This is a solid choice for good bar food in the area, especially a smashburger! The first time I had Joey's I was thoroughly impressed. I will say that it hasn't been consistent for us, though, as far as the quality of food and service. I've never had a bad meal necessarily, but some visits are better than others. The staff is always super nice! One Sunday afternoon we came in about 2:30/3, and there were maybe 4 other diners there. We didn't receive our food for about 45 minutes and it was nothing overly complicated so that was odd. Just things like that I've noticed. However, when it's good, it's real good! After a hiking event in Kernersville, we came upon this spot thanks to Yelp. It was a pretty enjoyable meal overall! They have an outdoor patio in the front which made for a nice atmosphere, as inside was a little loud though probably tolerable enough. Our service was speedy and quite friendly, and we all enjoyed our food. The smash patty was a decent effort, but the price is rather high for what it was. I do feel that my cali burger could've been somewhat spicier too, but I like heat. My onion rings, while nicely done, also probably should be on the standard sides menu. I arrived at 7:33pm on a Wednesday to celebrate my son's birthday. It was recommended by a Yelp buddy. I could smell the food from the parking lot, which is a good sign. Inside, we were seated promptly. At 7:37pm, a young, friendly waiter came over. I don't believe he said his name but per the receipt, his name was Tommy C. He was great! My son even committed on his customer service. We ordered waters. My son eagerly let him know it was his birthday. The waiter told my son he would have a treat at the end if he was still hungry. At 7:46pm I ordered a small cheese curds to hold my son and I over until my sister arrived. The cheese curds arrived at 7:50pm. They were so delicious and very cheesy. My son showed me various cheese pulls. My son ate them with the ranch it came with and I ate them with ketchup. At 8:05pm, my sister finally arrived. She got a water and I ordered a sweet tea for myself and a pink lemonade for my son. We ordered entrees at 8:12pm. My son got the single Texas burger without lettuce and fries. I got the double Texas burger without lettuce and sweet potato fries. My sister ended up not getting anything. The food came at 8:19pm, which was surprisingly quick! The onion rings on the burger wasn't very good. It was hard vs the perfect crisp. Thai indicates that it may not had been fresh. I wish the bacon was crispier than it was. I enjoyed my sweet potato fries for the most part. Some of them were overcooked. This plus the cheese curds filled me up. At 8:45pm, I myself ordered small (kids) cookie butter shake. Although I was full, I wanted to try it) and customizations of my son's treat. My son treat with a chocolate sundae with chocolate chips. My son's treat came before mine (which was fine). He enjoyed it and left zero drops lol. My shake tastes fine. There was too much whip cream. There is a separate side for the bar which is a nice separation to suite all types of customers. 4.9 Came out here on a whim from Greensboro looking for the best Smashburger in the area. For starters, the restaurant was clean. Sports type bar lots of TVs. We were greeted and sat and taken care of quickly. We started with the Brussels appetizer which was delicious. Roasted Brussels with cranberries, balsamic, and a garlic aioli and they were just great. We split them between the two of us. Crispy outside and soft inside. I ordered the original and added jalepenos and my partner ordered the double Hawaiian. Both were Delicious!!! They looked so good being set on the table that we didn't even take pics because we dove in. Perfection! The brioche like bun was toasted and just the perfect addition. Inhaled them both. The onion rings were also DELICIOUS! Perfect batter and perfect crisp. Sweet potato fries also delicious. I will order the Hawaiian next time because we WILL be back. Don't sleep on that burger. Lovely local burger spot! Good reviews on Instagram and Google so we drove 30 minutes...it's worth it! Were promptly greeted and asked for a name but didn't have to wait long for a table. Very clean inside, with a rather large menu. All employees we encountered were very enthusiastic, nice and seemed happy to work there. But the food !!! As a burger bar, this was surprisingly delicious definitely want to go back and try one of everything. I am craving more of the chili (no beans in the recipe) that was on my Carolina Burger, I have plans to grab a whole bowl of this chili one cold winter day but for now, will enjoy it on the awesome smash burgers. My bf ate his Philly so fast he contemplated ordering another. My food had came with a side of truffle fries (upgrade) in which the portion was so large that we couldn't eat all of them (comes with a sumptuous garlic mayo). The prices weren't bad, the food came fast and accurate and our waitress kept the sweet tea filled. The inside has a California coastal vibe and multiple tv's playing sports channels but wasn't overly loud. This night there were lots of families ranging from infants to geriatrics...comfy and welcoming place for all inside. Had the Hawaii Burger so the pineapple and bourbon sauce played very well. Side of tots seasoned and crispy very good. Did not have any drinks that night looked like they had a great bourbon selection fyi. Now we also had the wings they do tell you they take a while because they are fresh. We are ok with that. As far as the wing it self it was good and crispy. We ordered them with mango habanero sauce maybe because it was late but there was hardly any sauce on the wings. As a lover of burgers almost as much as pizza, I can attest that this place knows the meaning of a smashburger! It's been a few weeks since I stopped in for a quick lunch, but that doesn't mean I've forgotten. You know it's a great experience when you can still taste the bites you took of a perfectly smashed burger weeks later. For me, a smashburger has to have those crispy edges from a flat patty that is significantly bigger than the bun. But not the overcooked kind of crispy. Crispy on the edge, but nice and juicy everywhere else. My Texas Burger fit this profile perfectly. The onion rings, bacon and sauces complemented the patty very well. Not only did it have bbq sauce, but a bbq aioli that gave it an extra bit of depth and flavor I wasn't expecting. No need to go to any other smashburger joint, this spot is perfect when craving that kind of burger. The menu also has plenty of apps, salads and hot dogs in addition to the numerous burger options. We were in Oak Ridge last weekend and made a point of stopping in at Joey's for lunch. We arrived about noon on Saturday. Located in the Lowes Foods shopping area it was easy to find. In front they have a large patio area which when the weather is nice would be a great place to soak up the sun and enjoy a good meal. We were immediately greeted by the young lady at the hostess station. She provided us menus and took us to a small booth. The interior is decorated with a beach like theme and is tasteful and not overdone in our opinion. They also have several TV's mounted throughout which makes this a great location for watching sports, etc. We didn't sit in the bar area but did see they have a full bar, counter seating as well as several tables. Our server, Logan stopped in and introduced himself. He was extremely pleasant and took our drink orders. We looked over the menu and everything sounded delicious. We appreciated the variety of appetizers, burgers, chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, wings, salads, and various sides. The prices are a bit higher than some places but similar to other craft burger places in the Triad. My wife chose the double mushroom Swiss burger with no bun and a side salad. I chose the double Texas burger with fries as my side. We did notice they charge an additional $3 for a side salad which is our only complaint. My wife used the restroom and said it was very clean and well stocked which is always a good sign. Our orders arrived quickly and looked delicious! We both really love a good smash burger and were glad we both opted to order the doubles. Since my wife's was without the bun it was served in a small bowl which made it easy to cut up and enjoy. I always start my meal with the fries and they were cooked perfectly. We both thought the burgers were excellent. My wife enjoyed her side salad but thought for the price it was on the small side, it would be great if they could reduce the up charge but we understand produce is more expensive than potatoes. We both commented on how friendly, efficient and professional Logan was. He was knowledgeable as well. We really appreciated the attention he gave us and each of the tables in our area. Smashburger lover approved! We went to check out this new burger place in Oak Ridge last night, because we really liked the images coming from our fellow Yelpers. The brussel sprouts appetizer looked really good, and the smashburgers looked like they were being done by people who truly understand the term. A lot of places I've been lately seem to think that lightly pressing the patty into the grill makes something a smashburger. Nope. If that burger isn't mostly flat with lots of crispy brown tasty edges, it's not a smashburger! As hinted, we ordered some brussel sprouts for an appetizer. These were definitely excellent. Perfectly crispy outside with tender inside. Good mix of both savory flavors from the bacon and spicy, married nicely with the sweet balsamic vinegar and dried cranberries. Also enjoyed the sauce lightly drizzled over top that brough the garlic flavor. Recommended! While I'm sure to try other more complicated burgers in the future, I opted for the classic, hold the lettuce and tomato, add pickles. So just a double smashburger with american cheese, grilled onion, pickle, special sauce... which to me, is the ultimate classic to ensure you taste the beef and cheese. Appearance when it came out was perfect. Flat patties with lacey brown edges, breaking off a crispy bit was lovely. Challah bread bun is a solid choice. While it was definitely two slices american cheese, the sheer flatness of the patty almost commanded another slice in there, personal preference, great as is. Pickles and grilled onions did their job to switch up the hearty flavors. First bite was really good, but I wanted a little more zing. Yellow mustard was available tableside, upon adding a light drizzle of that, it was perfect. The hot chips were nice and crisp, no floppies, love it. I do not understand floppy chip people. It's not a chip, it's a underdone potato! Ranch was very good for those that need to know this info (and we do). My wife had onion rings with her crispy chicken sandwich (had a bite, liked it a lot, very nice tangy Korean sauce), good portion. No one likes to be under-onion-ringed. I might have fried mine for just another minute, but I'm really all about the crisp, if y'all can't tell. We also couldn't help but go for a milkshake at the end, and the fruit loops shake was legitimately like taking the straw to the bottom of a fruit loops bag with ice cream. I mean that in the best of ways, you all know the fruity powder at the bottom and what it does to the milk... All in all. Excellent visit. Can't wait to go back and try other burgers. If you want a good smash burger and beer without driving into WS or GSO then Joey's has you! The restaurant has two sides, first, a bar and tables where you can watch sports on several TVs. The other side is a sit down dining room. It's located in the former Rio restaurant and I love the newly opened space and color scheme. The menu has several burger, salads, Sammies, wings and other types of appetizer choices. The beer options are plenty from domestic beers to craft beers. There is an outdoor seating area as well which adds to the charm of the restaurant. Overall a very good local burger and beer joint. We will be adding Joeys to our dining rotation. read more

(Don't worry folks, I definitely took a BIG bite from my husband's burger and *chef's kiss*) The chicken, as titled, was crispy and the sauce gave it a nice tang coupled with the cool coleslaw. I got onion rings for my side, which were delicious, but it came with this unique BBQ aioli sauce which they could easily bottle and sell if they wanted. Speaking of aioli, y'all need to get the brussel sprouts, which are topped with parm cheese, cranberries, balsamic glaze, and GARLIC AIOLI. I could drink this stuff. It's such a unique flavor combined with the bitter and savory brussels and that sweet hit of cranberries. It's been days and I'm still thinking about those brussels. We ended the evening with an over-the-top, delicious "Fruity Loops" milkshake, which also comes in a boozy version called "Loopy Loops" (extra points for the funny name). We are excited to say that we have a new phenomenal smash burger spot in the area! Upon arriving around 6:30 it was VERY busy however this did not compromise the service or the pace of getting our food. Our waitress was attentive and we didn't wait very long on apps or entrees. The Brussel sprouts were out of this world good. I'll get these every single time I come. It's hard to find perfectly cooked and seasoned brussels so the fact that these were so good makes me excited. We also got wings as an appetizer and they were good as well. It's nice to have a good wing and beer place close by. Our smash burgers were cooked perfectly - juicy on the inside with crispy edges. I also like that they have a lot of different style burgers you can choose from. Mine had goat cheese and pepper jelly and my husbands had onion rings and bbq sauce. The only thing I will say is that my burger patty could have used more seasoning. My husband said his was seasoned perfectly and he liked the added peppery notes of his burger. The fries were seasoned nicely and my Mac and cheese was super creamy. I also had the honey pineapple sour and it was a great cocktail! Overall a really good experience and we will be back to order more off their extensive menu.
