I have been going regularly now for 2 years, and it is the single best thing I have ever done for my body. Having been through a fair amount of rehab and physical therapy in the past twenty-five years, my experience with Pilates is just like physicians, there is a very large spread of quality and approach among practitioners. Lotus Studio is not fluffy gym class, nor is it vanilla quality physical therapy. The instructors there are the most knowledgeable, engaged and efficacious of any physical training I have ever had. Every workout is tailored and customized to the exact condition of my body that day. The approach is scientific, methodical and thoughtfully applied. The work is on very high quality equipment in a beautiful studio. Personally, I would recommend this studio to anyone. Even more strongly, I've come to think it is nearly essential if you are training or injured from training. I'm pretty sure that if I had been doing this as a course of my previous athletics, I would have either not been injured as much, or certainly not as severely. For those injuries I sustained, this has been the only long term and successful physical therapy. She's a phenomenal human being and an amazing practitioner of her craft, and although PT is a science, her graceful approach and style of instruction added an Artistic touch to every session. Nine years later, it's…read moretime to update my review for my current Posture Therapist Mark Thibert who gets my highest recommendation. While some other trainers I worked with encouraged me to do workouts that injured me, Mark has only helped me. About 2 years ago, I had persistent back pain. One day while climbing the stairs in my house my right leg suddenly gave out and I could not support myself on my right leg. I had to use a cane to walk. The problem was created by compression of my right sided spinal nerves. Mark designed a program of exercises and stretches to get me to be able to walk again. Within 3 weeks, I no longer needed a cane. I work with Mark on Zoom. For the hour that I am with him, he is totally focused on helping me do the exercises correctly. I benefit from how careful, deliberate, and attentive he is with me. During my work with him I progressed so that most of the time I walk with correct posture rather than walking with my right foot extending off to the side. Not only do I walk normally again, but my back pain is gone. At age 82, I now routinely walk 5 miles per day. One day last week I even walked 9.5 miles without any trouble. None of this would have been possible for me without Mark's careful attention to the program that he created for me. If you are having back or leg problems I enthusiastically recommend Mark Thibert.
