There are quite a few new take-out parking spots in front, and a take-out pickup table in the entry. Good idea; if you're too busy to cook, you can pick up a decent dinner of chicken parmesan or alfredo. Speaking of which, we had an office lunch again at the Dover Olive Garden--admin's choice. The boss (me) takes out the office every now and then because my favorite boss of all time years ago would take out our team on a whim now and then, and it made for nice memories. The lunch deals are fantastic; bread sticks, salad or soup and an entree for a reasonable charge. Beware that soft drinks are going to add to the bill but they are unlimited refill, which makes up for that. One of our party added alfredo sauce as a dip for the breadsticks, which were thoroughly baked and not doughy. You could have a lunch of salad and breadsticks with that dip...it was rather good. If you haven't tried dipping the breadsticks in sauce, it's fun. I might prefer marinara, I'm not so much of an alfredo fan but either would be great. Service was speedy and friendly. People like to throw shade at Olive Garden as "not authentic Italian" but it is authentic AMERICAN-Italian and I enjoyed even the side of spaghetti with the chicken parm. I think we all know what Olive Gardens are like, but I stopped by here and there was plenty of parking, was quickly seated, and for lunch, they have good and low-priced options. I got the chicken and gnocchi soup, and it was probably the most gnocchi I've ever gotten in a bowl (sometimes they can be a bit light on them.) They also offered a soup refill which I didn't need, but I appreciate the option. I got the chicken parm and had no trouble substituting the pasta for broccoli to make the meal a little healthier. It arrived quickly and was very tasty. For lunch, one usually wants a good meal somewhat quickly, and this place delivered. I come to the Dover location all of the time and the experience is always great. This time however we got sat immediately and then sat for 20 minutes not even greeted. By the time our server got there she did not apologize and then just rolled her eyes at us as she walked away. Any time she came back to the table she had a very strong attitude. We did not feel comfortable asking for anything because she always was rolling her eyes and talking bad about her tables to the other server. It got to the point I needed a togo order I ordered it on line because one she did not come back after giving our food to us and I didn't want her to roll her eyes any more because at this point we had already waited for forever and it just wasn't okay. For 50 dollars in food over all and having to place a 20 dollar togo order it would be nice to at least have some good service. read more

We had an after funeral Luncheon that was enjoyed by all . The staff was very professional and friendly. The managers helped us plan everything. Dustin, Michael and Eric were truly a pleasure to set the Luncheon up with. Everyone enjoyed their platters and the salads were very fresh and plentiful. Haven't eaten here in YEARS, but wanted to check it out. Food was surprisingly good for a chain Italian restaurant. Got the spinach and artichoke dip, stuffed shells, and the donuts. The shells, wow. Way better than I thought. Stuffed to the brim, with marinara and alfredo sauces on top, can't go wrong with that. The donuts were amazing, nice and warm, and the dipping sauces were warm too. Also got the Italian margarita. Way better than I imagined, tasted good, not too sweet, and a perfect amount of liquor. Service was also great. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. Over the years I have been here many times, mostly because its great for large parties and they offer many options. However, the service here is slow and the staff just seems confused. The last time I came in with 16 people and we waited while they put tables together for us, however they put together circle and square tables and made the seating very awkward. There were plenty of tables in the area that they seated us that could have made a long table to accommodate all of us. Staff just didn't understand and we ended up putting our own tables together. We went last night to the unlimited pasta promotion. We waited over 45 minutes for our food to come out and when it did come out it was cold and the pasta edges were dried. Another person in our group ordered something else and it came out cold with the cheese hard. We put in for another order of the endless pasta and that was a mistake. Thirty minutes later it came out the same way. Cold and hard pasta. The waitress was wonderful! She kept the bread and salad coming. Our drinks were never empty. We there over two hours.
