When I want a hot sub I always go to the Penn Station. One of my favorite subs I get there is the chicken teriyaki: chicken breast with teriyaki sauce, swiss cheese, onions and mushrooms. The teriyaki sauce is not too salty or sweet. I like my bread toasted. Everytime I order for my bread to be toasted I get it crisp without it being overly toasted like other sub shops. They make the best handcut in house fries. There fries are made fresh from Idaho potatoes and fried in peanut oil. Subs are delicious and food comes out fast. Should definitely try them out.

Not sure why I haven't gotten subs/sandwiches from them before. I'll start off by saying they were fairly quick. The bread is highly underrated (way better than Jimmy Johns/Jersey Mikes). It has a good crust and crunch to it, but the inside still soft. Very good flavor in itself as well. The meat and veggie selection is great and you can get both cold or grilled. I've been getting the Dagwood where you can create your own sandwich and toppings. The fries were still very crisp and not soggy at all....lasted through the car ride.

I used to love this place. But today I paid $10 for a mayo sandwich and grease sticks. I ordered a chicken teriyaki, my usual here. There was so much mayo on the sandwich I couldn't taste any teriyaki sauce. But I supposed the amount of mayo was to camouflage the fact there was very little chicken or onions on the sandwich. They also double fried the French fires for so long they tasted more like grease than potato. I threw them away thinking my sandwich would be of normal quality and I'd have a decent meal. Positive: The bread was top notch. The two stars is solely for the bread.

Surprised by the low rating for Penn Station Subs! Certainly a notch or two above Subway, but not as good as a true deli. You can order your subs in 6", 8", 10", or a foot! I went with the 8" Reuben with the sauerkraut and cheese toppings! The sandwich was really good, a decent amount of meat, but possibly too much cheese! It was flavorful, but thankfully I went light on the sauerkraut as it's a bit overpowering! The hand cut fries are fantastic and perhaps some of the best I've ever had! From the previous sampled Philly Cheesesteak, to the recent Reuben, there are certainly worse options than Penn Station Subs!

Italian sub (cold) no tomato, no banana peppers, extra oregano and extra mayo. Jalapeño kettle chips

This place has improved over the years. I got a cold Italian sub with no tomatoes, no banana peppers and extra mayo and extra oregano, jalapeño chips and drink which all came up to $9.58. The only issue with this is that I got a small 6 inch sub. There are several other sub places that have a better size sub for much less. Overall not a bad choice but they could improve their pricing, at least offer a combo deal. Everything is al a carte here.

Philly cheesesteak and fries!

I am going to go with, one of the best cheesesteaks in Greensboro. The bread is always toasted perfectly and the combination of spicy mustard, mayo, and mushrooms make this a hit.

My husband and I were in downtown Greensboro on a Saturday afternoon and decided to hit this place up for lunch. When they called the place The Bodega, they really mean it's a bodega. It's decked out like a small convenience store from the second you walk in. We ordered our food at the cash register to eat at one of their tables outside. The cashier brought our sandwiches out about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Turkey Caesar. It had turkey, shaved parmesan, marinated cherry tomato, house-made Caesar dressing, onion, and romaine lettuce in an 8" sandwich roll. It was a little pricey at $15, but it was worth the splurge. The dressing and parmesan cheese were unbelievable! Since this is in downtown Greensboro, there is no dedicated parking lot but we easily found street parking nearby. The place has a few tables outside for customers to enjoy their food. If you're looking for a good sandwich, I highly recommend checking The Bodega out.

With a few adjustments to the obvious (having silverware at the table when seating customers, and keeping a real eye out for drinks) this place might be alright. I ordered the Madison Avenue which is a croissant smeared with honey walnut cream cheese, smoked turkey, and granny smith apples. My side was slaw and I also ordered fries with a side of ranch. Upon walking in the place appeared clean, the customer service, not the best. But maybe someone was having a bad day, I get it. I'm so glad I did check my bag before I left because they did not give me ranch or plasticware, man I would have missed out on some amazing ranch. The young man gave me three ranches which I'm so disappointed I only grabbed one. Unfortunately I didn't get the best pictures but the food tasted great. The fries were thick cut (probably frozen) and let me tell you, I would just come back for the ranch! They have my favorite restaurant ranch. The slaw was really tasty - good ole southern sweet mayonnaise slaw, not too vinegary. The sandwich, not bad, good combo of toppings, they paired well together. I' ll be back. Anyone want to go for a patio lunch? Ciao for now

They offer a great variety of sandwiches, both hot and cold, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, and salads. All items come with chips, fries, pasta salad, potato salad or baked beans. I went with their steak and cheese, with fries and it hit just right! The sandwich was a good size, but the fries is where they get real generous! The steak and cheese was great, as was the mountain of fries, nice crunch on the outside, and soft inside. Their fries are definitely noteworthy, I've never had this style anywhere else before, they're an odd hybrid between a potato chip and a French fry, but I really enjoyed them. Prices were very fair, they charge a little bit more for credit card use, but not much at all. The cashier was friendly, we placed our orders at the counter, and they'll call out your name when it's ready. For lunch on a Friday, I was impressed how quickly they were turning orders out. The interior is very spacious, providing plenty of seating, though a bit dated with it's checkerboard floor, it's got a bit of a nostalgic 50's diner feel. Overall, it was a great visit, and somewhere i'll surely be going back to again soon!! This is a Saltah (traditional Yemeni stew) with melt in your mouth lamb that came out piping hot and bubbling in a clay bowl (see vid). You can feel, hear, smell and taste the authenticity in this dish. Spices and flavors flowing all over. It comes out with an amazing garlic sauce and a Yemeni style green sauce, almost like a salsa.
