Great tasty spicy jerk tilapia and the fried plantains are a nice amount and the rice and peas was tasty too

I guess I will get in the habit of writing reviews. I hate to do this, but it is needed. The young lady who is working the front desk needs to find her purpose because clearly she is impatient and irritable. Owner, she is going to cost your establishment thousands in lost revenue, if she doesn't tighten up- I dont care if she is family. The food doesn't fit the price and I feel that if the customer service is poor, least let the food be worth it. I will consider removing this review upon hearing that things have improved at your establishment. read more

I wish a -0 star was available. I ordered a 1/2 mixed chicken with a beef patty. The chicken was old and reheated or over cooked the patty was greasy and dry. I called back to inform them of the issue and the representative seemed very unconcerned. read more

The thing about no longer living in the city proper is Caribbean restaurants tend to get thin. I passed Jerk N Go while going to a neighboring restaurant in the strip mall area. I ordered a jerk taco that was more jerk pita. It felt like eating a Middle Eastern shawarma. Full of flavor and dry at the same time. That was surprising because the jerk chicken that I ordered was tender and juicy. With the jerk chicken, I had cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and pice and peas. The restaurant looks like it draws more takeaway customers than dine-in. The food isn't bad, and I'm not being unfair by using my Jamaican family as a litmus test. My timing may have been off. They burned them so bad they taste scorched. They also gave me bones in my plate. Just burned bones. I can't make this up. When I called they told me to bring it back tomorrow to exchange. I came in yesterday around 6pm , No one was waiting , I was the only customer and the young lady that was at the counter on the phone , never acknowledged me nor did she say I'll be right with you or hold on please , she steady on the phone smiling and laughing and when she was done "taking the order " she looked at me then proceeded to the kitchen and still did not say I'll be right with you . The food is delicious and fresh. The prices are cheap and reasonable. Definitly go here if you get the chance and you will not regret it. Staff is fast, efficient and very friendly. Do be advised there is only a small seating area(about 4 tables) so this scrumptious meal would probably be best enjoyed at home. I love Jamaican food and I so want to love this place. But I cannot. The food is inconsistent at best. It's never very clean. And the service is hit or miss. The last visit was the worst. Long wait. I placed the order online and at 6:45 PM. The email stated the order will be ready for pick up at 7:12. I 7:15 and was told order was not ready. I stood and waited around 745 a bunch were called a bunch of orders were placed on the shelf near the register. My name was not called. I wait around 812. I asked for them to check on my order. They looked on the shelf and said oh here it is and it has been sitting on the shelf since 745. The two young ladies at the register, have a condescending attitude and act like customers asking questions was bothering them. This establishment does not ever have to worry about me crossing their threshold again this is a horrible place and they have a horrible attitude. Placed an order inside the business, I was told 20 minutes for my food. I ended up waiting an hour only to learn that the business was out of white meat. After I questioned why my order was taking so long, I was informed 20 more minute. Customer after customer came into the business to place an order, that is when I learned that they were out of white meat. This is when I was offered dark meat instead. Why would you continue to take orders for white chicken when you did not have any ready. I was then asked would I be willing to substitute for dark meat. At this point I just wanted a refund. I cannot understand their whole process. This place is terrible, just trying to collect money and run. Be honest with your customers and inform them with what's going on, most will wait. This was a terrible experience with this place. It was my family's first time ordering from here and we will never be back. We ordered a pan of jerk chicken for our Christmas Eve party at 12:19PM and was informed that our order will be ready at 5:30PM. I returned at 5:30PM and was told that they were still working on the food and those who ordered days before for catering would be priority. Those who ordered days prior were waiting for their food longer than some of the people who ordered their food the day of. Our complaints were met by disrespect from the owner and the only cook who was talking about the costumers as if we weren't there and couldn't hear them. The owner said that we should be grateful that he was being nice for allowing us to order food despite having orders his restaurant hadn't fulfilled from days prior. It got so bad a man had to call the police to receive a refund. I waited for 2 hours for some mediocre jerk chicken. As a manager/owner, how are you angry at costumers who are angry because you promised a service and that service wasn't fulfilled? Many people's event was over by the time they received their chicken. Along with me, it was about 7 other people who ordered pans of chicken at 12PM and was told to come back at 5:30PM and forced to wait as the owner and cook was talking about us. Not to mention, for catering orders, they require you to pay cash. To me, this suggests that they knew they would be behind and to keep people from disputing charges and leaving without their food, they forced people to pay in cash and wait as they played around in the back and refused refunds. My favorite Jerk Chicken in the South Suburbs! I've eaten Jerk-N-Go plenty of times, yet is always been on my Dad's dime and time. Today was my first time going on my own. I called in my order of Jerk White Dinner, with Rice and Peas (red beans and rice) and corn. I was given a 25 minute wait time, yet my food was ready in about 18 when I got there. They are located in a mini mall off of Volmer Road right across the street from The Kingsberry Pancake House. The restaurant is very clean and offers seating to dine in. The food is ALWAYS fresh and tastes amazing...that's the part that never changes. What does change is their consistency with packing to-go orders (only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars). There has been a time or two where my father has arrived with food, and we were missing an order of Plantain or something along those lines. If this review was solely based on the taste of the food, I'd give them 4, maybe even 5 stars. HOWEVER, their service is terrible. There were 3 people waiting for their food, but I was only getting a jerk chicken wrap on a spinach tortilla, so I figured I could be in and out within 5 to 10 minutes. MISTAKE. First thing to tick me off...they have the audacity to charge an extra 4% to use a credit card. Well no one carries cash like that in 2018. Also, as a business, you decided to take credit cards. Therefore, you pay your own processing fees. Don't pass that to your customers to cover. The cashier didn't mention the fee, I guess the sign was a good enough notification in their eyes. Second thing to tick me off...SEVERAL people came and went and I still hadn't gotten my wrap. Call in's, people who went outside to wait for their orders and came back in. The lady who took my order had even left out to go buy supplies, came back, and I was still waiting. She was the only one that acknowledged that I was still waiting. She asked me my order number then looked around and said, it'll be right up. Wellllll, she never even gave my order to the cook. Third thing to tick me off...20 plus minutes after I originally ordered, my food came out. NO APOLOGY. Not even an acknowledgement of their mistake. Nothing to better the situation because I know she could tell I was pissed. Not that I wanted anything free but a little customer service goes a long way when someone is spending money at your establishment. The wrap was good. Very good as a matter of fact. The sides were mac and cheese, with cabbage and the customary rice amd peas. Mac and cheeae2was fine, cannage was good..roce and peas were ok. I really dont like that orange hraby on it. But, ao many jerk places give auxh a hard time for a little oxtail gravy. So i didnt ask. Also, i noticed out thia way all the jerk places ive been too on the mayyeaon, Olympia Fields area give a significantly less amount of rice and peas. Jerk choice and jerk villa give you enough for a lunch the next day. This is the 3rd place I've been to that give you just a taste of rice and peas. Jerk N Go gets two stars because their food is actually good. The service on the other hand is beyond words. They nickel and one you for why single thing. They literally called me to say I had to pay $3.00 for a container because I asked to put the salmon on the side- like wow you can't get rich off one customer and please stop nickel and diving your customers.
