I originally made an appointment to go to Pep Boys because I had a coupon for an oil change (mistake number one). At the end of the day, they very casually let me know that they were going to keep my car overnight because they found a problem and needed a part they would have to order. So I had to scramble to figure out how I was going to get to work! The next day, in the afternoon they informed me that it would be over $1000 to repair my car so it could run again. Unprofessional and malicious. Jerry kept my truck hostage for two weeks. I would text him and call him, but no response. He had every excuse for his lack of communication. The day he finally let met pick up my truck he was over 3 hours late. The shop is always closed. Took a vehicle here for a pre-purchase inspection. I wanted to make sure that the car I was about to purchase was free or nearly free of any costly repairs. Jerry was friendly and worked quickly and efficiently, however he missed quite a few mechanical issues with the vehicle that were later identified by another mechanic after I purchased the car. Jerry reported that he found an "engine turbo oil cooler line leak" as well as "noise from front axles".. other than those two issues, he said the car seemed to be in good shape. After buying the car, I took it to a speciality mechanic (it's a Saab) and the mechanic identified issues with the brake vacuum pump, power steering pump, serpentine belt and tensioner, headlight wiring, and the plastic spoiler and air guide. All these repairs will cost around $900. I could have potentially used this information when negotiating with the seller of this vehicle instead of ending up paying close to asking price. Instead the transaction and price were based off of Jerry's incomplete evaluation of the vehicle. Had I taken it to someone more diligent in their assessment, I probably could have negotiated a better deal on the car, and saved some money. Shady tree mechanic. Sent him two people and he did them both dirty. Didn't do the work on the vehicle, just "patched" it. But that wasn't the deal. Doesn't give receipts unless you ask, and the positive reviews are family, or loyal customers. If you must use this shady little man for any service.. get a receipt and your old parts. I took my car to jerry auto to get repaired he took off in my car for four months I could not locate him I went to his shop several times talk to the workers they said he was out of town. I kept calling his number he blocked me I had to get the police involved we went to his shop twice could not locate him. Finally after placing a stolen police report, the police was able to contact Jerry they met me at his the repair shop and advise Jerry the owner to bring my vehicle he finally showed up with my car. There was so much damage done to my car. I was advised by the police officer to take him to civil court to recoup all the damage that was done to my vehicle I will never recommend anyone to take their car to Jerry's auto repair. All I have to say is that after living in Riverside for six years, I was pretty upset that I discovered a BOMB mechanic just days before we had to drive out to our new home of Texas and its literally walking distance from where we lived! My hubby went in on 09/14/15 to have our 2011 Kia Soul checked out after we had alot of trouble starting the car (or "firing" as my husband called it) the car. We couldn't find a decent mechanic to save our lives on such short notice (we left Cali three days later). Needless to say Jerry saved us! He located and fixed the problem, which even though the car sounded like it was in very bad shape only needed to have the spark plugs replaced. I am clueless about car repairs. I put gas in and drive. I put more gas in when the fuel runs out. I used to lease nice cars with nice warranties. When something went wrong I took it to a dealer who lent me a nice replacement while mine was getting fixed. No sweat. No fuss. Sadly, those days are over. I need to save for college tuition for 3 boys. I need my car to last 300,000 miles. Nowadays, when a service light comes on or the car makes a strange noise I think, "Oh crap. Something's wrong. I got my front brakes replaced by his shop and he was honest in stating that I had longer with the rear ones so I should wait. Due to convenience, I went to Brake Master on Indiana to replace the rear ones many months later. They fed me a BS answer about leaking struts and destroyed rotors. Jerry's shop looked it over and found no such problem. They were also able to identify why my vehicle was responding sluggishly and quoted a fair price for that repair. I had my car serviced at Jerry's auto repair shop today and the experience was great. I usually do the maintenance on my cars, but lately I've had no time. My car needed an oil change and a check on the rotors and struts, as the steering wheel started vibrating. The oil change was $30, but for a synthetic blend, which is better for your car (even less than the dealer) . I got a call back after an hour confirming the rotors needed to be replaced. They've been resurfaced before, so I expected it. Jerry quoted me the same price for parts as I got from my auto parts dude - for the same brands. Price was good and Jerry took his time explaining to me what further maintenance was to be needed come 100,000 miles.
