This hidden gem is a tiny grey building on the side of an Arco gas station so it is just to-go only, no seating. The pupusas are GIANT, HOT, TASTY! I live 25 mins away so if I'm in the area or passing through I'll call in my order of at least 10 pupusas. It's always piping hot and ready when I get there. It looks like a 1 superwoman show in there as she takes orders and makes the pupusas too. She's super nice & speaks English. My family LOVES pupusas and they are in the top 3 pupusa spots we've ever had. I've only ordered the revueltas (chicharron, beans and cheese) pupusas but there are a ton of different ones. She puts a ton of the cabbage salad (curtido) and plenty of the salsa roja in plastic bags. It gives me a little anxiety though as I feel like they'll leak, but they haven't yet! Maybe next time, I'll remember to bring containers and ask her to put the curtido and salsa in my containers instead of the plastic bags. read more

I first seen this little spot when we went to have fried chicken down the street. I was curious but didn't come back. Until a fiend that lives in the area mentioned this little hole in the wall. I recommend you follow them on Instagram or call before you come. Looks like they aren't open consistently. However, this has became our just pupusas spot. Yes each pupusas is $5, but they are evenly filled. The curtido is fantastic and the salsa has a nice kick to it. Phone orders are usually 20 minutes. Hello! My wife and I had been hearing great things from our son about this place, especially because he knows how much we enjoy good pupusas. The pictures looked delicious, so I was excited to finally stop by and give them a try. When I arrived, I waited about 7 minutes before someone opened the order window and took my order. While looking over the menu--which is a bit limited in variety--I asked if they offered chicharrón pupusas. I was told that all their pupusas contain cheese. As someone who's looking for non-dairy options, I was hoping there might be an alternative or suggestion, but unfortunately, none was offered. While I understand every restaurant has its own style and specialties, it would be great to see some more inclusive menu options and a little more engagement from staff when guests have questions. In the end, I had to head to another pupuseria in Pomona that could accommodate my dietary needs. I was really hoping for an amazing experience, and while this visit didn't quite meet expectations, I do appreciate the effort that goes into every small business and wish the team continued success. The pupusas are delicious. They are a good size which makes them worth the price. The revueltas are well balanced with the ingredients and overall the pupusas is well stuffed. I am a huge curtido fanatic and will rate this curtido as average. The salsa is exceptional in that it isn't watered down and has good flavor and texture. I would definitely order again. This is obviously a small family run business and encourage everyone to support them! A word of caution would be the neighborhood, best to visit during the day. read more

Always looking for good pupusas which believe it or not is hard to find! As always I rely on Yelp to point me in the right direction when I'm looking for a new place to try! Let me tell you Mamas Pupusas were beyond delicious and reasonably priced for the amount of food they give you! I do have to warn you, these pupusas are HUGE. We normally order 2 each from other places but one is plenty. We had leftovers for the next day and they were equally as yummy as they were when we had them the night before. They were not stingy with their salsa and cortida either. Most places barely give you any to begin with, this was certainly not the issue! These are made to order so please be patient. I promise you they are well worth the wait! I called ahead of time to see if we could place a phone order since it was about 45 minutes before closing and they were more than happy to take our order ahead of time. When we got there we were greeted with smiles from both the young man at the window and the woman making pupusas. I passed the restaurant twice. I was expecting it to be one of the businesses directly on holt. It's a small little building in the arco gas station parking lot closer to the am/pm. Easy to miss if you're not paying attention. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of fresh masa and sizzling cheese, and a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped into someone's home kitchen. The pupusas are absolutely phenomenal -- thick, golden, and perfectly griddled on the outside with a melty, flavorful filling on the inside. I tried the revuelta (pork, beans, and cheese) and the loroco with cheese, and both were packed with flavor and made to perfection. The curtido (pickled cabbage) and the salsa they serve on the side elevate the whole experience -- tangy, fresh, and just the right kick of heat. Their menu goes beyond pupusas too -- the plátanos fritos with cream and beans were cooked just right: crispy edges, soft inside, and not overly oily. I also had a tamal de elote and it tasted like something straight from my abuelita's kitchen -- comforting and made with care. Service was friendly, attentive, and genuine. You can tell this is a family-run business where they take pride in everything they serve. The food comes out fresh and hot, and even when it gets busy (which it does because this place is no secret), they move with efficiency and kindness. Little pop up type pupuseria next to the gas station with extremely limited parking. Pupusas are actually massive, but unfortunately it was mostly masa instead of filling. Customer service wise the worker was very very awkward and it was a little uncomfortable ordering. Compared to usual places though the wait time was only abt 10 mins which wasn't bad. The prices are average and their filling is seasoned pretty well! The salsa that comes with it is more of a regular chunky salsa and the curtido had a pretty hefty amount of oregano. My boyfriend and I are not very big fans of large amounts of oregano but depending on what you like it might be perfect for you! I do suggest trying it only because overall it was pretty alright read more

For me, the food was not that incredible. The pupusa was very thick and it was not that great for me. I think you can find better Pupusa somewhere else in Pomona. I would not recommend it. The service was very horrible when I called in for my service, they automatically block my number to call back. I think that was totally rude. And yes there is a "mama" inside making the food so it's about as authentic as it gets.
