If you had told me this amazing Italian Restaurant was tucked into a nondescript strip mall on the outskirts of Milford - I would have said "doubtful". However it's true. Let's start with decor - I don't think I've ever been in a restaurant this clean in a long long time. The decor is charming, olde world, and lush. Large booths envelope you while you dine with a view of the open kitchen. The "fire element" is warming and romantic and would be great in the cold weather. The service was impeccable. Our server Forrest knows her menu well and made wonderful recommendations. I was looking for a creamy espresso martini and she offered up a cappuccino martini not on the menu but having featured before - they were happy to make it for me. They have great bartenders and mixologist. The food was absolutely wonderful. I had chicken Parmesan, a portion large enough for two. My sister had the below picture Wedge Salad - that looked stunning. She had an absolutely delicious summer risotto - creamy and fresh with summer corn and peas. Risotto is great done right - horrible done wrong - and this one was WAY right. We didn't have room for dessert but I plan on many visits to this restaurant in the future. I heard the best reviews of this place. I had been dying to try it. Unfortunately I was disappointed as was the group I dined with. We started with mussels and Caesar. The salad had so much dressing that it made me feel ill. The owner, Lisa, was very attentive and she came to our table. She replaced the salad with dressing on the side, and it was absolutely delicious. The mussels were open but undercooked. The sauce was good but the mussels not so much. The food is mediocre at best. The chicken florentine was average, as was the salmon. The prices that they are charging for the food they are serving is not justified. We will not be back. read more

I wanted this dinner to be special, as it was a send-off for a young man entering our great Army, but the restaurant made it anything but memorable. The food was tasteless: scant, dried vegetables; meat dishes served cold in the center; and a chicken parmesan missing the parmesan altogether with an underwhelming "chef byou" sauce. Even the deviled eggs ($29.00!) were a disappointment, with only a thin sliver of crab meat that a grocery store could have done better. For nearly $400 (including an automatic gratuity for 5 people), the quality was nowhere near the price. Drinks--both mocktails and adult beverages--were more like pop-style mixes than crafted selections. As for dessert, the restaurant offered only a cupped portion with one spoon, placed on a crumb-covered table left from the meal before us. That lack of care said it all. The only positives: the hostess and servers were wonderful and the restaurant itself is beautiful. But for this important evening, I wish we had gone to Olive Garden or simply cooked at home. I actually opened a can of chicken noodle soup when I got home because I left hungry. Sadly, this was a one-and-done visit. Never again if I can help it. read more

Great spot with amazing food--Geno's cheesesteaks were a fantastic feature when we visited. The atmosphere was good, but the service was a mixed bag. Erica, one of the bartenders, was excellent, friendly, professional, and made the experience great. Unfortunately, the other bartender was rude and openly treated her poorly in front of us. It came across as toxic and unprofessional. Feel bad for her. My advice: definitely ask for Erica, she's the gem behind the bar. The food here is excellent, but the experience at the bar was ruined by Sammy. It seemed that under stress she was flat-out rude, sort of short with customers and openly belittling her coworker. It created a really awkward vibe that made it uncomfortable to sit there. The only saving grace was the tall, pretty blonde bartender who stayed calm, professional, and genuinely sweet to everyone despite the tension. Management should recognize the difference in attitude between the two. One drives customers away, the other keeps us coming back. We spent a lot of money there. They were out of an ingredient to make a drink on the menu!! So then dessert and guess what no Smith Island cake after being offered it by the waiter. All this and a $400 bill!!! We were told that it was pricey but coming from NY we are used to pricey as long as the price matches the food, we are good with that. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and it was good. I ordered the crab cakes which were priced as MP and asked if it came with a side and was told no. Went with it anyway, it was ok. I've had better but when the bill came, the 2 medium size crab cakes alone came to $74.00. Thought that was a little overboard. My husband had chicken parm and said it was good. Three couples in our neighborhood go out once a month to try new restaurants. We were all very excited to finally get to Benvenuto - but it was one of the biggest disappointments. *We were greeted by a woman who was not very friendly and while we had a reservation (for 6 at 6:30 and arrived 15 min early) she sat everyone behind us first - then told us to stop talking because she was on the phone. Not very welcoming. *Sat us at a table for 8 (there was 6 for the reservation and 6 showed up). They never took away the extra 2 chairs or settings. This is just poor management. *The waiter showed up in a mask-we could hardly understand him. Waited another 20 min for our drinks - which came out one by one - not all together. *After 6 large appetizers - 2 of us ordered the special (lobster/scampi) at "mkt price". The dinner was enormous and $112 EACH!. Would have been nice if the waiter told us we could have shared it - along with the price. The pasta was overcooked and the fish was warm. *Paid the bill not realizing 20% gratuity was already included and tipped 20% - again it would have been nice if the waiter told us this. Our fault for not checking BUT .... All in all - the food (even the $112 dishes) were luke warm and just ok-appetizers were better. The atmosphere is like a catering hall and not very warm or welcoming-neither is the staff. After all they hype this restaurant gets we expected so much more! Been to Benvenuto a handful of times now. My husband I were so excited for the special Geno's night. Well, unfortunately we were EXTREMELY dissatisfied. We were aware that the cheesesteaks were $23 dollars and the fries with whiz were $8. Got to our table at 7 (which we tried to get in earlier but couldn't since it was almost booked which we understood.) We did not receive our cheesesteaks until 8:15! To top it off, there was no cheese for the fries and the cheesesteaks were not hot and soggy. Chef Jesus offered us a "treat" coupon to be used on a Wednesday or Thursday. That's nice and all but we are not able to drive 45 mins one way on a weeknight for a complimentary "treat". The only saving grace was our server who was apologetic and understanding. The management staff was not as understanding but they did apologize. Over an hour for a room temperature soggy cheesesteak for $23 dollars..... Johnny told us it was enough for 2 but we ordered 2 appetizers anyway and took home half of everything. The sautéed shrimp was not our favorite but the crab cheese fondue was superb. Some of the prices seemed high, such as the crabcakes and the ribs, but the quality is excellent and the portions huge so it is a good value. So the food was amazing. My spouse had the raviolis and they were quite large. I had the chicken artichoke dish and barely had any protein (only food complaint). The waiter we had was bad. He would disappear, we had to beg someone else for a roll, never got to order a second glass of wine ( so we went to Sul Tempo on the way home to continue date night). We waited for approximately 35 minutes for dinner, I had pasta and my friend had salmon. I had to request a spoon for the pasta, we had to request bread which was served to the tables around us by other servers, we had to catch the attention of our server to pay the check. This is our second time eating here. Last night we sat at the bar. My husband and I had a birthday dinner with his sister. We started with drinks. I chose the sangria. (Pictured) the drink was perfect and had fresh cranberries floating in it. It was classically refreshing. For my second drink I chose a Pear drink that was not nearly as tasty. I'm not a savage, so I don't drank it. Lol Appetizers came out. We ordered Mamas Meatballs & the roasted Brussels. Both were incredibly tasty. For dinner we ordered 2 different meals. I ordered at Chicken Madeira and the hubs ordered a pork dish. Both of us enjoyed our meals and we both were satisfied. Our bartender/server Morgan was stellar, helpful and attentive. Zeus, the head chef has always been accommodating with my gluten free needs there, even though they could use a gf menu to make things a little easier to know what foods are safe for me. I ordered the 20oz boneless ribeye with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I said medium rare, and it came out exactly how I wanted it. I also ordered the truffle butter and that addition really boosted the flavors. Best steak I've had in years. My fiancé ordered what was more or less a seafood Mac and cheese but with lots of lobster and shrimp. He said it was absolutely amazing. Service was great too, and the atmosphere/ambiance are on a whole other level. I highly recommend, just be ready to spend a good amount of money, because it's pricey depending on what you get, but portions and quality are on point. read more

I was very excited to find out that Milford was opening a new Italian restaurant. Tonight my family and I decided to check the place out and we were in total shock from the second we walked through the doors... 1. The place is beautiful, very comfy and quiet. The seating was interesting and the kitchen is an open concept, which was pretty neat! 2. The food was amazing and you definitely get your moneys worth. The three of us ordered the chicken parmigiana and let me tell you, it could feed a village. The chicken breast was almost bigger than the plate. Desert was also great. 3. I drank my water through a PASTA NOODLE. How cool is that? Love how eco friendly they are! 4. Staff was wonderful- everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
