This place deserves a better rating. Jersey Freeze in bell labs is an awesome stop. They had a ton of flavors soft serve and hard ice cream. I got a waffle cone with blueberry ice cream and graham cracker dust. My girlfriend got vanilla soft serve with sprinkles in a sugar cone. She tried to get coconut but it was sold out! Both ice creams were delicious. Unfortunately the blueberry wasn't as good as the blueberry pie from Crazees in Rumson but it was still good. The place is in a cool location. I'm sure I'll be back this summer for sure. read more

The ice cream was okay! They had a variety of different flavor options - 8+ ish. They have the option of just a bowl, Sundae or milkshakes. It's convenient to be inside the Bellworks building so it is a good place to get ice cream and find somewhere to sit. However, I did find the ice cream a little overly sweet. Otherwise, service was relatively fast! I think it's literally a typical ice cream place - 2 workers and just a couple of scoops and you're out of there. read more

Love that it is in Bellworks but when we went they took away all of the seating outside for a private event. That being said, the ice cream was disappointing. The peanut butter soft serve barely had any flavor though they did put a decent amount of toppings on. The hard ice cream I sampled was icy in texture. Spread themselves too thin? Been getting an ice cream cake for every event for 35 years. Slight variations but always consistently very good. Ordered for Fathers Day and it sucked. On hot summer days, it's always a fun time to have an ice cream scoop or two. What flavor do you crave? This is Jersey Freeze's latest location and it is in Holmdel inside Bell Works. They serve both soft serve and hard ice creams. They also make the typical milkshakes, and sundaes, and also have non-dairy and fat-free, as well. While they do have the classics, such as vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough, and cookie-n-cream, they also have some fun and rotating flavors such as Cake Batter, Funfetti, and Cannoli. Their ice cream is a bit on the sweeter side. I was surprised it tasted too similar to other ice cream shops that are not of the same name. Curious, I asked the server how that was possible. She explained the original owners of Jersey Freeze sold the ice cream store in the Freehold location and their ice cream is no longer homemade. The flavors I have tried are Cannoli, Chocolate Lovers, and Banana Cream Pie. The ice cream varies in size, even though I have always ordered the same, small cup. The oddest thing I find is having ordered a small cup, my hubby or friend could order the same size but theirs could be bigger or smaller in size. It is inconsistent and done by the same person. I worked at an ice cream store when I was younger and was always told to strive for consistency. The prices are a bit steep for what you get but it is cheaper than going for Bubble Tea. What I do appreciate is the friendly service, you can ask for a sample prior to purchasing, and the staff keeps the store immaculate. While they do sell t-shirts, they do not, however, serve food at this location. The Jersey Freeze at the Freehold location serves food. read more

Opened since March 2020, this location is a smaller satellite store that offers the same fresh and tasty ice creams as the as the iconic Jersey Freeze in Freehold. Available are soft and hard ice creams, ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches and merch. Special orders for ice cream cakes can be ordered and picked up at this location as well. Ordered was a Banana Cream Pie, a hard ice cream. It was sugary sweet with a fake banana flavor that tasted artificial. Bits of pie crust(?) are infused into the ice cream and are the equivalent of biting into softened flavored sugar cubes. The hunt continues. Ordered a milkshake and every couple of sips, I felt something solid in my mouth. I figured they were chunks of ice cream that were clumped together. But when I noticed they wouldn't break apart, I spat it out to see what it was. IT WAS MOLD/MILDEW. THOSE GROSS THINGS THAT GROW ON FAUCETS. It was so gross and I felt SO sick in the stomach afterwards. They must rarely clean their machines. It is so unhygienic and at a place where so many kids come to play and eat, SHAME ON THEM. So excited to try Jersey Freezes newest location in Holmdel! They offer cups and cones of hard and soft serve ice creams (soft serve is the way to go!). They also have shakes and sundaes and floats. I have been a Jersey Freeze patron for 27 years but I am actually lactose intolerant so I can't have much ice cream very often. So I was very, very excited to try the dairy free options they added a few years ago. The pineapple dole whip is delicious! Their flavors rotate frequently. This location is a joke and far cry from what you get in Freehold. What you get is super inconsistent from visit to visit, portion sizes are tiny, teens don't know what they are doing, and never seems to be any supervision. Was looking forward to them coming to town and was willing to give them a few chances, but honestly would rather not waste my money. They handle the line well - keeps moving with not much of a wait. Fresh and tasty products overall. Hit or miss. Sometimes food is good other times it sucks. I think it depends on who is working. Some flavors are gross too, like the low sugar raspberry. It tastes awful. However, you can get the same flavors from other shops for cheaper. read more
