I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. I was expecting $18 value platter but received a ($15) value platter. It appears it may come alive at night -- with a DJ, happy hour specials, and a lounge vibe. We waited too long to send them back and risk waiting another hour!!! I've had some delicious Honey Lemon Pepper and this had no semblance of it. I tasted some Honey & it was from the plate and not the wingette. The Rice & Beans was dry. The Chicken patty was overcooked. Never saw a burnt one in a Restaurant or at least not served to someone. We wasn't drunk enough to enjoy the food. (I don't drink so... was not working for me ). The Coco Bread was good (probably because they didn't have to cook it). I'm guessing some people find this as being extra friendly when talking to black people but I find it unprofessional and belittling. She run me up on the tablet and only showed me the price. I gave her my payment and ask for the receipt when I noticed that it asked me to give additional gratuity for single digit percentages. Knowing that only occurs when an automatic gratuity is added on to your bill, I asked to see the receipt. She wasn't able to show me the receipt because she already charged my payment. I asked if gratuity was already included and she said it was a service fee. And then asked how much was it and informed her I wanted to see what I was charged so she pulled it up on another device to show me how much the service fee was. Why did I have to ask and why was this not told to me ahead of time? I'm so over restaurants charging automatic gratuity or service fee, giving you crappy service, and then hiding the fact is already included. Don't show me how much I owe, show me everything that I purchased so I can make sure I was charged correctly. Now this was easy because I only ordered one drink. Also, it was not written on the menu that gratuity was automatically added either. Part of me is so over it.

This is extremely concerning from both a quality and food safety standpoint. I understand mistakes can happen in a busy kitchen, but serving raw fish when it is supposed to be fully cooked is unacceptable and could potentially make someone seriously ill. I hope management takes food preparation and temperature checks more seriously moving forward because no customer should have to worry about food safety while dining out. The atmosphere was nice, but the food experience definitely needs improvement.
