I was in the area so I decided to pickup a Chicken Salad Sub, an item that was put back on the menu just recently, though it has been reworked a bit. This version also includes slow roasted white meat chicken, diced celery, mayo, and a dash of black pepper.Just as before. But now the chicken is pre diced chicken, making the prep easier for the restaurant. I ordered the sub Mike's way but with the oil & vinegar on the side, and added banana peppers, salt and a bit more pepper, and oregano. This is a good chicken salad sub, but because the chicken is so lean the mayo needs to be increased to properly season the sub. Once done this was perhaps the best such fast food sub I've had, right up there with Jason's Deli. I hope it will be available for a while! read more

Stopped in for a quick sandwich. Ordered the original Italian. This is one of my go to subs. This time, the casing was left on the pepperoni. When I bit in the casing pulled off in a long string. Not cool. The service was efficient. The store was clean and bright. The employees did their jobs but offered nothing extra. I have been in before and had great service. Come on Kville. Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. When you don't want to go out or cook it's a good choice. The ingredients and bread are always fresh. The staff are always friendly and cheerful. I went to this Jersey Mike two minutes before closing time, and there door was locked. I understand that it's New Year Eve, but I gestured 2 minutes left to the staff and they gestured back with attitude. One of them came and opened the door and told me they close at 6pm for New Year Eve and I replied it's 5:59. To which he said we're closed a minute before closing with an attitude. This was a cater order from myself to the nursing staff at Kernersville VA. One person reported to me reluctantly a few weeks later that she had found a hair in her tuna sandwich. Though I was not there and she waited 2 wks to tell me, I was ill at the thought of it. She declined to try any if the other sandwiches and I really don't blame her. I went to the Kernersville store anyway and of course the manager was out. I spoke to a kid named Jackson I think. His expression said, he couldn't have possibly cared less. Just stayed that on the day of the order they wdve replaced the sandwich. I asked if staff wore hair nets and he replied the rule is they must wear their hair "up". Unless you enjoy waiting 20 minutes while watching total disorganization and results of poor training of staff to get a sub for lunch, I suggest going elsewhere! The sub was good once I finally got it which raised my rating from 1 star to 2. I've been a regular at other locations for years that are much more busy at lunch with half the amount of staff and am amazed every time I visit this one of how poorly it is ran! The entire staff needs to be re-trained or just completely revamped. The employees can be short with customers and it is very uncomfortable to witness. I have never seen such inefficient, impatient staff. And they just opened not too long ago, so I guess it's all downhill from here. I ordered (and paid) online and read that I should go straight to the counter to pick up my order. The cashier glared at me, because she thought I was cutting the line. I guess she hasn't been on the Jersey Mike's website. And then, count them--3 employees--said they didn't do online orders, and just stood there and stared at me, then at each other, then shrugged. Then while one went to look for my order, the other two ran back and forth like headless chickens. So bizarre!! My last gripe is that the staff doesn't seem to understand the purpose of their plastic gloves--FYI it's not to keep YOUR hands clean, guys--it's to make sure the food you SELL is clean. i.e. You are not supposed to have the same gloves on after pressing buttons at the register, handling money, making subs, wrapping subs, handling pens, running debit cards, etc. Otherwise, what's the point of wearing gloves, and why don't you just keep all those things--the pens, paper bills, deli meat, bread, and vegetables all in one bin? Waited 35 min for my order placed online to be prepared. One mistake on my sandwich as well. Processed orders of people who walked in before mine (that was order 15 min prior). Even waited on a friend and made his hot sub before mine. These high schoolers need adult supervision - they do not know what they are doing. I was taken aback by the top notch customer demonstrated by the employees. They're always willing to go above and beyond for the customers needs. The food always taste amazing and I will be coming back again. I walked in the store on April 12th during the dinner hour and I stood back from the counter waiting to be addressed. I am a middle aged Black Woman. I observed a tall white gentleman speaking with who appeared to be a manager . I over heard them discussing his order over to the right of me was an older white man who appeared to be waiting like me. The line had people in it whom appeared to be ordering. There were no orders on the pick up table, and I surely didn't have a bag in my hand indicating I was with any food delivery service. I was waiting for the cashier to address me as to my need or purpose in the store when she clearly had made eye contact at least three times and I was obviously not in the sandwich line. A white woman customer was in line with what appeared to be two teen young girls. The cashier continually engaged with them even after handing over their food. The cashier made no attempt to acknowledge me standing and waiting to be addressed. I finally asked if they had an online order for the name the order was in. The cashier then finally went to the back counter grabbed chips came from behind the counter and grabbed the drinks and came back to hand my food over the counter. Never once did she apologize for never addressing me or the fact that order was not completed ready to walk out the door. I waited at least 10 to 12 minutes. Like an invisible person. I left the store and got in my car . I decided not to settle with this behavior. I called back to the store and asked for a manager . I explained the entire situation as I have stated . The manger literally said i was correct about a policy and procedure not being followed through when I explained what I explained. He also made excuses for the cashiers behavior stating she was a trainee and they do good at that store. He also said he was there to help out. I am never stepping foot in the establishment again not even to pick up an order that belongs to someone else. I felt it was somewhat racist , after seeing the review from Chasity L. dated 3/8/21 apparently I am correct this store has a reputation for ignorance and racist acts. I like Jersey Mike's. The one on Wendover in Jamestown is my favorite, but this location in Kernersvile is by far the worst. I totally agree with Jason on the one star review. This is a fairly new place in Kernersville. I've always had good experiences at Jersey Mike's elsewhere. Today was my second trip to this particular one. I wanted to see if I would have the same great experience as my first visit. Yes-yes-yes! I tried a different sandwich and it was daggone good! The fun thing today is the owner chatted with us. We learned he was an animal lover, too. With the animal segue, I know from experience animal people are good people. Subs are fresh and well put together. The staff is friendly, however this location simply cannot handle a large influx of customers. I have twice made the mistake of coming during the lunch rush. If you order a cooked sub off the grill be prepared to wait up to 20 minutes as I had to. The problem other than spending nearly a quarter of a lunch break waiting is that my wife ordered a cold sub Mike's way that was terribly soggy when she opened it and she could hardly eat any of it. The manager became visibly upset with her staff and began speaking harshly to some who were not moving efficiently. Great location, however it may need to look into new management. read more

This was my first time at this location and although the food was good the atmosphere was very unwelcoming. I actually know some of the workers there and some of their experiences while working. I've been told by multiple employees (I would rather not name because I don't want them to get in any trouble) that the Manager Shannon uses the N-word openly, which is why I was so skeptical on coming to this specific location however this was the closest one to at the time. The employees were very friendly at first which was a good thing! However after I paid for my sub and was waiting for my food to get done the manager yelled at one of the employees that was going to clock out. While I was there there was pretty good amount of other customers in there along with all the other employees so the manager Shannon should not have yelled at the employee in front of everyone. Not only is it unprofessional on her part its disrespectful and I can only imagine the embarrassment that employees felt when she got yelled at in front of everyone. I've worked in restaurants for years and have never been yelled at in-front of customers or employees. If something is wrong you pull that employee aside privately so speak to them. Just from witnessing this I will NOT be returning to this location. Being a manager you're supposed to make your employees feel welcome and comfortable if can not deliver that they will be miserable while working which affects how they're working and how their mood is.
