The chef transformed it with seaweed and the breading. The yuca fries and sauce were also so delicious. The okra got rave reviews. I wasn't a fan of the vegan oxtails. I was expecting both the texture and flavor of Jamaican oxtails but the dish only captured the flavor. The vegan oxtails were mushroom caps. As many reviews have noted, almost everything here is made to order so plan to wait 30-45 minutes for your food. The Jamaican patties and desserts are available quickly. I recommend ordering ahead and picking up your food because the restaurant itself isn't really designed to have a sit down meal. Overall, the food was good and if I am in the area again, I would return to try other things on the menu. But I wouldn't make a whole trip for it.

As anyone familiar with Caribbean cuisine knows, sauce can be an important part of the overall flavor experience, and without it, she found the jerk chicken bland and lacking the flavor she expected. Adding to the frustration, communication at the counter was difficult, as she had trouble understanding the person assisting her. When a customer has to repeat a simple request multiple times and still doesn't receive what was requested, it can quickly turn an otherwise pleasant meal into a disappointing experience. Kingston Grill may have the potential to offer good Caribbean food, but attention to customer service, communication, and listening to customers' requests is essential.
