Dr. Factor is as good as it gets, the best of the best, and a true mensch - a man of character, due special respect, honor, dignity, and... well, look it up if you don't know what it means. Dr. Factor was one of several periodontists I consulted for the gingival grafting I needed because of aging and too strenuous brushing from my youth. I was treated as an intelligent adult and shown my options. Dr. Factor showed before and after photos of cases similar to mine and talked about the results I could expect. He was willing to work with my insurance company - which another periodontist I consulted with could not be bothered to do. As a matter of fact, my orthodontist snidely made a comment about going to "an HMO dentist," i.e., a dentist who would consider accepting HMO insurance. Well, the results Dr. Factor obtained were way above and beyond what the other physicians - who touted themselves so loudly and who looked down their nose at taking my insurance - were able to show me regarding THEIR cases. I researched Dr. Factor's background and experience. I required a C.V. from all physicians I consulted with, some of whom balked at providing this most BASIC of research requests to a patient. Dr. Factor promptly provided his. Please request it if you are thinking of using Dr. Factor. You will be duly impressed. But the proof is in the pudding. My gums are now at the level of a 20-year-old, and they are holding. The surgery was a resounding success. My out-of-pocket expenses were substantially less than I ever expected. My surgery was PAINLESS. My recovery was relatively painless, also. And his staff, as the other reviewer stated, are beyond wonderful. I love them all! I want to thank my regular dentist, Dr. Kashani, for referring me to Dr. Factor. Dr. Kashani also referred me to another "HMO" dentist for a root canal, Dr. Sigrid Parry, who is an endodontist, and she was another fabulous physician. So every referral by Dr. Kashani has been as good as gold. It is terrifying to put your health in the hands of a periodontist for major surgery, and no matter how good the referral, the C.V., the prior cases, eventually you have to just trust you have made the right choice. I can assure you that, without hesitation, I recommend Dr. Factor. As an anecdotal story, my neighbor said a mutual neighbor of ours had the exact same surgery (by a different periodontist) the same week I had mine, and her surgery was a complete failure and had to be redone. So guess who my friend will choose for her gum surgery? Not the one the mutual neighbor chose. It's TRULY scary out there, folks. Dr. Factor and his staff get an A++++++ rating from me. Unfortunately for me I have had to have 2 separate implants and also 2 separate crown lengthening (gum surgery) an extraction and a bone graft!!! But fortunately I had all procedures done with Dr. Factor who is absolutely the best! He is so patient, he will answer all your questions and explains things perfectly. I have never opted for IV sedation and I have never felt any pain, his work is perfection, and he asks if you are doing OK all throughout the procedures. Dr. Factor is a very caring, thoughtful, compassionate and feeling individual. I had two implants that were not happy about being in my mouth. Dr. Factor knows how much I just detest going to the dentist for anything. On this visit, he took care of the problems. Pulled, cleaned, medicated and sewed up one issue and cleaned and medicated the other. All in one visit with IV Sedation and a pill the night before and two in the morning. When I woke up, it was all done. The next day his office even took the time to call and check on me. When I went back for a followup two weeks later, all was healed and the swelling was gone. Dr.Factor did an extraction and bone graft for me recently. This was my 1st ever extraction and I was a bit apprehensive. Dr and his staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease about the whole process. The office staff is very friendly and professional. It's so refreshing to go to a doctor's office, and actually be seen without having to wait. You walk back to the treatment area feeling the positive effects of having your time valued. When I first came here, I have pretty bad dental-phobia. Dr. Factor has greatly reduced my anxiety when it comes to dental work. Not just that he provides a pain free experience, but he's so friendly and genuine, it really takes your mind off of being in the chair. I have to get a cleaning every three months for the rest of my teeth-having years, and I am glad Dr. Factor is younger than me, because I would be bummed if he retired before I'm done with him! If you are ever in need of Periodontal or Implant Dentistry, let me tell you about Dr. Jeremy Factor and his magnificent Team. I was referred to Dr. Factor on August 22nd, 2012, through my Dr. Michael Gavin, Endodontist, DDS after he had had an exhaustive effort of ridding Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) in the root system of tooth number 12, with limited success. I was in pain, and was immediately scheduled to be seen by Dr. Factor on Friday, August 24th, 2012 @ 3pm, without even authorization from my insurance for payment. I was impressed from the very start. I was pleasantly greeted by Pam and Teresa at the reception desk. I brought my completed paperwork as well as x-rays from both Dr. Reidler's (DDS) and Dr. Gavin's. Victoria and Kassy dental assistant's both helped me settle in, as I am disabled. They were so conscientious about making me as comfortable as they possibly could. They were both clear, polite, and personable. Dr. Factor came in a timely fashion. He shook my hand, introduced himself. He read and reviewed my entire questionnaire, commenting on its' thoroughness. He explained what he was going to do prior to touching me. Outstanding, compassionate dental chair (bedside) manner. He caught on that I was an RN and professional, but he spoke clearly, not assuming I would "just know"-which I appreciated. He was so interested in my situation; empathetically commenting on all I'd been through since April 2011 when my "Nightmare" began. I had informed all staff in advance of my MRSA and it's contagiousness. He knew and took universal precautions. He did a thorough examination. I informed him that I was on an antibiotic, he wanted to move onto surgery as soon as possible so as to reduce my distress and maximize the benefit of the Clindamycin (ATB) I was taking for infection. He booked my without authorization, only asking for what cost that my insurance would cover if approved. He wanted to help me. I was scheduled for the next Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 @ 11:30am. He extracted the root of #12 as worked over 2 hours extensively cleaning anteriorly and posteriorly my upper teeth side to side. He was as gentle as possible with all the local anesthesia, lidocaine shots...bunches of TLC from all. Complete instructions given and scheduled for suture removal on Friday, September 7th, 2012. Kassy did an exceptional gentle job of removing the bandages, and sutures. All looked to be healing very well. I was given enough pain medication to keep pain levels manageable, without triggering my addiction (I am a recovering addict and alcoholic). He was cautious but made sure I was kept comfortable. I had no withdrawal symptoms. I came back for another recheck on September 27th at noon with some gum/palate swelling. He did not like how the tissue was granulating in. He explained his concerns. I was booked for a revision, excision, for today, October 4th, 2012 at 11:30am. Today, I was greeted by Teresa at the front desk in her usual warm, friendly manner. I shared my fear about the shots, she listened and shared compassionately with me. I hardly had time to sit down before Kassy came to get me. Victoria greeted me, I felt so welcomed and at home. Both Kassy and Victoria came in and visited with me (not each other). They helped prepare me. They both demonstrated genuine interest in me. While waiting a few minutes for the good doctor, we engaged in professional conversation. I have been a RN and Educator for 36 years; I taught nurses to be compassionate, caring, and observant. These woman shared and cared for me, TLC overflowing. Dr. Factor is the "Real Deal". I just had to put it in writing. I really love the treatment and TLC I have consistently received from these wonderful professionals. No one paid me to say what I have. I wrote from a grateful heart. Time for more ice. I went to see Dr. Factor for my tooth extraction and implant, at the recommendation of my usual dentist. I was initially apprehensive since my last implant was done by a different oral surgeon. However, the staff with the previous surgeon was very rude and not helpful in getting me an appointment. In contrast, Dr. Factor's staff was friendly and got me in within a week. Dr. Factor was very friendly and respectful. He took the time to explain the procedure and risks. I would prefer to do the tooth extraction and tissue build-up and implant at the same time so that there will be only one major office visit. He explained the potential risks but advised me that it might work. In the end, I made an informed decision to go for it. He did an excellent job in the surgery and the implant has worked out beautifully. read more

I was referred to Dr. Factor for a dental implant surgery. I was very impressed with his anesthesia techniques as I didn't experience any of the usual "dead feeling" afterwards in the usual areas (tongue, lips, etc.). The implant procedure was quite painless, very efficient and Dr. Factor has a very great sense of humor and put me at ease while he is performing the procedure. Before I knew it he was completed. Afterward I felt like i didn't go through implant surgery which is good because i was very apprehensive going into it. Now I plan on having Dr. Factor do some additional implants in the near future and I would highly recommend Dr. Factor to anyone who is considering an implant surgery.
