. You're not left in the dark however, as they show you a how-to video which is included in your take-home kit via a QR code. =) I noticed this place has other classes that seem like fun (terrarium and some sort of small dish painting?). I may need to return. Notes: - You interact with glue so you'll likely get messy. - There's a restroom to wash your hands, or if nature calls. - In the small bead fill-in time frame, everyone drops them. It's human. A few of the other games weren't working either, including the air hockey and basketball games. I also noticed there wasn't a DJ that night. That may have been something that simply wasn't scheduled for that evening, so I'm not going to hold that against the place. I'm just mentioning what I experienced. I did get to play Galaga, which was fun, but I was hoping to play Centipede and it wasn't there that night. I ended up playing only two games before heading downstairs to the tiki bar. Maybe it was just an off night, and I may have caught Mission Control at a bad time. I just remember it being a much more lively and fun arcade the last time I was there.
