Ordered spaghetti and meatballs (2 of these), a caprese salad (highly recommended) and a side of a meatball. Meatballs are tasty. The tomato under the salad wasn't the best, but still terrific once threw that off. The bread is warm and butter is whipped!!! So good. No dessert. the meatballs were very good. the fried calamari was WAY TOO SALTY. The bolognese lacked the depth of flavor that true bolognese has. maybe it needed a touch of red wine in the preparation. Service was hampered because it appeared to lack the management to have secondary personnel help when servers were backed up. at one point there were three workers at the hostess while the servers were struggling and unable to keep up with water request or to even ask how the food and drink were. In a restaurant, there should never be three people idle when others are struggling to keep up. That is just poor management of resources. Our server was pleasant enough. Not sure why all of the negative reviews. We went here expecting mediocre and food it ended up actually being very good! The place has an Oldschool vibe playing music from the 50's. Our waiter was very attentive, personable, and helpful with answering questions. We had the House Sangria, Caesar Salad, Beet Salad, and split the Eggplant Parm. The house Sangria was served in a huge glass and was some of the best I've had. The salads were both good but beet salad shined! I enjoyed the creaminess of the ricotta with the beets and crunch of the walnuts. The eggplant parm came with spaghetti and both were very tasty! The seats we got put in were great, two of us for one big booth. (I think it has a little to do with it being less crowded and the fact that I reserved an hour and half ahead of time). Located inside the Dover Downs casino, it is the best one that is currently open. Still I would say 3 out of 5 place. 1. Service - great. Bartender was nice, no nonsense. I liked her. 2. Food/drinks - edible, nothing special. Calamari - fine. that's it. Drinks - they do make mixed drinks. Not that good. It is not a fine mixed drink, let's just say that. 3. Music - however, I LOVED it. They have this old school 40s to 50s movies playing on TVs and they said they have pandora channel, but the music was delightful. Not worth it anymore. Booked table reservation for 4PM when they opened. Hostess told my wife they only have tables outside the restaurant in the patio-like area. After seating us, looking in the restaurant, we could it was mainly empty. The waiter came by to get our drink order and drop off bread when the hostess suddenly showed up at the table asking if we would like to switch tables. At this point, we declined. Menu changed some since our last visit with the broccoli rabe based entree gone and all of the prices increased. We decided to try pizza. They arrived lukewarm, while completed cooked, the crust was thin, but not crunchy at all. Sausage used in the topping had no flavor and both pies were bland. The choices at Dover Downs are currently a bit limited. With covid I called from the car to make a reservation but couldn't get an answer. (I missed they had online reservations through open table. I didn't scroll down far enough). Because of reduced seating we almost didn't get a table. Our server was very friendly and very busy, but you wouldn't know it, she was attentive and we didn't want for anything. The food was all good quality, but for a meatball place, the meatball left a little to be desired, it didn't seem to have that much meat. (Longo Salad & Meatball) I was also surprised that the bread came with plain butter and not an oil type dip which I love. (The hubby prefers butter). The heirloom tomato, cucumber salad was heavy enough on oil, I dipped my bread there! I loved the Veal Marsala and the risotto was fantastic and a great complement. We recently made reservations for our first visit. We had an amazing dinner and the service/staff was outstanding. They made it such a special evening for us both. We were celebrating Valentines and Birthday wrapped in one. I wanted to try everything on the menu. We had several appetizers and the Antipasta. All were perfect. We had a 7:30 reservation. We showed up at 7:20 and were greeting by the hostess. She was super friendly and seated us immediately. Our server, I think his name was Ken, greeted us shortly after we were seated. His service was impeccable throughout our meal. Over all the service was amazing I would give it a 10/10! We had the Ceasar Salad. I would rate it a 6/10. I thought it was very small for $10 and not a lot of flavor but it wasn't bad. My wife had the chicken parmigiano. It was good but not great. I think this place is going to be good, but a week after opening, there are a lot of service issues. The food was great though, so I will focus on that first. My husband and I each had their signature meatball salad to start, and it was amazing. A small pile of chopped salad beside a good sized meatball and two dollops of whipped ricotta. The ricotta made it special - tart and creamy and a perfect bite combined with a forkfull of meatball. I'll get it again for sure. For our main, we split a North Shore pizza and an order of escarole and beans. The pizza selections are fun, and the North Shore was crispy and tasty, with mozzarella, rapini and sausage. It was supposed to have crushed red pepper but we couldn't taste any and there was none on the table to add. The escarole and beans was nicely seasoned but hard to eat and very hard to share because it was soupy and should have been served with a spoon. Which brings me to the service issues. I'll start by saying our server, Chris, was friendly and attentive but I think the staff must be inconsistently trained. Here are the isses we experienced. First, we were told there was a wait of 30 minutes and gave my cell number so that they could text when the table was ready. I got an immediate confirmation text saying we were in queue, but an hour later, still hadn't recieved a text that our table was ready. Finally we walked back over to check and the hostess never looked up at us, said she didn't text us, grabbed menus and took us to a table outside. No explanation, no eye contact, no I'm sorry I screwed up. Things got way better when Chris arrived. He was fun and quickly brought our bottle of Moscato, but had awful trouble opening it. Not his fault that he hadn't opened that kind of bottle before, but he should have had help or a different corkscrew. While we were waiting, a table was seated behind us, and I heard the server explain the special of the evening and give an overview of their signature dishes. Nice touch. They should all do that. Then there was the escarole and spoon issue. None of it was awful, just inconsistent and clunky. The manager stopped by and when I mentioned the texting snafu, promised to address it. Give it a few weeks and some continued training, and I think Longo's will be excellent. The food was so good, it's definitely worth another visit. read more

Recently good friend &I came here I been there before and always enjoyed but my friend never been before and I always reserve 2 bar seats with pandemic now they can only seat 6 people at bar! But so fun this particular nite regular bar maid called in due to snow & ice so we got Lucky and the owner Frank was doing the Bar he was so fun and we really enjoyed ourselves we were in there 3 hours eating & drinking! We were of coarse staying at the Hotel weather was quite bad! But Frank made us really good drinks those green Tea shots were really good! I love there food and everything is so fresh and tasty! The tiramisu is best I have ever eaten! The pizzas are always delicious and the Salads are so fresh I have had Salmon there that's always delicious/ Steak there is very good worth the price tag for sure!! Yes I liked Frankie's too but I think now I can honestly say I love Jerry's more! I want to thank Frank for making our night with laughs and jokes! He should bar tend every Thursday nite! So. My wife and I came downstairs to dine as we were at the hotel for an extended weekend. As we dined. The wait staff catered to certain people (Caucasian). Our waiter was black. Very disappointed in him. Also my wife ordered a dirty gin martini and the olives were dry and old. The Mea was mediocre. Dessert was frozen cake that had not been thawed out and stale. And for the finale. As we watched the television we were inclined to have to watch a movie that continually showed women, men and children in BLACKFACE. During these times in 2020 the management should have really made a better choice in what was showing. We asked for the check immediately and left. Please do better Jerry Longo's. I am a HUGE advocate for customer service and professionalism, and by far this establishment has been the worst that I've ever experienced! I was trying to plan a dinner for my son's birthday, which was very important to him. I've called the restaurant (3 times), I spoke with Barbara(the manager) and each time I called she stated that she would get back with me(which never happened). Each time I called she asked for my name and telephone number, meaning she had no intentions on returning any of my phone calls. She even asked me if I had made an attempt to make reservations at the Sugar Factory!! This carried on for two weeks, and I still have not heard from anyone. Very condescending and incompetent to say the least. I find it very disturbing that a manager would represent any company in this manner. This is beyond ridiculous. read more

Well the first time a jerry Longo's and the service was slow and the atmosphere looks like Frankie's. The bread they serve you is hard as a rock and they serve you olive oil with no balsamic vinegar. So make sure you ask for butter. The menu prices are way over priced. The food and desserts are good but you get what you pay for. read more

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday at this amazing restaurant. It was so good I came back the following two nights as well, LOL. The meatball salad is fantastic, the consistency and taste of the meatball along side the ricotta whip is so yummy. I tried the potato and rosemary pizza, Many of the pasta dishes, tasted all my friends food, and everything was so good!! The chicken Parmesan was flawless, the sauce on top scrumptious. The fettuccine Alfredo use to be delicious and now it's tasteless....needed salt just to be able to eat it...which I didn't eat much. Went there when it first opened and the waiter who was was Philly was excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. Even the Manager came around and talk with us and wanted to make sure the dining was memorable. Went there tonight, about two months later, and it was awful. When we arrived the waiter was personable for about 5 minutes . We ordered several things off the menu and one of them was a pizza that we didnt want broccoli rabe on. No, they cant change an order to omit something. They can only change an order to add something. Huh? We ordered some appetizers and a pizza and didnt see the waiter again until he dumped the cold pizza at the table. Next time I saw him I told him the pizza was cold and he didnt say anything. Just walked away. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the first time we went the meatball was wonderful. This time the spaghetti was luke warm, didnt have enough sauce and the meatballs, their signature item, were dried out. We had to ask for more drinks since the waiter never came back unless we flagged him down, never brought ice for my ice tea, put no bread on the table, added $1.50 to a $10 martini charge for Absolut when we never requested it. I have a business card from the Manager who gave it to me at the the first visit and I was going to email him my experience. No email address so I'm not even going to try to contact him. Left a 15% tip which was 14% to much. I'm down at the casino alot and get host comps so I dont have to pay but I wont be going back. Horrible dining experience. read more
