I love Jersey Mike's Subs. Whenever I'm in Kitchener, I drop by the closest Jersey Mike's near the GTA (crazy!) to get my fix. The funny thing is that I have never had Jersey Mike's stateside. Well, I finally knocked that off my to-do list. I was driving along Yankee Doodle Road and my head turned. I saw the Jersey Mike's sign and was elated. I made a mental note in my head to drop by. After a fun evening at Nature Illuminated, I needed to grab some dinner. I decided that a sub from Jersey Mike's would be perfect. I had no problem finding a parking spot at around 8:30 pm. This eatery is in a small plaza with Caribou Coffee partnership with some bagel place. I backed into a spot and walked into the eatery. There were a couple of folks ahead of me in the lineup. The fact that it was busy at this hour spoke volumes. A polite man behind the counter said that he'd help me soon. I was looking at all the deli meats and cheese in front of me, salivating behind my mask. He was done making a sandwich and was ready for my order. I tend to order the same sub because I love it so much. I got number 9 on the menu, which is the club supreme. It's the same number on the menu on either side of the border. I got a regular sub in size, on rosemary parmesan bread. The club supreme has roast beef, turkey, provolone, applewood smoked bacon, and mayo. I got it Mike's way, minus onions. I also got a can of Stubborn vanilla cream soda. I looked at the cookies. This place has David Cookies, which is based in New York. I have heard great things about the cookies from this place that I had to get a decadent triple chocolate cookie. I went to pay for my food with a credit card. The transaction went through just fine. I watched the man's colleague put my sandwich together. I continued salivating. He packaged my sub and handed it over to me. He wished me a great Christmas. I reciprocated. The other man said that I could grab my drink from the fridge. I thanked him, too, and went over to fetch my drink before leaving the eatery. I then drove back to my hotel room to chow down. My sandwich was yummy. Everything tasted fresh. I loved everything in this sub. Roast beef, turkey, and bacon are the best protein trifecta in a sub. The rosemary parmesan bread was perfect. The decadent triple chocolate cookie lived up to its name. Wow! It was chewy, chocolatey, and heavenly to eat. I love cream soda. The Stubborn vanilla cream soda was amazing. I wish that it didn't have so much sugar in it, but it's worth treating myself here and there. I am so glad that I got my Jersey Mike's fix here. I look forward to returning for more. David's Cookies makes brownies. I want one or many. (499)

I love jersey mikes sandwiches. My fav are they Philly and Italian combo. I always love them and I enjoy having them. They even have keto option which they give sandwich in a box with out bread. Get the sandwiches in Mikes way and it's good. They maintain the place clean and service is quick and fast.

#13 The Original Italian "Mike's Way"

First time at a Jersey Mike's and I have been wanting to try this franchise for a while now. The sandwich was very fresh and had that Italian feel to it, especially because I got it "Mike's Way" which basically just means you get the full Italian experience by adding spices, vinaigrette and veggies to the sandwich. The line was long when I walked in but it moved fast and gave me time to think of what I wanted so it was fine. The service was alright, could have been better. They seemed like they wanted to push people out the door and keep the line moving instead of caring about what the customer wants on their sandwich. The prices were normal but the sandwich was great so 4 stars it is. I would recommend this to anybody that enjoys Italian cuisine with a franchise spin to it.

Old school all the way. There's a restaurant in the back, and a full-scale deli counter in the front. It is such a good stop. They have their own private parking lot too. Wood paneling, and a bunch of local reviews all over the walls. Clean, normal sound. Simple, with excellent customer service, and a huge menu that will have something that you like. Packed the midweek afternoon we visited, and we did not wait for a table. Loved my bowl of Matzo Soup, superb broth and the Matzo was delicious. Enjoyed my BLT on whole wheat and the homemade potato salad was amazing! Had a cherry cobbler for dessert that was incredible. Restaurant has been open for over 70 years, and I met the owner/manager, Cecil, afterward, and he just oozes customer service being a priority. It's a must-visit place.

The line for baked goods was also busy but moved quick and wow - I regret not getting any of the baked goods. They looked phenomenal. I had the Leonard Da Vinci which was outstanding. The gardiniera was the perfect level of spice and the sandwich was jam packed with salami and turkey. The Cole slaw was also delicious. The vibe inside is very Eastern European deli authentic which is so fun. They had tons of to go items for sale as well and a huge grab and go beverage selection. The seating area was spacious and packed on a warm spring day.

On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.

I was on the street in front of Clancy's when one of their customers was mis-identified as an officer of an organization that was terrorizing Minneapolis. It had nothing to do with Clancy's! As I tried to get to my car, people yelled the most obscene and disgusting epitaphs at the couple in front of me. I was just walking down Grand Avenue. They were even spitting at this innocent individual. As a liberal who marched for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s, I was horrified. Blaming Clancy's is ignorant, and an integral part of how this country is dismantling. Clancy's Meats & Fish is important to our neighborhood, and represents the kindness and empathy that has been representative of Minnesota for decades. Give them your support.

The store is right next to a kosher sushi spot which is pretty convenient for those who keep kosher. When I walked in, it was quite crowded with a lot of other Jews ( I am also Jewish) which I always take as a great sign, but the selection was super limited compared to what I am used to and the prices were incredibly high for most normal items. I know there is always a large markup for kosher items, but this was significantly higher than I have seen before and seemed to apply to items which are generally kosher by default like oil and other regular household supplies. Furthermore, a lot of the items have no price tag - especially the freezer section which made me have no idea what I was going to pay until I got up front. I ended up leaving with a box of frozen knishes (7.99) and a refrigerated pair of knishes (4.99). The refrigerated section knishes were delicious, I heated them back up in the oven when I got home and really enjoyed it. Much better than the knish I had at Cecil's. But as a store, the prices are way too high for me to give a higher rating even though it is nice to see a kosher store.
