I was resigned that I would never taste a New York style bagel in Florida. Thank you fellow Yelpers!. After reading numerous positive reviews, I decided to try Jersey girl bagels and boy am I glad. Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside; Large in circumference. I was greeted nicely when I walked to the counter and began to decide what to get. I opted for my standard- toasted sesame bagel with lox spread. It was fantastic. I brought some home and am looking forward to trying them- worth every carb. Part of UTC Market (near Kohls) so plenty of parking with counter space to sit down. read more

My wife and I had been going to get a bagel almost every Wednesday morning for the last two and half years. We order the same everything double toasted with scallion cream cheese every single time. Two weeks ago- our bagel was barely toasted, the cream cheese was minimal, thin, and melted to almost a liquid. GROSS!!! Not to mention 5.08 for each bagel. We thought - oh well, they're having a bad day - not an excuse. Went back last Saturday morning and ordered my regular. The bagel was barely toasted and totally doughy! The cream cheese was a mess all over the wrapper inside and out, the bagel tasted like shit, it was all over my hands, and was a gross, disgusting mess!!! We've been supporting the place for quite awhile - the quality and taste have gone DOWNHILL, half the time the staff are not pleasant to deal with - like their doing me a favor to get me an over priced shit bagel, and the prices keep going up. THERES NO EXCUSE!!! We're going to try somewhere else where we don't have to deal with this garbage!!! read more

Super nice customer service. I bought an assortment of fresh baked/boiled? bagels. The are delicious. I bought a container of lox spread made with lox pieces and cream cheese. Also a container of freshly made egg salad. Went home and made a great breakfast sandwich with the goodies I bought. read more

Easily the best bagels in the area.. nice and fluffy and decently sized! Always have to get a dozen to go to pop in the freezer and they sell their cream cheeses in to go tubs as well which makes for a perfect breakfast at home. Quick and easy service, in and out just like it should be. Glad to see they are expanding to the north so the drive is much shorter, but worth the long drive anyway for delicious bagels! read more

I was looking for a quick bite and I found it. So I ordered a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. The bagels were fresh and the sandwich was made to order. Really good. Only areas of improvement are increasing the variety of bagels as the selection seemed limited. Also, seating was limited, so on a busy day you will need to take it to go. read more

I moved to FL 3 years ago and this places brings me a little piece of home with their delicious everything bagels & flagels with their taylor ham, egg & cheese! I'm so glad my boyfriend and I discovered this little gem, truly brings me back home! Especially love all their jersey sayings and decorations. It's the perfect breakfast spot if you're traveling and simply want to pick up a good breakfast that it's worth the price! Each time I have been here it's always busy! You can place your order online ahead of time I believe, the service is great, and efficient. The ambiance is very casual, they have a small area inside to enjoy your bagel, some outside but nothing too big. Most people order for take out. They have many bagel options, cream cheeses in containers to purchase for home, some baked goods, and your basic decaf or regular coffee. I have heard a lot about this place on social media, so when I was in the area I had to try it out! The inside is very clean and you are immediately greeted with the fresh bagel smell followed by friendly employees. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and it was DELICIOUS! Absolutely rivals the bagels I have had in NY. I would love to stop by next time & get an asiago bagel with cream cheese since I didn't have time this go around. Would recommend!! read more

Bagels are yummy here! I had a French Toast Bagel with Maple Walnut Cream Cheese ($5). The Bagel was average size, and they give you a generous amount of cream cheese. Both had great flavor, but I would have preferred smaller chucks of walnuts. I would like to return and try one of the breakfast sandwiches or an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese (my typical go to bagel order). I thought it was cool that you can buy tubs of the various cream cheese they make to take home and enjoy. It is a very small restaurant and not much seating, but cute and cozy. I was thinking how good an Everything Bagel would be as I drove to Jersey Girl Bagels. It was my first visit, I think they have been open for about a year at this location. It was easy to find and not too busy when I walked in. It's a small place with just a few counter seats inside and three tables outside. I got my order placed for my Everything Bagel, toasted, with cream cheese, and it was ready in just a few minutes. I liked that the soft schmear was included on the bagel and not handed to me in little plastic containers. My warm savory bagel was easy to eat and it was just what I was looking for. I'm not sure I can tell the difference between boiled and steamed, but I know what I like, and I definitely liked what I got. The best bagel shop in SWFL. This isn't just a bagel place you go to get "as close to a New York bagel as you can get." This place is actually better than a lot of places on Long Island. Been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Anyone who gives Jersey Girl less than a 5 star review should go to Jeff's Bagel Run and get a cold bagel that you have to spread cream cheese on yourself. read more

Good bagels in Florida are somewhat hard to find and elusive. The water maybe, baked or boiled who knows but Jersey Girl bagels fills some of that void. Not quite NYC bagels but a damn good substitute without having to go to NY. Early hours (7:00 am) but closed Mondays and Tuesday. Good selection of bagels and "schemers" that's cream cheese for those who don't know. Breakfast sandwiches and more with some nice outside tables and chairs to relax and enjoy. read more

Bagel sandwich w/ egg was good. Service was good, but the ambiance was just ok. I took my order to go. Interesting comment by an employee when they ran out of Sesame bagels while I was waiting on my order. She said, " I am glad we ran out, I wasn't happy with them today." My question is, for her to make that comment I would assume there was a quality issue w/ the Sesame bagels so why did they sell thru them all if she felt they weren't made correctly that day? This review is simple. After a long wait to move her operations from home in Bradenton to a commercial space, Jersey Girl Bagels is up and running! Spent most of my life in NY. Experienced H&H, and every local bagel shop. Make dough with good water. Boil and bake. This is the real deal. Bagels are excellent, and the best we have had since moving down here 5 years ago. Selection of bagels and cream cheeses is good, with some extra flavors like multi-grain on the weekends. In UTC, next to Peltz Shoes. We are glad the wait is over!! That's about it, every other aspect is definitely NOT a positive experience. -$1.67 per bagel IS a bit excessive and GREEDY. -Spending $1.67/bagel, THEY SHOULD AT LEAST PROVIDE A PLASTIC SLEEVE BAG per dozen purchased FOR FREEZING, like most EVERY bagel shop does up north. -They have the MOST UN-CUSTOMER friendly ordering setup inside the store. Physically, it's a small store and is set up sooooo inefficiently!!! *Let's start with the cash register that is programmed so EVERY bagel has to be rung up! If someone orders 2 dozen bagels, the employee has to hit the register key 24 times! INEFFICIENT *There should be 2 lines-1 for JUST bagels to go and 1 for sandwiches and everything else. *They need to remove the open 4' customer reachin refrigerator and add counter space for my above mentioned suggestion of 2 service lines. They could easily add a tall reachin refrigerator in the customer area of the store for the items that they offer in their current 4' behemoth refrigerator. *Operations behind the counter are chaotic, employees are running into each other and it's just NOT set up to be operationally efficient. OK, 2 additional positive notes: -It's ALWAYS clean -Employees are always positive, polite and courteous. Even though it is a small space, it could easily be set up to be more efficient for both the employees and customers which would definitely result in additional sales. Great addition to the Sarasota bagel community. Since other bagel places have been bought out and changed everything, Jersey Girl Bagels are definitely the go to place. These bagels were far superior to the other ones anyways. I have had to walk away due to the crowd on weekends sometimes, but frequent them a bit during the weekdays. Great small shop where the bagels are made fresh in house. Go out of your way to get their bagels you will not be disappointed! read more
