    Watery curry gravy
    Kia B.

First time... not impressed. When I try out a new Caribbean spot... I'll start with your roti, curry chicken or jerk and rices (depending on which island the food is inspired by: Jamaican, Guyanese or Trinidad). This spot had a big miss on the curry chicken (bland chicken and watery gravy). How can you truly enjoy your roti with watery gravy? The reason I gave 2 stars was the top notch service and roti was was well done: soft and tasty Maybe thicken up the gravy and had some flavor to the chicken could go a long way.

I ordered the house special fried rice that came with fried chicken, it was definitely missing flavor and spice. I had high hopes for it because I heard a couple of people in Front of me ordered it. The lo mein was ok nothing to write home about but would get it over the fry rice. The pork dish was very fatty, but it had decent flavor I don't know how it was supposed to taste because I never had it before. The pumpkin and eggplant with good and flavorful. The service was great, it's a family run restaurant which is great ! I will be back to try other dishes hopefully i just got my food on an off day Especially since a lot of the food is made to order. With that being said be prepared to wait for you food because they are making it fresh. I browsed the other stores in the plaza while I waited.

    Pepper Shrimp Fried Rice (LARGE)

First time ordering pepper shrimp fried rice and noticed that the shrimp was breaded and fried. It tasted like those frozen butterfly shrimp from the grocery store. It's then sauced which then makes it mushy. Maybe try doing the shrimp without breading it. The fried rice on its own did not have any flavor, until I added pepper sauce on it. The fried rice was kinda mushy, it needed to be more loose. The rice was really off compared to other Guyanese Chinese places. I paid $20 for this. Don't believe it was executed properly.

This was absolutely horrible. Mixed fried rice had tiny dried shrimps, crab meat cut so thin it's dry, beef hard as a brick I didn't even try the chicken Right in the Garbage

Pretty good option if you don't feel like driving to Queens. Rice is tasty and the chicken is delicious. Lamb needs some work.....but all in all delicious

Besides the food already being overpriced and mediocre, they're charging NYC tax for a business that is clearly located in Nassau County.

This little food truck in the Walmart/Green Acres area of Valley Stream, New York, is an absolute GEM. OMG... as soon as I took a bite of those doubles, I was transported right back to the Princes Town market on a Sunday morning, 34 years ago. That first bite brought back memories in a way I honestly wasn't expecting. The doubles are OUT OF THIS WORLD -- and with a nice, cold Peardrax? Come on! I also took home the boneless curried chicken wrapped in a TRUE thin Trini-style dhalpuri. Wow. Just WOW. The dhalpuri, the curry, the seasoning... everything tasted like home. This might honestly be my favorite food spot of 2026! They're open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and there is usually a line. But trust me -- the wait is SO worth it. The food is fresh, flavorful, and tastes like somebody's Trini aunty is back there cooking for you. If you love authentic Trinidadian food, DO NOT sleep on this place. Doubles + Peardrax + boneless curry chicken dhalpuri = HEAVEN.

I ordered a jerk chicken with rice and peas dinner from Peppas and what I got was highway robbery on a plate. They charged me $19 for what was literally the back end of a chicken--no meat, just bone and disappointment. That's not jerk chicken, that's chicken back, and serving that to paying customers? That's disrespectful on so many levels. The rice and peas? Tasteless. No flavor, no richness, no seasoning--just dry rice with a hint of embarrassment. You'd think for nearly twenty dollars, you'd at least get some gravy or a piece of actual chicken breast or thigh. But no, they really hit me with scraps and called it a meal. And let's not forget the mango pineapple juice--sweet enough to give you diabetes on the spot. It's basically syrup in a bottle. I was hoping for a taste of home, but this was the most disappointing takeout dinner I've ever ordered. If you know what real Jamaican food is supposed to taste like, skip this place and save your money--and your blood sugar.

When you walk in for the lunch or dinner rush, the sheer volume of options hits you immediately. The protein lineup alone is a masterclass in variety, covering every angle from deeply smoky jerk chicken, BBQ, and rich brown stew to curry goat, tender pork, and pristine fish like porgie and red snapper. It's supported by an endless array of staples--perfectly executed rice and peas, clean white rice, green bananas, and sweet, caramelized plantains. There is quite literally too much to list, but the execution remains remarkably high across the board. The staff keeps the line moving with a pleasant, welcoming energy, and while the legendary Jamaican breakfast menu remains uncharted territory for me, the dinner rotation alone makes this place an automatic favorite. Food (4/5): A massive victory for variety and flavor. To pull off this many traditional Caribbean proteins--from oxtail and curry to perfectly fried fish--and keep them all consistently tender and deeply seasoned at a buffet scale is a serious achievement. Decor (3.25/5): Unpretentious, functional, and clean. It's a space built for high-volume neighborhood traffic where the visual focus is kept exactly where it belongs: on the food. Customer Service: The staff is consistently warm, patient, and efficient, maintaining a welcoming neighborhood vibe even when the counter gets absolutely slammed. Price: Around $15 per person. For a heavy, high-quality, fill-your-plate to the brim ..... Caribbean feast in this day and age, the value here is completely unmatched.
