I received a dozen as a gift and just tried my first Jenny's cookie. Oh My! It's dangerous having them in the house!

Jenny's Homemade Cookies are damn good! Are they expensive? You bet. Are they worth it? They're worth every penny! Getting here from our place is a bit of a drive, thankfully! I say that only because if it were closer... well, we'd have eaten many, many more dozen cookies. The store is cute. They had a candle burning, which seems dangerous but it provided a nice scent for the shop. The person working there came out from the back and was very helpful and made recommendations. There's a lot to choose from. These cookies are great for a snack at home and are also great to take to a special occasion / get together. Oh... the cookies. The flavor of each is true to the name and absolutely delicious. Buy what sounds or looks good. I don't think you could go wrong. read more

My bf and I stopped by here while killing some time before a Reds game. He told me I won't find a better cookie - big statement! I was beyond ready to find out for myself. Upon walking in, I saw a good variety with a few options appearing sold out. A moment later, a woman walked up to the counter, refilling some cookies, including the French toast, which really caught my eye. I asked her if she could tell me what's in it and boy oh boy can this woman sell her cookies with her descriptions! The French toast has layers of streusel and is topped with powdered sugar and syrup. Sold! The bf got butterscotch but also asked about the Millie, which is when we found out this sweet woman was Jenny herself and the Millie is named after her mother. All the feels! We also noticed the business cards' tag line, which said the cookies are so good, they won't make it to the jar. So clever! Jenny told us about being in business for 20 years and how the chocolate chip is the #1 seller; we paid the $8 total for our 2 cookies and headed out. I tried the butterscotch and it was good but that's not my favorite flavor. The French toast however, the bf may have been right, I cannot think of a better cookie I have ever had in my life. WOWZA. It was perfectly soft, slightly chewy, sweet with a hint of salt. I'd drive back to Ohio just for another one. I should be happy this place is so far from my house or I'd probably weigh 600 lbs. I was excited to find out they delivered (it's a steep fee, but it was worth it) and I ordered a mixed dozen for my birthday celebration. All delicious (chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter and peanut butter chocolate chip), but the Sweet Millie is my favorite. Just like the picture shows, Jenny's cookies you really make me smile. They're about 20 minutes away from my house, but I am always willing to make the drive just for cookies. They have so many different varieties to choose from and every single one is delicious. What I typically do is buy at least 12, then freeze what I don't eat. They're just as good once you take them out of the freezer and let them sit out for just a bit. My favorite flavors are typically the sugar cookies with frosting, M&M, and some thing with caramel or apple (or both!) I really wish I lived closer to them but it's probably a good thing because I will be here just about every day. I've also watched how they treat their guests and love it. People that come in are often treated like family or a little community. That makes me want to support them even more! Cookies are my weakness, so they always get my business! read more

Jenny has just changed my life!!! I tried them for the first time today at the Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market. At $4 a cookie, I bought one unsure of what to expect. I walked away with my one "French Toast" cookie and began eating a few small pieces. In mid-chew I walked back and asked,..."are their drugs in these cookies?" She looked at me unsure of what I meant. I said may I have two more please?! The cookies are soft with a tiny crunch around the edge. They were the bomb.com!! I will surely be visiting them on the west side of cincinnati and ordering them for family gatherings and a holiday potluck at the office. We go to Jenny's to pick up cookies for family dinners, pot luck dinners and of course birthdays. There are so many flavors to choose from and the cookies are so large we cut them into quarters. This allows folks to sample all the different types. Each of our family members has a favorite so it provides a nice variety!! They are in a small storefront and try to keep the cookies stocked in the case. Ask if you don't see what you want as they might have them in the back. There are some seasonal cookies. These might just be the best cookies that we have ever tasted. Seriously. We got a taste of them at their stand at the Cincinnati Holiday Market this year and we got hooked. The next weekend we tracked the bakery down because we just HAD to have more. Our favorites so far are the Chocolate Chip and the Reese's Pieces's cookies. They melt in your mouth..no joke. We talked to Jenny a bit while we were there. Such a nice lady! She was telling us all about the countless different kinds of cookies they offer. It was crazy to hear about all the different varieties. I'm sure they're all great. What makes these cookies so great? It's just..every bite is so chewy and flavorful. They just taste so good! I've had a lot of different cookies from a lot of different bakeries..and I've never been as wholey satisfied so immediately as I was with these cookies. I cannot speak to the cookies as I have not tried them. I attempted to visit the location in Bridgetown around 10:30am on the Wednesday and was really disappointed to find a locked door although according to their signage, they opened at 10am. The "open" sign was also lit up. So again, a locked door was strange. I also knocked on the door thinking that perhaps they just forgot to unlock it. I tried calling but was sent to a voicemail; which the voicemail states the shop was open for walk-ins. I went back to my car which was directly parked in front of the shop and as I was prepping to back out of the space and leave, I see someone walk past a door in the backroom of the shop. So I am not sure why the door was locked. Update: a rep from Jenny's contacted me later on in the day and explained they actually were not open for walk-in's despite all the signage. I won't be making a special trip but if I'm in the area I may give them a try. read more

I first discovered Jenny's Cookies during the Cincinnati Chocolate Festival last fall. Just recently, I stumbled upon them again after going to the legendary Fish Fry at Bardstown Fine Meats. Jenny's Cookies is located in the same complex and neighbors a wine and candy shop. Although it was near closing time, Jenny patiently served our large group's individual cookie orders. Each of us looked longingly through the dozen cookie options in the display case: chocolate chip, s'mores, peanut butter chip, white chocolate cranberry, cinnamon toffee pecan, minty chocolate chip, white chocolate pineapple, butterscotch toffee... and many many more! The menu boasts over 50 varieties of cookies. Each cookie was huge and thick, with chunks of the toppings protruding from the savory batter. I bought three: - S'mores: cookie batter mixed with graham crackers filled with chocolate chunks and gooey marshmallow chunks - Chocolate Chip: lots n' lots of chocolatey goodness - Butterscotch Toffee: If you like caramel flavors, you'll like this There's a great story behind Jenny and her cookies. She started baking at the age of 8 during visits to her grandmother's house. Years later, she never stopped. She even named her buttercream cookies "Sweet Millies" after her mother. Opinion only goes so far, but I have never had a better cookie. Working in Bridgetown Finer Meats, I encountered Jenny's before she entered the brick and mortar small business world. Her cookies are most definitely holders of partial blame when it comes to my successful long term relationship. When I want to thank or impress, I do Bridgetown for dinner and stick to the simplicity of the cookie for desert or gift. Having known Jenny, I can assure you that quality is the reason these cookies are so good. Only the best goes into her cookies, and the meticulous standards she holds are eye opening. Start with the Chocolate Chip or the Sweet Millie. They're the hook. Move on to one of her many mixes: s'more, rocky road, double chocolate, you can't go wrong. They aren't cheap, at $2.50 a pop you may cringe and have every right to be wary.
