    Tepeques Catering

We had Tepeques come cater our work event. The tacos, quesadillas and mulitas were really good. The meats were all very well seasoned and just full of flavor. The agua frescas were just right not to sweet and really refreshing. They were very professional and had gloves on while service the tacos. They had choices when it came to salsas. The ambiance was great because everyone was enjoying the food and I saw a lot of happy nodding faces. You should definitely try them out and have them cater your next event. Thank you for a great experience.

It was getting late and needed a place to grub. We were across the street at the strip mall and noticed Tepeque still opened. Turned out that they had just opened about a year ago. Ventured out and found a nice bright place with friendly staff. We ordered a few items to go. I got a couple chicken soft tacos and albondigas soup. Both were good. The salsa was flaming hot though. I could feel the heat seething out from my ears after a couple bites. I normally like spicy food, but this was way hot for me! I could have put too much, but my son's shrimp burrito confirmed it was just a bit over the top hot! We also got an order of rolled tacos and plain nachos. Nothing fancy, but good 'ol snack food. All in all, friendly service, a bit slow, but overall good. Watch out for the salsa! Keep on Yelp'n!

I love coming here for the enchiladas. All the food is great. The flavors make me feel like I'm back home. I recommend the Michoacán enchiladas with secina(thin slide beef cooked like chicharrón)

The Queso Fundido with chorizo is also one of the best! The live band entertainment on Tuesdays changes weekly, which keeps things fun and exciting. Unfortunately, there wasn't a band last Tuesday, but these things happen. Taco Tuesdays can get crowded very quickly, so I definitely recommend making reservations, especially for parties of four or more. Indoor seating fills up fast, and you may be left with outdoor seating. During hot weather, the patio can feel quite humid, and the outdoor chairs can become uncomfortable after sitting for a while. Service is decent and about what you'd expect when the restaurant is busy. Overall, we enjoy coming here with friends for the food, happy hour, and lively atmosphere.

Went with the Baja shrimp tacos that were lightly fried but grilled is also an option . The Chipotle sauce was good, and the size of the tacos were filling with 3 . They also have an outdoor patio for seating which on cooler evenings look appealing. The crowd is a nice mix of college, families and people looking to have a nice evening . But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.
