Jenny was amazing in capturing our Pithi, Garba, Hindu Wedding, and Reception! She was very thorough in understanding Raj and I's desire to get candids and capture emotions while getting at least 2 good photos of us haha. She not only did that but also got all of the traditional wedding/detail shots! Jenny and Ana managed to be everywhere but also blended/hidden in and we never felt followed or blocked during the ceremony. Jenny and Ana were also very efficient in capturing all of our Mandap family photos after the wedding still giving us plenty of time to change and take couple shots during the short turn over before our reception! To start with the most important bit: we absolutely love love love our wedding photos! One of our primary goals was to get photos that looked natural and candid, and that's exactly what Jenny and her team delivered. The cameras were constantly snapping, capturing the different moments throughout the day, and we're very happy with the final set of edited photos that we got. Prior to the wedding day, Jenny made sure to clear up some logistics with formal photos of family and friends, but besides that all of the magic happened on the day of. Her team came early and even stayed a little past their contracted time just to make sure to capture some of those moments as everyone was dancing into the night, hanging out, and just generally having a good time during the reception. My husband and I hosted a wedding in October at Valentine DTLA (Marvimon Productions) and hired Jenny Smith & Co. They were unbelievable from beginning to end. Your wedding photographer is someone who will be with you all day so you want to make sure you love them, and we loved Jenny & Jenn (second shooter). Before the wedding: they were so easy to get a hold of and were so accommodating. The questions they ask you to help prepare you for your perfect day really aided us in our timeline prep. I got married on May 29, 2022 at Saddlerock Ranch. I truly truly cannot say enough good things about the JSCO team. After receiving several referrals, I naturally I reached out to Jenny and scheduled a zoom meeting with Mel who we quickly decided we wanted to hire to photograph our day. What I loved about that first zoom meeting was just the natural flow between Mel and us- the conversation was quirky, real, and soothing, especially after talking to so many vendors who did not appreciate the same level of rapport that I do. Mel led our engagement shoot and the photos were STUNNING. After getting those back, I knew we made the right decision for our wedding day. Leading up to our wedding, we would get regular emails from Jenny helping us plan our big day. Mel worked seamlessly with our planner and other vendors to figure out a flow with so many moving pieces of our big Jewish wedding. When the day finally arrived, Mel and team were beyond extraordinary. They captured so many special moments and made us and our families feel so comfortable in front of the cameras. Although Jenny and I were introduced in an uncomfortable way (through a wedding planning service that didn't end up working out at ALL for me), our relationship as client & vendor has been the utmost professional and communicative via email as well as on the phone. Jenny arrived early at our outdoor ceremony location in Granada Hills at the perfect time to capture some pre-ceremony (gorgeous) sunset photos, with such attention to detail, placement, lighting etc.! When I arrived, her presence was comforting and welcoming, and it was as if I could tell how great the photos were going to look just by the angles at which she photographed my new husband and me. Both my husband and I were made to feel very comfortable as she snapped some post-ceremony couples photos of the two of us, which can be seriously awkward in some situations! Two thumbs up to her camera work at the reception location, as well! The Odyssey Restaurant is high up on a hilltop & it's know for magnificent views! Just as at the ceremony, she managed to capture these views in the most magnificent way. She managed to take some photographs that many people weren't able to "get right". For instance our wedding cake with its black, shiny topper, sitting right near a dark window at night! (Oops, our oversight) It was almost as if you couldn't see the topper at all, but she magically made it extremely visible and beautiful in the photographs! It took less than one week to receive about a dozen sneak peek photographs just about seven and a half weeks to get all of the photos back from her and her wonderful team and can I just say? Where do we even begin with Jenny + her team...they are truly phenomenal! My (now) husband and I first met Jenny and Melanie at our engagement shoot at Griffith Observatory. I sent her photos of my mom from her wedding back in India and my grandmother's photos of her wedding as well. My grandmother had passed a few months before my wedding so when Jenny jumped at the opportunity to recreate these moments for me, it truly made me so happy. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and of course, we loved our pictures. We are not the most photogenic couple but she was able to make us look good for our pictures. Jenny and Melanie are not only fantastic photographers and professional yet down to earth people, they're so open to hearing suggestions for specific shots and then making them work in the context of the moment. So that your wedding photos are what you hoped and more! The first time we met with Jenny, she and Melanie, hosted us for a champagne toast in their studio. We liked them right away because they are so down to earth and listened to what we liked - even as we were still figuring out the whole wedding planning detail process! Melanie did our engagement photos, and though it was strange having the camera on us, the photos turned out beautiful. We have more amazing ones than we know what to do with. The same goes for our wedding photos. Jenny had another wedding the evening of ours so Melanie and one other photographer took our wedding photos, and we couldn't be happier. The photos look incredible! The colors, the framing, and the fact that that they captured so many of our guests and so many moments we weren't able to catch in person. Jenny and her team were amazing on our big day! We had a last minute venue change due to flooding and she couldn't have been more understanding. Jenny and Jenna showed up way before their call time so they could scout the new place (without us evening asking them to!) and their encouragement and excitement helped calm any uneasiness I had about the new venue. They made taking photos fun for the whole bridal party and did as little staging as possible so that everything looked naturally beautiful. At the end of the night they jumped in the photo booth with us and joined us on the dance floor! Jenny and her team perfectly captures gorgeous timeless moments. Out of all the vendors, we wanted THE BEST photographer to convey our wedding. My husband was definitely wary about choosing a photographer due to how camera shy I am. We also booked an engagement session and after meeting Jenny, we felt like she was a friend looking after us! We had an incredible experience working with Jenny Smith and Co, particularly Melanie as our photographer. I found them through Instagram after falling in love with their work. We LOVE our engagement photos and the wedding preview photos that we have seen so far. We have gotten so many compliments. We did an engagement shoot with Melanie 8 months before the wedding to get to know her and feel comfortable in front of the camera. Due to inclement weather we actually had to reschedule the engagement shoot and Melanie and Jenny were great about working with us to find a new date and venue. We highly recommend doing an engagement shoot! Melanie always made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and she got great shots of us and our wedding party. I cannot believe I have not left a review yet for Jenny Smith and her dream team! I got married five years ago, at the now-defunct Marvimon. Jenny was absolutely amazing! I loved all of the pictures, and I'm so happy when I see her at weddings of friends I have referred her to. She has photographed multiple people in my group since, and they are have all been extremely happy with her team and the wonderful pictures they take. Jenny was the first vendor we picked when we started planning our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made during the entire planning process. When we met her the first time it was obvious that she understood what we were looking for in a photographer. We were so comfortable working with her that we also asked for other vendor recommendations and we ended up picking a half dozen other vendors and they were all great as well. We worked with Jenny on our engagement photo, day of photos, and photo booth. My wife and I know we're not models, but she made us feel like Tom & Gisele during all the shoots. Melanie was also there during our wedding day and she's an All-star. The photo booth was also a huge hit and Amsi was awesome. The package we chose was everything we wanted and worth every penny.
