I had intended to enjoy lunch at one of the more popular and more visible restaurants on the main strip but the traffic and parking was absolutely crazy so that wasn't going to happen. Turned down a random side road and found this restaurant - so very glad that I decided to stop here for lunch! Fortunately they had a parking lot, small and very tight, but it worked. Lots of seating indoors and some outdoors as well. I choose the indoor seating since the outside seating is very close to the road. A very big menu, enough choices to satisfy everyone. We got an open face gyro platter with oven roasted potatoes, salad, and chicken soup. The food was delicious. I would certainly order our meals again. I have to tell you that the portions are huge! And that's a good thing because I like to eat a lot, you just need to be aware of the large portions if you're ordering appetizers etc with a meal. A couple at the table next to us had ordered a fried calamari appetizer and it looked so beautiful - lightly breaded and fried to a delicious golden color. I was honestly wishing I could try their calamari, LOL. But the portions are incredibly huge, the other table ended taking a lot offood home with them when they left. Overall this place was great - delicious food, good service, very clean restrooms.

Costas is a small looking restaurant that is actually huge. There is seating inside and out. We came for a drink around 9pm-ish and sat outside. I enjoyed my large $7.99 Coronarita, but my friends Jalapeño margaritas wasnt a hit. They used pickled jalapeños, which is odd. Very affordable. I like the picture board for their meals. It looked old, so i think dishes would pop more if it was updated. We didnt eat so I cant speak on food. Staff was friendly and it was a good night to sit on the tables on sidewalk. This side street off the main Docadenese street doesn't get as much traffic but is still pretty lively. Definitely worth walking a block or so off the main sponge dock road.

. I can't recommend Costas enough. It's a little hidden gem just a short walk from the waterfront, and I always bring friends and family here. The food is traditional and truly makes you feel like you're dining in a charming Greek island village. It's affordable, and the service is fast and friendly

Here are my photos! I wanted to make sure everyone got to see the delicious Dolmades dinner with a cup of minestrone soup.

Recently visited after wife had been here once before and had an amazing visit. Her and her friends had several apps and loved everything. So flavorful and fresh they couldn't stop talking about it. So her and I went in to just grab a gyro before going out. The first girl who waited on us didn't understand that we wanted to share a gyro, so someone else came out after five minutes or so to clarify. No biggie, but thought gyro was pretty standard. Super friendly service and our gyro came out a few minutes later...as you can see...it's big!! We shared and were plenty full after. We did note the lamb was a bit crispy/overcooked, and the tzatziki sauce was plentiful (which was nice)...but didn't have a lot of zing to the sauce. Wish it was a little tangier, and the meat not so well done. We'll come back though as there are so many options to choose from and service was friendly!

My family & I had a nice time visiting Costa's restaurant. We ordered a plethora of food and sat inside by the window. The restaurant itself is nicely designed and has a private parking lot for its guests which we appreciated. They do have outdoor seating as well. The inside feels a bit tight and it was unclear where the host stand was to find out where to sit. As far as the food, the saganaki was well prepared. The Greek salad was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. The moussaka was missing a bit of flavor but the dolomites and the gyro meat were fantastic. The service was alright but wished we had received a bit more attention. The drink specials are fantastic at this location as well. Especially the fact that a large pitcher of beer is $8.99. That should be noted as well. Thanks Costa's!

Had to have my hand hold the sandwich to show the massive size of this thing! The restaurant is located toward the end of the main hub of shops and we learned about it because people were passing out menus with a coupon for a free slice of baklava. They had a lot of veggie options so knew I had to check it out. Not only was the falafel sandwich flavorful and giant, it was also affordable! 12.99 for this massively filling sandwich, the ingredients were falling out of the pita other was so stuffed. We also were served fast and thr staff were all friendly.

First time here & first time to try octopus & calamari that wasn't fried. Both were excellent. They had a delicious olive oil, lemon sauce with Greek seasoning. The Greek salad was excellent too. We had a very nice server who patiently answered all our questions. We will be returning!

    Complementary Baklava at lunch

We stopped here for lunch after being handed on one corner, menus from three restaurants. We sat on a bench there, and decided on Costas. The lunch special we selected and shared, was a Roasted Lamb Souvlaki with all the toppings, including a Greek Salad, for $16.99. We also ordered a 2for1 draft beer, Amberbock, $4.99, and a complementary Baklava dessert. The salad was huge and included the classic potato salad on the bottom and perfectly seasoned with the perfect amount of dressing and crispy Romaine lettuce and plenty of Feta cheese. We were also brought complementary bread and spread. The Lamb Souvlaki came rolled up in parchment and aluminum foil and was so packed and large, I ended up unrolling it on a plate and eating it with a knife and fork. The lamb was in chunks and was tender and tasty, and the the pita bread had a nice chew. The complimentary Baklava was as good as any I've eaten. What a very affordable lunch that we shared and really filled us both up. I highly recommend and would definitely return.

While it may not look as glamorous as some of the other restaurants in Tarpon springs, the value and quality here is easily as good as if not better than any of the others. Don't skip this place! Brought family here late and we were sat and catered to like we owned the place! Portions are great and food is excellent!

"Lamb Gyro with fresh tzatziki -- tender, flavorful, and made right"

A True Taste of Greece in the Heart of Tarpon Springs My family and I visited Tarpon Springs on November 15th for the Seafood Festival and decided to grab lunch nearby. We passed several places, but Costas Restaurant was absolutely packed -- and now I know why. We followed the crowd and ended up finding one of the best Greek meals we've ever had in Florida. From the moment we walked in, you could feel the energy of a well-loved local spot. Service was fast, friendly, and genuine -- the kind of place that clearly takes pride in its food and its reputation. I ordered the lamb gyro, and it was perfection. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, wrapped in soft, warm pita. The tzatziki sauce was spot-on -- creamy, garlicky, and bright with just the right tang of lemon. You can tell it's made fresh every day. We also had the fried clam strips, and they were done exactly right -- crisp, golden, and full of flavor without being greasy. The batter was light and seasoned perfectly. Every bite tasted fresh. It's easy to see why Costas is such a staple in the Tarpon Springs community. They don't just serve food; they serve the heart of Greek heritage. Sitting right in the middle of this beautiful town, surrounded by shops, waterfront charm, and that warm small-town magic, it's the kind of place that stays with you long after the meal ends. Whether you're a local or just visiting Florida, make time to stop here. Costas captures everything that makes Tarpon Springs special -- great people, incredible food, and a true sense of community.

There was zero flavor other than the tiny amount I would get with each bite from the bourbon sauce. But, that was quickly overshadowed by the pain in my jaw from chewing the dry salmon, and the absolutely abysmal excuse for rice pilaf. My water had more flavor. The plates were piping hot, but the food was not. That was the case for everything we had there. The service was below subpar. The waiter we had did not check on us at all. We had to wait way too long for our food. Things we ordered weren't even offered there anymore, but they're still on the menu... it was a total disaster. Overall, I would not recommend. I've had better food microwaved from the frozen food aisle of the grocery store. I've had better food from a hospital cafeteria. Finally, the environmental impact is troubling. We saw a baby alligator sitting in shallow water next to trash from the restaurant. There was trash all throughout the dock area. I witnessed wait staff emptying drinks over the railing into the greenery next to the lake. Just awful behavior. Someone needs to come in there and tighten it up because honestly disappointed isn't even close to how I felt from a simple meal. Again, stay away.

Not only was he funny and genuinely enjoyable to talk to, but he provided excellent service from start to finish. He definitely added to the overall experience.
