I ordered pupusas revueltas - beans inside are a tad salty but it works with the curtido which is simple with a bit of heat from Chile flakes. The curtido has a great balance - I like that it isn't fussy and overdone but at the same time - not lacking in flavor. Typically I always have to add salt and pique - and a bit of lemon... I didn't need to add one single thing to this. It isn't the cheapest Pupuseria at 2.99 a pop (if you are into East LA 2 dollar pupusas)- but it's filling, hits the spot. You aren't coming here for an experience of dining. I personally don't care that it has a "B" - most of our kitchens would fail any inspection. Hubby was craving tamales and pupusas. Found this place on yelp and placed an order. As we looked it up on waze, it gave us an address in Pomona on Holt Ave and one in Ontario on Holt Blvd. If looking for this place, GPS to Holt Blvd, even though the yelp address says Holt Ave. Why so much detail? Well... once we got to the address on Holt Blvd, waze kept directing me on the opposite side of the street. Finally saw the restaurant and the outside sign just says Pupuseria so we figured we were in the right spot. It's a small spot so drive slowly or you might miss it. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff was extremely nice and attentive with good customer service. Chicken tamal and pupusa requests both had good flavor.. but both were a bit too salty from what I am used to. We also got the beans, plantains and crema. This Pupuseria Is super easy to miss if you aren't local. It's sandwiched between a liquor store and a tow yard. Current health rating is a B for those interested. The storefront is much: a few tables & chairs, kitchen, restrooms. The decor is very much aligned with most pupuserias as there are a lot of items that say "El Salvador" throughout the location. There was an old jukebox which was cool to explain to my kids but it didn't function. They had a TV with telemundo which was nice for when you're on lunch and just want to relax. We ordered 8 reveultas, 1 sprite, 1 coke, Kola Champagne, and water. Unfortunately, the drinks were advertised as free refills but this was not the case. Also my husband asked for water and was shocked when it was a bottle. The price per pupusas was 3.20 and the drinks were more than the pupusas. The food was decent. We did enjoy the filling and they had their own unique flavor with cumin being the most prominent flavor. The salsa was average. Curtido was average. The restrooms did not have toilet tissue. Thankfully we travel with wipes for our children but that seems to be a staple that shouldn't be missing but with inflation what it is, I'm sure small businesses are hurting. Alright so let me start of by saying one of the cooks is from Guatemala which means the food might not be 100% Authentic Salvadorian food. For example I ordered plantains with beans, crema . The place is in a pretty sketchy area and its not up to date on the outside as well as the inside, but honestly the quality is there. We have eaten there twice but have ordered for pick up numerous of times. We always go with the pupusas... all different kind... revuelta, queso con calabasa, pollo and queso. I love places like this. Tiny, no frills, plastic table cloths, Spanish speaking staff, telemundo on the tv, a jukebox filled with latin tunes. This is my kind of place. I came here in search of delicious pupusas because I'm new to the area and have yet to find a pupuseria that has really good pupusas. I've had some meh ones but I was hoping yelpers weren't steering me wrong with the reviews here..and thankfully, they weren't. This place is located directly next door to a liquor store and looks like it's the size of a small corner store. We made the mistake of parking in the lot next door that belonged to Pepe's Towing. Luckily, I asked the waitress if it was okay to leave my car there as soon as we walked in and she advised me that I need to park in the back. Phew. Avoided being towed there. I've been to many pupuserias in my day so I didn't really need much time with the menu. I did notice right away that they didn't have a large array of agua frescas but they did have ensalada which got me very excited. For those of you who don't know, ensalada is a fruit drink with a water base but what makes it special is that it has chunks of fruit in it (e.g., apple, mango, orange). It is delicious and highly recommended. We ordered two cheese pupusas, 3 revueltas, a pastelito, and a tamal de elote. For those of you who are knew to pupusa ordering, the revueltas are the standard type and come with beans, cheese, and chicharron inside. I prefer the cheese pupusas that just have gobs of gooey melted cheese inside the masa. The pupusas were delicious. Yum! The curtido was also very good and that's huge for me because I love eating my pupusas with piles of curtido (think fermented cabbage). The tamal de elote was large and pretty good. They were out of crema so it was a little dry not having it with the crema on the side for dipping. The pastelito was way different than I was used to. They're usually small and filled with meat. This one was rather large and filled with chicken and cheese. Never saw them with cheese before but it definitely tasted good. The service was fine. The waitress messed up my order originally and gave us 5 revueltas instead of 3 revueltas and 2 cheese but she was super apologetic and made the change without any problems once the mistake was realized. All that food ended up being $24 dollars - not bad at all! We will definitely return to Jenny's for our pupusa cravings. read more

So my co- worker recommended me this place because of there popusas and barbacoa well... the popusas are ok, the barbacoa is good but... me and dad order 3 popusas and one taco de barbacoa. They took forever to give our food, we waited like 40min or more. The taco was good so we order 2 more, we'll it took them 30min just to bring it out, I went to ask ( nicely) if they were ready because it's been a while, they said because they were making the tortillas hand made( the first taco was pre made yellow tortillas and they were good) so finally they bring them out and the tortillas were thick and burn and not fully cook from the inside. ‍ we decided to give it a second chance and here we are here again, but they are taking forever and they have two guys in the back working with long hair, no mask, no gloves and no hair net, did I mention they keep moving their here away from there face . ‍this might be my last time here.
