Unfortunately, the food was less than edible. I couldn't eat my "bourbon glazed" salmon dinner. It was overcooked, bland, and the "glaze" was literally just brushed on after it was "grilled". There was zero flavor other than the tiny amount I would get with each bite from the bourbon sauce. But, that was quickly overshadowed by the pain in my jaw from chewing the dry salmon, and the absolutely abysmal excuse for rice pilaf. My water had more flavor. The plates were piping hot, but the food was not. That was the case for everything we had there. The service was below subpar. The waiter we had did not check on us at all. We had to wait way too long for our food. Things we ordered weren't even offered there anymore, but they're still on the menu... it was a total disaster. Overall, I would not recommend. I've had better food microwaved from the frozen food aisle of the grocery store. I've had better food from a hospital cafeteria. Finally, the environmental impact is troubling. We saw a baby alligator sitting in shallow water next to trash from the restaurant. There was trash all throughout the dock area. I witnessed wait staff emptying drinks over the railing into the greenery next to the lake. Just awful behavior. Someone needs to come in there and tighten it up because honestly disappointed isn't even close to how I felt from a simple meal. Again, stay away. read more

I had written this place off after a change of ownership left it with subpar food and indifferent service. My wife kept going back and insisted things had turned around. She was right. I hate when that happens. Mid-Saturday afternoon, good crowd, zero wait. Drinks first -- Tito's Moscow Mule for me, Angry Orchard for her. Both spot on. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos: corn tortillas, slaw, slightly spicy aioli, topped with thin pickled red onions. Very, very good -- and I don't hand out two "verys" lightly. The Mrs. had the bang bang shrimp flatbread, which was tasty enough that she only shared one bite. Our server Mia was fantastic -- attentive without hovering, asked all the right questions, kept things moving perfectly. The ambiance is still the star. Right on Lake Tarpon with their own marina -- come by boat if you can. Just don't swim. About 16 miles of gator-infested shoreline out there, so admire the view from dry land. There's a 3% credit card surcharge, which I have opinions about, but it happens to match my cash back rate so the universe balanced out. One hard-earned tip: do NOT sit outside near sunset. We made that mistake once and were swarmed by mosquitoes the second the sun went down -- full aerial assault, no survivors. The view through a window is just as nice, and you'll keep all your blood. You are greeted RIGHT away with "good mornings" as you are being seated from all staff, Very welcoming! I had the Cuban Egg Benedict, and I love eggs Benny's BUT THIS WAS THE BEST I EVER HAD! seriously... They have the BEST bottomless mimosas! You can have classic, peach, blackberry, and cranberry-I had them all! Lol! All were very delicious, my favorite was peach! Wow! Tarpon Turtle is located in a neighborhood of houses. If you are not from the area, it's best to use navigation to get here. But once you get here, be ready for a wonderful experience Most of all, choose to sit out by the water under one of the tiki benches. Great music is piped throughout the restaurant and it is not loud. It is just right and quite frankly I like the music. When I pulled in Madonna's Vogue, was playing! Looking over the menu, I started with a very popular drink the Blue Note Bourbon Old Fashion. In the glass also included an old-fashioned large ice cube a lemon twist, and this cherry that was soaked in bourbon that was delicious. This cocktail was amazing, that I had to have two! Next step I ordered the Chili, this chili was sweet yet had a kick. I savored every bite of it, and the sour cream on the side was great when included on the spoonful. In this dish also were corn, beans, diced tomatoes, red onion, of course, the chili, Mexican cheese, and green onion, topping it off. To say this chili was on point would be an understatement. I heard from many that this was delicious and I had to try it, this was the best chili I ever had. After the appetizer went down, I ordered the grouper sandwich blackened on a lovely toasted roll with a spongy top that was so fresh. There was a generous portion of grouper, blackened perfectly. Served as a side were some hand cut french fried potatoes, lightly seasoned and salted. These were just OK. I think they were sitting. But I'll give the chef a Mulligan. For dessert, I tried their Keylime pie. It really was a cheesecake with Keylime sauce on the sides of it. I liked it. There was a perfect bite from the key lime mixed in with the cheesecake. With the whip whipped cream on top this was a perfect ending to a wonderful experience. Katie, my server was so knowledgeable, I really want to know....Is there anything on this menu she hasn't tried? I had some questions about some of the dishes and boy she had answers. All positive of course. She was the plethora of information, and all of it was on point. Her recommendations were wonderful and much appreciated. She was so attentive and well deserving of the 24% tip Out on the back deck was so relaxing over overlooking the water, the seagulls, the flying crows, the docks the boats it just all was amazing. Was super experience, gator bites and crab stuffed shrimp tasted great and the service was very good

The TT is quite the essential Florida restaurant and you should definitely experience the weekend vibe. Every music genre from John Denver to Taylor Swift was playing while we were there for brunch. We opted for inside seats because it was quite windy and the lake midge flies were swarming the parking lot and we didn't want to swat them while eating. Hailey S. was our waitstaff and as the brunch crowd came in she was busy and kept up with the pace quite well! I had a perfectly made Bloody Mary with olives and bacon which was pretty good with the lime. The celery stalk was old and not a good idea for serving, personally I think the celery should be very crunchy. We all ordered from "the new brunch menu" which had some pretty great names for the good comfort foods we had. The portions were just right and always served on heated plates. My wife said her crab cakes were very fishy tasting but it apparently didn't stop her from finishing them both. The FTM was very much like a monte cristo for breakfast. I added maple syrup and it was delicious. Take the time to walk out to the lake afterwards and enjoy one of the largest lakes on this part of coastal Florida. read more

This was a Saturday 11:30 AM reservation. We made a reservation for 12 people at least two weeks in advance and when we got there, they put us at this giant picnic table on the backside of the restaurant with no fans you're up against the wall so first it was super hot. Secondly, the table hadn't even been wiped off. The chairs had cobwebs on them, and I kind of got a little bit of attitude from the girl when I asked her to you know clean it up. And the stools that were there were meant for 20-year-olds I had three people close to 80 and the rest over 50. I was like I'm gonna need some better chairs. And I did ask if we could be moved to a different table and she went away and then she came back like I don't know maybe 10 minutes later and said based on their reservations there weren't any available tables now we were there for almost 2 hours and in the timeframe the tables that I asked for nobody sat at them. No, I am definitely giving credit to Melissa who was our server. She did a great job and most of the food was pretty good, but I can't give you a better review when that's the kind of service we got to start with. Maybe the restaurant should ask are your people able to sit at barstools that have no backs and no cushions. read more

First time here and we were blown away by the attentiveness of the staff, who are all enthusiastic engaged in providing you with a great experience. A nice restaurant right on Lake Tarpon. The view really could not get much better. Was there on a perfect late winter warm day and enjoyed sitting outside. They have plenty of sales up and shade so the sun does not beat on you. The service was quite friendly and knowledgeable. The server was very attentive constantly refilling our beverages. The food was bland and dry. When I pay this much for food I expect good quality. The service was extremely disappointing as well. We never got checked on as we were eating and also waited a good 30 mins to order our food. It was also extremely upsetting to see drinks being dumped into the lake by the staff. Went for lunch today. Beautiful day on the water but unfortunately the food was just ok, the service was subpar. No one at the hostess station, then when three showed up they did not know what to do. The food came and then waited almost 5 min before I got up and went to the service station to get my silverware and napkins. Yep, I got it myself. No one insight. No one noticed we did have the proper tools to dine. With the prices the way they are. I'd highly recommend this place step up their Customer Service game. Stumbled upon this little spot in Tarpon on a Saturday afternoon and decided to have brunch. There's plenty of seating inside and outside, we opted for outside as the weather was beautiful and sitting by the water was so nice. Our server was nice and helpful, great service the whole time we were there. I ordered the crab cake Benedict - it was delicious, I'd order it again. My husband ordered the Cuban Benedict and he said he really enjoyed it. The Bloody Mary was also fantastic - they garnish it beautifully and it's balanced well, add a splash of cholula and it's basically the perfect Bloody Mary. The restaurant itself is kind of tucked away, but it gives it a sort of serene feeling on the water away from the main roads and the busy streets. We loved our visit, we'll be back. read more

Food: For the most part, the food was bland and very much overpriced. The Alfredo was very watery, shrimp was good but its shrimp. Kids Mac n Cheese is a tiny bowl of Kraft Mac n Cheese for $12. The Fish n Chips, the fish was undercooked and the batter was still gooey. Atmosphere: The restaurant itself apart from the food is pretty great, outside you overlook the Tarpon Lake, they've great tables, spacing is great, outside tables have umbrellas. Very good atmosphere, though there is restaurant trash in the lake. Service: The service was decent, nothing special. I love the atmosphere, but price for quality isn't here. Food is not worth the price tag in the slightest. I came to this conclusion based on taste, and portions. As Such I do not recommend unless you plan on consuming enough alcohol to forget the taste and price of the food and just enjoy the view, and ambiance of the restaurant itself. read more

Tarpon turtle is a great spot for water view dining in tarpon springs! The deck is super nice and great for pictures, I had no clue how pretty lake tarpon could be! The food is Caribbean inspired and my favorite items were the ceviche stuffed avocado and the coconut shrimp. My only disappointment was the dessert. The ice cream sundae was very misleading; instead of being an actual ice cream sundae, the dessert was a waffle with one scoop of ice cream on top. I found that to be misleading and disappointing. Besides the dessert confusion, the menu was solid and I really enjoyed my experience here and would come back. read more

We've been here a few times in the last year with former work buddies, and friends. Sunday, June 30, we came to celebrate my birthday with a dear friend who drove from Port Richey to enjoy our company and the food. The service was good, and my friend and I enjoyed our entrees. But Husband thought our server, Nathan, could have been more attentive. He seemed rushed, and a large party of ten might have been more taxing than our table of 3. Husband asked about the chicken fajitas, and Nathan said they were good. So he ordered them. But the chicken was grilled - dry, & not cooked with the veggies. The corn tortillas were soft, dried out and falling apart - they did not seem steamed. In fact, when we get fajitas at other venues, they always come out sizzling and smoking, with a rich aroma. Not here. Husband put salt on everything, without getting any flavor. When the manager came by, Husband told him what was not to his liking. He let him know that he was not happy. The manager did offer Husband another entree, but by this time, Husband said he was full. I ordered the crab cakes with yellow rice, and asparagus. All of it was very good! Friend ordered the spinach and mushroom flatbread, and she liked it a lot. She offered me a slice and i enjoyed it, too. But I preferred my crab cakes ! For my birthday, Nathan brought me a chocolate tortilla shell with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and sprinkles and a candle on top. I tried to share, but Husband and friend declined to use the spoons provided for them. I enjoyed celebrating my birthday here. Next time, Husband will order fish of a burger. My dad is obsessed with this restaurant so we've ended up here twice in a two week span. It's a beautiful little spot with an outdoor patio - and that sounds miserable in Florida summer but it's been fairly breezy when we've been and they have some fans out there. It's right on the lake so that helps. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer is on point. It's a good portion and moderately spicy. We love it & got two orders for the family to share. You can change the sauce on it if you want it spicier or less spicy. The grilled wings are where it's at. A majority of our group got them both visits. The bbq and teriyaki are phenomenal. The wings are juicy & have a nice little char on them. They come in either six or twelve and I recommend twelve so you can take leftovers. The container they give you for to go is foil so it works great for reheating in the oven. I got ribs one of the visits and they were fall off the bone. Their bbq sauce has a great flavor to it, very sweet. And the fries that come with it are crispy & fresh. Second visit we got dessert, I got the lava cake. It wasn't the best I ever had or anything but it was tasty! Needs a bigger portion of ice cream with it imo. I'm sure we'll be back to visit many times in the future. read more

Met some friends from church at one of their favorite restaurants. We met for a late lunch and were seated right away, at a great window view of the water. Our server Ezekiel brought menus and drinks and we made our choices. We had Bermuda Chicken Bowl, Fish & Chips, Original TT Burger and Coconut Shrimp. I thought about the Hemingway Chicken but I knew that my wife would wish she had ordered the Coconut Shrimp instead of a burger. We also ordered a starter of Buffalo Cauliflower. Our friends were newlyweds that were moving from Florida to Texas so it was a personal farewell dinner. We talked while waiting a bit then our starter came. Everyone loved the Buffalo Cauliflower. A bit spicy for them and a bit mild for us. First time they had tried it. Our plates came in good time while we enjoyed the view and conversation. The Fish & Chips were great, as was the Bowl our friends ate. Sure enough I had to share half my excellent Coconut Shrimp with her. She ordered her burger medium but it was way overdone. Both of us immediately noticed that there were only a few small pieces of chicken in our meals. The entrees were not super cheap so you would expect at least a modest amount of protein. The quality of the food was also mediocre at best. If you're looking for great atmosphere and good service this is your place.
