We looked this place up on yelp because we wanted jerk. We walked in and the place was packed. The cashier was very friendly. We ordered the stewed turkey necks and some jerk chicken. First time here so I wasn't sure what to order. I got the jerk chicken dinner which came w red beans and rice (which I don't eat) & cabbage. I told her I didn't want to rice. I ordered Mac and cheese & cabbage (wasn't aware it came w the dinner already. Total came to $20.07 , I was like damn & it's cash only . There's an atm there so I would recommend having cash on hand. Wait wasn't too bad; 10 mins. I get to work & guess what THERES RED BEANS & RICE IN MY DINNER! They packed it in there too . It went in the garbage ‍. Cabbage has good flavor, Mac and cheese is salty and box at that. Chicken was dry and had flavor. Not sure about returning due to the high price & food I didn't ask for. read more

Vee & E definitely has that hole in the wall quality to it when you first see it from the outside. When walking inside my nose was greeted with a wonderful scent so that was a good sign. There's a couple tables if you want to sit down but there's not a lot of dining space so you're better off ordering to go. I called around noon time for a jerk chicken lunch which the friendly lady on the line said would be ready in ten minutes. I live about fifteen minutes from there so I immediately left home to pick it up. My meal was there waiting for me when I arrived. The service was great as well when paying for the meal. The lunch portion included red bean & rice along with cabbage. Overall everything tasted great and it definitely tasted like jerk (not bbq) chicken. The jerk sauce container was very tiny but thankfully the meal was flavorful enough that you didn't need the sauce. I was wishing though I had a little more food but I was satisfied so it was just enough. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings. read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but it was lit lit. There is not one item in this restaurant that is distasteful. I got ordered a whole chicken catfish oxtails Beans and rice cabbage spinach a beef patty and the worlds best mac & cheese hands-down this place is truly a gem I traveled about an hour and a half to enjoy this place totally off of word-of-mouth, this place did not disappoint. read more

Sooooooooo disappointed. I tried calling the resturant several times before going only to no have anyone answer the phone. I wanted to see if they had Ox Tails before I drove all the way there to only find out that they did not. Against my better judgment I went ahead and drove there and guess what, thats right no Ox Tails. Mind you this was on a Tuesday at about 1pm and they open at 11am. So I choose a wing dinner as a substitute. These had to be the smallest whole wings I have ever seen in my life. How they would even serve them is beyond me. The chicken was to salty and to dry to even eat. I regret the entire visit. I have had their food before and it was good which is why this is even more upsetting. read more

I remembered I liked the food here a few years back but NEVER will and never went back because they are charging an arm and a leg for stuff that is cheap to buy and prepare and ON TOP of that the portion sizes are really, really small. Like going to a "Yuppy" restaurant. Give me a break its Good food, not amazing. read more

This place needs to be inspected by the public health department. I was extremely disappointed with my food. They are intentionally serving/selling old food. Food is not freshly prepared. Old food frozen and microwaved! Tacos were spoiled... I smelled rotten chicken immediately. Portion size was not reasonable. With the exception of the over cooked rice & beans. Restaurant is very dirty. My suggestion..... go somewhere else. I will not patronize this restaurant again. It is obvious that this business is Not in business to win. read more

Very good jerk chicken. Some places try to overwhelm you with hot spicy sauce but not this place. The chicken is seasoned so well that their sauce is really not needed. (The sauce is awesome though) I've also had the curry goat which was excellent, tender, great flavor, and not over the top on the curry. Cons: no debt card,(go get cash it's worth it) don't really understand what their saying behind the glass, (just order and give them money) not enough jerk sauce for the portion of chicken-it's a tiny container and if u want more it's extra. read more

The food is obviously pre cooked and not served that hot. They don't even have a card machine. All they're meals come with red beans and rice which is gummy and overcooked and cabbage no substitutions which is dumb. The jerk sauce not spicy this was probably the worse Jamaican food I've ever had but if you have mediocre taste buds then this is the place for you read more

I heard about this place a couple of years ago and finally went. The jerk chicken salad is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! I go to get it allllll the time. Lots of fresh spinach and chicken. I NEVER use any dressing, u don't need it. I've sampled the chicken dinner also, but nothing else. I CAN'T GET PASSED THE DANG SALAD, lol. Definitely a must try!! read more

I've been a customer of this place since they were selling plates at the flea market. Everything I've tried from them is really good. When they first started they were very generous with the servings. You definitely got your moneys worth. It was the best deal around. Unfortunately they're not as generous today. It went from the best deal around to a good meal. Definitely stingy compared to how they once were. Still a good meal though. read more

I ordered a jerk chicken dinner and had 3 small cut up pieces of chicken which looks far less than what I saw in the photos. For the price of the food I expect to get a fair portion of food, in this case chicken. The Plantains were soggy and gross. I paid $16 for this crappy meal. This will be my first and last time there. I should have listened to Brian S. If you want Jamaican food at a great value for your buck, take the trip to south side Chicago. I always have leftovers when I go there. read more
