Very clean, large space with so much going on (bands. Puppy yoga etc). I absolutely loved the dozen different hard seltzer flavors (and not super carbonated). They sometimes have food trucks but I would BYO food or have something delivered. Some employees are friendly than others. I also loathe the people who bring gaggles of little kids, I want a relaxed atmosphere not to try to talk/yell over your kids screaming and running around. So they have a booth at the Sussex Fair Grounds, a woman bartender assumes that I had a lot to drink when I didn't and I have a friend with me who can vouch and cuts me off at the second drink, for no reason, cause I ordered an unusual drink. I may be on the spectrum, and act a certain way, but people working in customer service should be able to handle people with disabilities, especially paying customers. There were clearly other people more intoxicated than I clearly and there was no issue with their behavior! If I was clearly that intoxicated staff and law enforcement would have clearly interviened at some point, and addressed a situation that serious. Did I order a drink that maybe you wouldn't yourself like or have the expectations that I would want that as a drink, but since it's available to make and as a paying customer . My friend and I went to Jersey Girl for Emo Karaoke Night last weekend. It was a blast! They had a beautiful outside garden where the event took place. There was an outside bar you could order from, but we had ordered from the inside one. The staff at Jersey Girl were very kind and helpful, including letting us leaf through a booklet of menus when we realized there was no food there. I tasted two very unique beers and enjoyed them both. My first beer was a Maple one, and you could definitely taste the maple flavor. My second beer was a Mango Habanero Beer. That spicy aftertaste was just what I was looking for! Although I didn't spend a lot of time inside, I will say the Tasting Room was well-decorated and very Jersey. This is my second time here and the beer did not disappoint. I used a Groupon that I was gifted for Christmas so I was able to get a flight and crowler (and I also bought a cute sticker). Get your drink on baby! I stopped in here the day before my 20+ mile hike event nearby. It was the pre-victory drink celebration and also to help me get a good nights sleep for my long day. I haven't been to a whole lot of breweries but the places I have been to have almost all been small in size. This place is no exception as it's small and parking is terrible especially if it's crowded. BREWS -- Great selection of brews that I got a sampler of and learned quickly that I absolutely hate IPAs as I nearly spit the stuff out onto a patron near me. It was that disgusting! Haha! The other 3-4 samplers I got were pretty darn yummy with my favorite being the Oktoberfest blend. OVERALL - Fairly small space with decent amount of seating but they don't have any food other than some very basic snacks like small bags of chip and that's about it. Parking is dreadful since there are only about a dozen spots outside the front door. When I visited it was so busy with some kind of special fundraiser in the brewing section/room that I had to park at a business two lots down the road hoping I didn't get towed away. Other than the crappy parking situation for me during my visit it's not a bad spot at all. They do have an outdoor area but it was raining during my visit so nobody sat outside. read more

We love going to breweries and trying beer. This place is sadly always a miss. The bartenders are really not friendly and look like they want to die when you ask them about the beers and flavors. The beer is always so bitter and stale. Not to mention everything is expensive. Last time we went we left the beers half empty and went somewhere else. Anytime they have food from the food trucks (which I won't knock them for) it's expensive and the food is very blah. Again can't knock them for food they aren't making but It definitely doesn't help get people to show up. Sadly the location is a bummer too, not really a fun place to hang out in what looks like an industrial park and next to a busy road. Was in this area of town for errands. And stopped by after seeing a Groupon for drinks and two growlers to go. Did not think it would be in an area with business buildings but it's still a cute place with an outdoor yard and plenty of tables and outdoor bar too. We ordered the new beer Eternal Vigilance and the Shore thing Hard Seltzer Blood Orange. The eternal vigilance was a light beer and tasted pretty good. A bit more of an IPA taste. A well-run brewery with a friendly staff and great beer! -The Occasion: A hankering for a delicious IPA -The Atmosphere: The cozy pre-covid tap-room had a relaxing vibe with good tunes & smiling faces. There were couches, chairs, tables and spaces to stand (when less than 6' was acceptable) ... oh, and dogs! Jersey Girl Brewing adapted wonderfully to all the curve-balls Covid threw at 2020. This summer season they rented a large tent for the front lawn and spread tables throughout the yard. They created a QC code to order when you're at a table and updated their website so ordering online was as simple as possible. They provided great beers, a food truck, live music... and were able to continue some of their regularly scheduled events! The staff was excellent at enforcing social distancing and the use of masks when you're not seated. Now that the weather is cooling down, they moved tables into the larger brewery and closed the smaller tap-room. Being in the brewery provides ample space between each table. They created a new vibe with good tunes & smiling faces (only visible once everyone is seated, of course). -The Menu: Beer, beer and more beer! (oh... and hard seltzer!) My dad, uncle and I decided to check this place out after a day of moving furniture. We decided to reward ourselves checking out the local brewery in the new area of my sister place. We came across this on Yelp and went to check it out. I appreciate the response over the phone outlining Covid precautions along with what they do with growler as I always travel with an empty one. We all grabbed a pint while chatting. My uncle and dad grabbed a much higher ABV for their pints while I had an easy one being the driver for the night. The tables were all spaced out pretty well on the production floor while the bar area in front was closed due to how small it was. We will have to be back and bringing that growler again. read more

Found Jersey Girl beer at my local liquor store and we made a point of heading up here when we found they had a brewery open to the public. While the bar area is on the smaller side it was still comfy and inviting. We managed to snag seats at the bar and were promptly handed a list of what they currently had on tap. I had only been able to try their Gabrinus as it's the only option available near me so I went with a flight of some of their more interesting beers including the Abbey, Rye and Cream Stout. I enjoyed all of them, so much so that we took a bunch of beer home as they make it easier than many breweries I've been to. They have growlers, 32oz cans (prepped in front of you) and 4 packs so you can pretty much take home anything they have on the menu at that time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They do not have food, other than chips and similar snacks, but provide you with delivery menus from local establishments they recommend. You are also able to bring your own grub which we will do next time as we plan on returning soon. read more

Right off of Route 46, a little away from the downtown area, Jersey Girl Brewery is located in what looks like an industrial area, with a good amount of office buildings. Right on the corner of one of the larger ones, you'll find them, clearly labeled from the street and situated on the front corner so it's easy to park & walk right in. Inside, they've got several tables and a bar area for orders, which is nice & clean. Gotta say I don't think I've been to a brewery as clean as Jersey Girl! Went for a special event they had going on with 105.5 WDHA, in which Coheed & Cambria were performing an acoustic set in the back area. The acoustics were amazing back there, perfect for small shows, which they host regularly. They have a second, larger bar area back there with another set of bathrooms for guests, and a few high tables to gather around. The staff was very friendly, got to chat with a few of the guys there, as well as the owner, Chuck, who's putting out a great product and truly understands how to run a clean and well-together brewery! We always joke that Brie is the unofficial mascot of NJ, and if that's not true, she is definitely a Jersey-girl, so she fit right in at Jersey Girl Brewing Company! There are over 100 breweries in NJ and I've been to half of them. @JerseyGirlBeer has always been my favorite. It's not the closest brewery to us but we always end up there. They always have at least 10 beers to choose from so everyone can find something delicious. We've been there for our birthdays, my son's bachelor party, trivia, music, cornhole and pre- dinner pints. If I've been there 30 times, Chuck, one of the owners, has been there 27 which shows what a hands on business #JerseyGirlBrewing is. The tasting room has a cool, comfortable vibe. Julie and I were done early with our Sunday hike and decided to put all those calories back in, with a little brewery crawl. Jersey Girl was our second one. It's a nice bar. We were hoping for an outside sitting area but the brewery is in a warehouse area. The bar is cozy, chilled and has nice couches and high tables. There were a few people but wasn't packed. They were playing easy rock, which I feel was right for the crowd. We ordered a flight. The glasses come on a nice wooden board in the shape of NJ state. We got the King Gambrinus, the Bockbier, the Rake Breaker and the Calyptose (Milkshake IPA). Julie liked her Gambrinus the best. My favorite was the Rake Breaker. I love these beers in a can. However at the tap room they pour the beer flat. I don't understand why you would pour a beer with no head at a brewery but I saw numerous beers poured with no head!!! Your typical industrial park brewery with proud NJ flair. My best friend lives in the area and raves about their IPAs so we figured we check it out at the source. It wasn't crazy busy when we stopped by on an early Saturday evening. The bar area was packed with folks sitting down; it was a bit hard to wave down a bartender to get some beers. We resorted to referring to a menu and deciding from there. My friend got a pint of a Mosaic/Amarillo NE-Style IPA (Gold Rush) while I got a flight of the King Gambrinus (award winning Belgium Tripel), Farmers Tan (saison), Sun Kissed Citra IPA (NE-style IPA), and Ultimate Side Gig (Blood Orange Berliner Weisse). The flights were adorable! 4 on a Jersey shaped flight holder. And if you couldn't tell, I love my blonde yet developed beers. The only ones that stood out were the IPAs. I was disappointed with the rest of the beers because they all tasted the same to me... sweet. They were light, sweet beers. I hardly could differentiate from the tripel, saison, and weisse. They're very different styles but all were distinctly not distinct. There's plenty of parking and seating available. Some couches, board games, and free tours. I've been to many a brewery in NJ so I'm alright with not attending another. Overall, not terribly impressed. Stick to the IPAs! read more

This brewery is much larger than we first realized. The front tasting room is well decorated and staffed by at least two pourers. There are a few high stop tables and 3 couches with a coffee table in the center. After ordering our flights, we made our way to the back tasting room and sat at one of the picnic tables. We ordered food from one of the local delivery restaurants and enjoyed our beers. My friend and I both enjoyed the blood orange ale, my husband liked the porter, and my friend's husband liked the pale ale #2. The brewing area is huge. These folks definitely plan to grow and are positioned to grow quickly. The tour, which is given regularly, was better than most other brewery tours. The brewery is making a serious effort to be as green as possible and those measures are noted in the tour. Once again and to nobody's surprise, the husband liked the porter #2, but also liked the American Wheat. Overall, the beers were good but not outstanding. Very friendly staff though! read more

Jersey Girl Brewing reminds me of an old Yogi Berra comment "nobody goes there anymore, it is to crowded". This is how I felt at Jersey Girl Brewing. Uncomfortable. I have been to a fair number of breweries in various states. On each stop, I learn something new. Something in common. Or just something. Period. One thing I learned; a "brewery" is not a "bar". There is some agency or association that follows up on this. At Jersey Girl Brewing they have these bar stools by the bar that makes it difficult to order a beverage because of their placement. It is place along the whole length of the bar. It was a pain. This along with three couches and 4 or 5 high top tables with more bar stools. Can't get to the bartenders. While it was busy on a Saturday afternoon; it could have been more comfortable for everyone with removal of couches and bar stools. The setup was like Clint Eastwood would say in the movie Heartbreak Ridge "it is a cluster Fxxx". Another option is needed, stat. Now the beer. I only had an IPA. It was good. Another thing I learn from my travels is I like tasting all the beers. I want to go ooh and aah about their beers. I was not able. Bummer. Overall, I will go back. I like to support The New Jersey Beer Movement. I think our state has some very delicious beers that hold up to any beer. Jersey Girl Brewing is making some noise. Although the name "Jersey Girl" may evoke feelings of lightheartedness, the brewery is actually a very involved and serious operation. They have quite a large brewing system in the back for an independently owned company, and they are in the process of distributing throughout New Jersey, all the way to the southern tip of the state. The crowd that comes here is the more sophisticated crowd. When I walked in, I immediately thought it was very classy. There are lots of well established families with their adult kids who come here together to relax. One of the owners, Chuck, makes it a point that everyone is greeted when they come in. He knows almost everybody on a first name basis, and if you're a new customer, he will make you feel welcome. I also respect how Jersey Girl Brewing views the tour requirement of the NJ Beverage Commission law not as a burden, but as a marketing tool to show off their place. They have regularly scheduled tours, where they let people into the back and show them around. The beers are very bold, and the flavors really jump out at you. The sophisticated beer aficionados will be happy here. I also like how they have a fridge with canned beer ready to go, so that customers know it's available. Now I will get to still enjoy Jersey Girl beer even when I am back at home all the way in Toms River. read more

This is a fun spot! I purchased the groupon for a beer tour, flights, empty growler, and tours for two people which was $19.99. We weren't really interested in the tour and it wasn't offered when we came in. I thought the beers were pretty good, and I actually ended up mixing some of them. I mixed mo pils with the lemon hef and I thought it had the perfect amount of tartness. The lemon hef on it's own was too tart for my taste. Also, like most breweries, there's no food here but they allow you to order or bring in outside snacks. My fiancee was kind of disappointed they didn't have a stout (or really anything similar) so I wish they would add that to the menu, but other than that we thought the beers were pretty good! What a nice brewery, came here because of the 10 dollar groupon which included a flight, empty growler and a tour. They had 9 beers on tap, so my friend and I both got 4 of the 9, and the bartender gave us the brown to try no extra charge. I was very impressed by the high quality of beer, I enjoyed all of them. 30 barrel brewery using no filtration, tours personally lead by the two partners Mike and Chuck, $6 pints and $8 flights, also fresh beer in cans! Growlers filled too, $15-24 for a half gallon depending on the beer. Someday the bourbon-barrel-aged stout will be ready! I found the beers strong and very malty, maybe I choose poorly with my flight. Their golden unfiltered lager was very good, the coffee-chocolate-stout was over the top. Pricey cans @ $13 for four 16oz. Ok the slick new room in a generic office park isn't much of an atmosphere for a Jersey Girl but don't let that bother you. The usual tasting room rules, bring your own food. Worth the trip to Hackettstown. For beer geeks: Mike told us all about mobile canning lines, cans, labels, cardboard and more.
