I'd love to give this place a good review... It's a cute shop. But that's where the good experience ended. I walked in, had an appointment and had to wait. Ok, no biggie... She was finishing up. I sat down and commented that I couldn't believe all the gems were still on my fingers after three weeks and she said, "Well maybe you should go back." LOL What? I came in for a gel fill, she starts taking off my polish and the gems. I tell her I want my nails cut short. (They're already pretty short but have a stiletto tip that I asked her to cut off.) She starts to prep my nail with the dremyl file. I asked her to hand file, she said it will take too long so I decide to give her a chance (I've had too many bad experiences getting my hands butchered by people who don't pay attention when they use that tool.) She finishes and grabs the clippers and says, "Here?" Not even halfway down the tip. I said "No I want them short." She looks at me like I've asked her to rearrange the stars and so I take the clippers and show her how short I want them. She proceeds to tell me that by shortening my nail that much I will make the nails too brittle and that she can't help me. So I said, "Ok, well I'll pay to fix that nail... Can you just do them? I've got stuff to do." Her response, "I can't help you today." Well thanks for making me drive all the way out here from West Bloomfield for nothing. read more

The owner, Jennifer, is a delight to talk to and she does a great job both doing what she does and explaining after care. A hidden gem tucked away in downtown Walled Lake so it could be easy to not notice when driving by. That being said just make an appointment and get your mani and pedi done. They are super clean which I'm picky about, they even use the tub liners for your pedicure. The owner Jennifer is super nice and so is her daughter Julie. I personally see Liz she's very particular and a perfectionist which I appreciate with my nail services not only is she sweet as hell but her polish manicures can last up to 2 weeks on me. I don't believe Jennifer wants anyone's business or wants to work or be a nail technician anymore, that's what it seems like to me. The impression I've gotten is that I don't think she cares about clients being happy, and I don't think she wants to be a business owner for the public anymore. It's been about 2 years, and her attitude has dramatically changed since I first started visiting. I watched this salon go from a place I would recommend to any friend or family member, to a very negative and hostile place, where Jennifer can be heard yelling on the phone with her fiancé/husband about clients or refusing to take appointments. She gossips about clients in front of other clients. She unpredictably gets a snarky and nasty attitude. Not to mention, the only good nail technician is Julie, who is and kind and very generous. It's unfortunate things have gone so downhill. Jennifer and Nancy have both given me both sloppy and painful manicures. Their hot towels smell like mildew, the smell when you leave wet laundry in the washing machine overnight. Jennifer treats her clients poorly, just snaps, and she refuses business from multiple patrons, regardless of how long they've been a loyal customer. For my 50th bday vacation in the Caribbean, I wanted a perfect mani/pedi. Made an appt, and apparently it was cutting it really close to when it was time to close up shop. It was made very clear that I should not expect any extras or be that concerned to detail. She blew through my services and I was left feeling pretty badly, and certainly not loving my results. New nail salon that has been open for about 3 to 4 months. It's a very small place only 4 pedicure chairs and room to do 3 to 4 people's nails. That being said everyone was very nice and personable. One thing that i have been noticing at most salons lately is that they want you to make appointments. They could not do my daughters and my nails since we both get pink and whites. So my daughter got her nails done. It is a quiet place not a lot of hustle or noise. Which was very nice and refreshing. They have complimentary water and pop. I walked in 3 weeks ago hoping to have the Nailists remove my 'DIP' nail polish. She told me it would take over an HOUR for her just to remove,(ridiculous I thought) so I went to 10 PERFECT NAILS in Wixom. (10 Perfect Nails removed my nail polish in 15-20 minutes like I knew could be done and gave me an excellent manicure!) Very poor customer service and it was obvious that she just didn't want to remove my nail polish. Will not be going here ever. read more

This little salon opened in April and I am so happy that I finally made an appointment and went in for a mani/pedi! Liz did my nails and she did a great job with great attention to detail. I don't get anything fancy and keep my nails short because I play guitar and work in the medical field, but they look great. The place is so clean and relaxing.The polish display is fresh looking and colorized! Very pretty! I cannot believe the array of colors! I think they said the counted their colors between laquer and shellac and they have about 450! Friendly techs who smile and talk to you!Great massage chairs, great foot and hand massage, salt scrubs, fresh plastic tub liners for every client, and hot towels! Additionally they offered me a beverage AND she let me know when my time was up under the dryer, checked my nails for dryness,AND brushed some additional curing oil on my nails before I left.(Those finishing touches were a first). When I accidentally bumped my toes on the wall getting out of the chair, Liz was all over it checking to make sure I had not made a mess of her beautiful work! I love this place. Only four chairs and four stations so make an appointment. With word of mouth advertising, they are busy and I am not at all surprised! This is my first review on Yelp......I felt motivated to sign up so I could post after deciding I will not visit this salon again. I am sad with how much this place has gone downhill. Do not be intimidated, the other reviews are true. If you notice there is a downward swing this year, it's because this place is not what it used to be. The norm in general is a business owner is supposed to value their clients. The client's wishes are granted, and the client's happiness and satisfaction is a priority.......but at Jennifer's Nail's, it's the opposite. There plusses don't outweigh the minuses and it's not enough for me to go back anymore. Originally I went here thinking it wasn't just another nail salon/one in every strip mall nail salon. But I was wrong it's just the same. I got tired of leaving the salon in a bad mood because I'm there to relax and have a nice day....... On my last visit I got a manicure and the lady doing it was rough with my cuticles, using dull cuticle trimmers, and her rubber gloves were dirty with previous customer's polish on them. I was really grossed out! Imagine those gloves rubbing lotion into your hands. Their salon standards have decreased, but not as much as their standards of how to treat people. Your clients built your business, and you should not be taking them for granted. read more
