$1.50 tacos are a deal that is if you get good food. The carne asada was super chewy, and lots of fat! Worst quality meat I've had. Other type of foo here is good but I wouldn't recommend any tacos.

I came to order as I usually do regularly order my California with added chile relleno order taker said she didn't have it she's evening 5:30pmish I told her I've ordered it plenty of times. She sounded frustrated after I let her know so ok she charged me l get my food she's sarcastic. Go home to find a EXTRA over re heated hard chile relleno In my burrito again I've had it plenty of time prior, The cook goes to say it's due to the picadillo the chile was exaggerating hard and that after 10/15 min it gets like that which I know that is bull. Was very disappointed with the service and quality I encountered today. When the other gentleman is working his attitude is so much nicer and not sassy like he don't wanna be at work. She acts like we are not paying for what we order or like if our money going to your business is not what makes her Paycheck or help keep you business running. Usually I have good experience but today topped it off.

Dude the breakfast burritos here smack so hard. I keep craving them in the mornings and they hit harder with the large horchata. Big back season bout to hit. 10/10 try the chorizo breakfast burrito with a large horchata.

First time here. We were seared right away. Food was ok. Prices are a little high. Server was nice but overwhelmed. It took us 40 to get our meal. It seems they only have 1 server and 1 cook. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

Rude new employees. Don't say thank you, just choose your red or green sauce they don't ask.

Tacos were fire. Less than $2.00 for taco Tuesday. But do not get the horchata, it's not worth the price, too milky.

But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.

Honestly I had zero expectations coming here, especially after reading some of the reviews which mostly skew towards good, but the bad ones did have me second guessing my plans, but at this point I was already committed to the idea of dining here. Casa Maguey has a pretty good variety of different offerings. I can't remember each specific dish I tried since there was a lot I tried, but the stewed/braised meats were all very tasty. There was a chicken one with fajitas, stewed/braised beef, and another braised dish with spare ribs. I got a small scoop of rice and scooped up some of the braising sauces to go with the rice. There was a veggie dish that was more cumin forward... I think it was potatoes? Both red and green enchiladas were great. The fresh tortillas really made a difference with the tacos. Very good. And you know I had to get menudo because of the weather. No complaints either. Speaking of complaints, I did have a bit of a surprise in the middle of my meal, but the manager (I'm assuming) took care of the issue. I thought it was handled well and appreciated how they resolved it. Overall I had a great experience here this past Sunday! The staff was friendly, the food was good, price was very reasonable, and the champagne kept flowing (big W!!)
