Not very good alterations place. Called to ask if they would keep the original hem of jeans and they said it depends on situation. Umm.. I've been having several ladies up in northern california do this for me and never an issue. But this lady said she needs to see it. Weird. Not trusting my expensive clothing with these people. I went to Jenny's Tailoring because of her high reviews here on Yelp. My experience with her was very positive. Now it is my pleasure to highly recommend Jenny for your tailoring needs. She is super nice, helpful, and brainstormed with me before creating a cape. Yes you read correctly, an actual cape for a Man Of Steel Halloween costume. Jenny also took in the suit itself as the results of my workout routine changed my measurements in the last month leading up to Halloween. With the cape she got the pleats at the collar area, the length, and the overall flow exactly the way I wanted them. Her work really helped bring the costume to life. I got a lot of compliments at a Halloween party, and at Comikaze 2013 where my family went as a "Family Of Steel". We were stopped every few feet for pictures, interviewed by podcasts, and were even filmed for a future episode of Heroes Of Cosplay. We didn't expect any of that since it was our first time in costume at a comic convention. The suit was airbrushed by Vince of Couture Airbrush (also highly recommended here on Yelp), and the custom pieces I added to the suit received a lot of compliments. But also several people actually asked me about the cape, and complimented Jenny's work. One person said to me, "you have one of the best Superman capes I have ever seen". Thanks to yelp I found Jenny. It's really difficult to find good tailors and so far she's been superb. I first took a bridesmaids dress here to get taken in and also shortened. The material was a chiffon and the detail at the bust where it meets the back zipper was not easy to alter. When I got it back it fit perfectly and you couldn't tell it was even altered! I've also had a pair of jeans made from flared to boot cut and she patched some holes in a jersey dress in a really creative way by folding in and stitching a mini pleat - the seam just disappears into the print. Amazing. She can do just about anything it seems and she will be really honest with you about what needs altering or what might not even be worth it. read more

I took a my bridesmaid dress in to be altered a week before the wedding. She did a great job. The dress fits perfectly and you can't tell that it was altered at all. I've also brought pants here to be hemmed in the past and the work has always been well done. The price to get pants hemmed is about 11 dollars. I would highly recommend her. read more

This is by so far the best tailor experience I've had. Jenny was kind, sweet and very open. I was in need of alteration for an outfit. The discussion/introduction was brief and she started to do her work. After measuring and getting the right amount of information, she gave me the quote and then the estimated time for it to be completed. For my case, the outfit took a week. It was longer than usual because of the outfit's complications. I return in a week and the outfit was fitted perfectly. Splendid job by Jenny and I will definitely be back for any future alterations. Words can't express how amazing this woman is at what she does and her kindness. I ordered my daughters communion dress online and it was too big it has lots of detail and layers. This review is a few years late but I just have to write a review. I have been so busy that I haven't had time to do so. I yelped and found Jenny and I am glad I did. Jenny does an excellent job. I had a purple/lilac bridesmaid dress that was too small and needed to be fitted. I brought the dress to Jenny and she said she could do it. It was about a few inches to small in the back (cannot zip up). She asked me if I had any extra fabric, I said no so she pointed me to Joann's hoping I can find some fabric in the shade of the lilac/ purple dress. I looked for a fabric that was close but couldn't find an exact match but still brought it over to her. I was really nervous when I brought the fabric back to Jenny but she said she will try and it may not be an exact match and told me to pick it up in a week. After a week of waiting nervously, I went over to pick up the dress. OMG! It fitted like a glove and perfectly!! I couldn't tell the dress had been work on, I examine the work closely and it was perfect. Her stitching was flawless. Her work excellent. You could tell she was an expert tailor!! Although, the alterations were pricier than the dress, I thought her work was perfect and worth it. I recommend Jenny for all your alterations needs. She is worth it. Came here serveral months back to have my pants taken in a little on the length. She charged me $15 each....which at the time I thought was a bit expensive because these were just regular pants, not part of a suit or jeans. I had them done. They looked fine. Nothing special. Just this past week, I brought in three knee-length dresses to have her taken in some on the sides. These dresses were not expensive. Bought them from Kohl's and Target. I liked the look but they were just a bit loose all around. One I plan to wear to a wedding and the others could be for work. One had full lining and the others had lining for just the top half. When I went in, I though since I just want a little taken in at the bust, waist and probably down the side, I thought it was going to be like $20 - $30 each. Boy did I have a sticker shock when she quoted me $55 for two and $65 for the other. Holy moly.....is that what alterations costs these days? While there debating what I should do, I had the sense she was over charging me....but since I procrastinated in getting these done, I had to make a decision. I ended up paying $120 for two of the dresses. Now that I have them both back, I must say I'm not satisfy with her work at all. The one where she charged me $65 to fix, she didn't even fix the back. So when I tried it on at the store, the back was not flat. I don't know why I didn't notice this when I was being fitted before the alteration. It might not have been that apparent when it was loose all around but now that the front is fixed, the back doesn't look too good. So instead of doing it for free, she wanted to charge me another $10 to fix. Isn't her job as the seamstress to make sure the dress fits me and if she didn't catch it at first, I would expect her to fix it. She said, "oh we were concentrating so much on the front, we didn't look at the back." Really???? I didn't have time to wait nor do I want to spend another $10 for her to fix something that should have been caught by her professional "eyes". The second dress she did for me didn't fit right either. It's now too tight. Perhaps I should have complaint and not pay her but I just didn't want to bother anymore. I'm not going back to her. Time to look for another seamstress. read more

My Mother and I had our dresses altered for my son's upcoming wedding in July. Jenny meticulously altered both dresses so you can't even tell that they were altered. My Mother's dress needed to have the zipper removed and re sewn and the skirt of her dress needed to be shorten so Jenny had to remove the bodice to shorten the whole dress. She also altered the front of the dress so it would gape open. My dress was shortened and the bodice was taken in so it wouldn't bag out. Great job by Jenny and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. He loves a couple of pairs of jeans, and she has repaired them, much to my amazement, as they seemed to be at end-of-life. Jenny's worked on slimming down a pair of dress pants and I'm very satisfied with the results.

I needed to find a good tailor and lucked out with Jenny. I bought what I thought was a fitted peacoat, but it was more loose than I remembered. I brought my peacoat to Jenny and she quoted me $81 to get the sides taken in and to realign the buttons. I first thought this was way too expensive, but a friend told me I would know if it was too expensive when I get the final product back. I was happy with my peacoat and thought it was worth every penny. I will definitely be coming back in the future. read more

Came here to get my dress alter. Lady was very nice, but didn't seem to want to listen as soon as she saw my dress. Don't know if she was lying, lazy or didn't know how to alter but my dress needed some serious alternation from a size 6 to a size 4 and all i got from her was "dress is fine" then nearly booted me out the door. I bought a sample wedding dress and I wanted to get some major alterations done. After searching online and reading reviews, I decided to take my dress to Jenny. She did an awesome job with my dress. It was an A-line with a petticoat. When I came in, I explained what I wanted and gave her some pictures of what I had in mind and she helped me remove the petticoat on the spot. She pinned the dress while I still had it on. I changed my dress from an A-line to a fit and flare (not quite mermaid), and it looked awesome. Just what I wanted. read more

Omg i love Jenny! I am the biggest procrastinator ever and gave her my prom dress 2 days prior to the event and had to pick it up the afternoon of prom day. Despite her full rack of dresses and other items on the side of the room that also needed tailoring, Jenny tailored my dress perfectly given the critically limited time. She pretty much transformed the dress for me: cut the front ruffles so it was an asymmetrical "high low" dress, sewed extra layers of chiffon on the back to make it longer and flower, took in the sides, and offered helpful input. Not to mention, the piece of chiffon I gave her to sew was from Joann's and was frayed and wasn't hemmed, yet she sewed it so it looked like part of the original dress. Yes, I was probably an incredibly difficult customer with a million requests, but she stayed calm and friendly the whole time, inputting where she could improve the fit for me, as in taking in the waist, and charged a highly reasonable price. Jenny made a simple dress into the exact image I had of my dream dress and I was SO happy with her work! Returning customer definitely, and would without a doubt recommend! :) read more
