Stopped in for lunch. Ordered the salad bar. Went up and got my plate and went through the line. All the lettuce was frozen so I opted for spinach. Added my toppings and dressing and sat down to eat. Very pleased with my meal and the chocolate mousse was excellent. Went for round two and was dismayed to see they had not properly cleaned the tray and had left food particles on it. Not a huge deal because I was putting my food on the plates, but it's the little things. No complaints on food for round 2. Got more mousse and was able to get lettuce this time. An employee had been working on stocking the salad bar while I ate my first plate and continued during my second. While I ate my second serving someone I assume may have been a manager of sorts came out and was giving the employee stocking feedback. I then watched the manager start filling containers by ADDING THE REFILL ON TOP - no rotating, no changing containers, just adding on top. Not acceptable. Seating is and always has been cramped in here. I had to weave around tables to get to my seat. We also saw someone have their sunglasses knocked off their head by someone exiting to the patio because their table was that close to the door. The gentleman picking up trays and plates was smiling and quick. It was nice to see! read more

Predictable and ok food. Since I don't eat meat, sometimes finding a good option is a little challenging. However, the salad bar is reliably a good idea (for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike) when dining in. Also, they do baked potatoes! At my last visit, I got grilled cheese and tomoto soup. The rye bread was delicious and so pretty with its swirling rye marbling. However, there wasn't nearly enough cheese in the sandwich. Also, the tomato basil soups tasted like mass produced soup from a bag (think Panera). I was grateful to have an easy veg option, but it was just alright. The space was big and had a lot of tables. Also, there were a couple of employees who were bussing tables quickly, which was awesome. To me, this is a spot to eat in a pinch and not somewhere to sit and enjoy a meal. I went on a Sunday evening and they had very light traffic inside. With the light crowd, you would anticipate clean tables in a self service restaurant. Maybe they should leave out some cleaning supplies so I could clean my own table. Every vacant table was dirty and I'm always skeptical of my food when I see an unclean dining room. I was disappointed with my experience here that I will more than likely never come back here. I came here with my family for lunch. The sandwiches were looking slim for the amount each sandwich cost. My mom was excited to get the dill pickle wrap until it arrived to the table. It was extremely lacking of dill pickles for this ingredient incorporated into the wrap name. The dill pickle salad tasted like straight up mayo and cheese , no dill at all. The dining room inside and out were all disgusting to where we were limited on seating options and had to push tables together. I haven't been here in years (decades maybe), but I am happy to say they still have the soft serve machine and salad bar. I appreciate the gluten-sensitive menu and had a lot more options than I expected. The staff (Gen Z age employees) were all super kind and helpful. They assisted my elderly dad to customize his sandwich and checked on us several times, in a nice and not pushy way. The food was very hot and filling. I will definitely return and kudos to these employees for bringing back great food and customer service. It felt like old times growing up in the 80s/90s with old school hot foods and table service. This was my first time to this particular store, but I've been to Jason's Deli many times before. When I came in, it was raining and cold, so I immediately looked for soup. They have a few, but the spicy seafood gumbo caught my eye. I got a bowl of that, and a strawberry shortcake to take home. The soup was pretty good. I wouldn't call it spicy. The flavor was okay though. It could have had more meat and seafood in it. The strawberry shortcake was pretty good. It's a simple flavor, difficult to mess up. I love Jason's deli. It's a quick bite without feeling like fast food. My go to is the Club Royale. What's not to love? Turkey, ham, Swiss, bacon puked on a fluffy croissant. My visit was at 11:15 am on Saturday June 27th 2026. The dining room tables and chairs were very dirty. The tabletops had residue from previous guests and had not been properly cleaned or wiped down. The dining room floor had clearly not been swept, with various debris visible throughout. i ordered a New York Yankee sand that totaled over $17 after tax. The meat was lukewarm , chewy and stringy and the cheese was not even melted. I was served a disappointingly small portion of potato chips with my sandwich. The restaurant was nearly empty with approximately 6-8 customers total. The restaurant staff well outnumbered guests and for whatever reason the dining room was still not cleaned. I had to wipe off my chair and table mysel. I actually had to look through several d tables to find one that was somewhat clean enough to eat on. I laid napkins out to make due. This was my first visit to this location and very likely my last. I left thinkI g to myself "I wonder what the sanitation score is for this restaurant ??" Definitely not a good first impression. We love the salad bar! Their version of "ice cream" is a little questionable, but no real complaints over something free. So I am new to Jason's deli and obviously late to the party! I will confess I went there last week with a party of 9 and totally forgot to take pictures. I went back today with my mother in law and almost forgot again. I was so ready to dig in. I was never a fan because I thought it was too expensive for a deli sandwich, soup or salad bar but lately with the cost of everything going up, it is really comparable to anywhere. And super fresh! On the first visit my husband ordered the seafood gumbo. My thoughts were .. you are really going to order gumbo from a deli in Greensboro! Dang, it was really good. I also sat close to them making the food and was able to see several promising future sandwiches like the French dip (they call it something else) but it looked amazing. My first trip I had 1/2 a Rueben and chicken pot pie soup. This visit I had the New Yorker and broccoli cheddar soup. Both were really good. Stopped in on Sunday around 11:30 am and there was already a decent sized line! It went by fairly fast for how many people were there and our food was served within just a few minutes! We ordered a chicken Caesar salad, a Med bowl, southwest bowl and chicken Cobb salad. All were excellent!! I'm surprised at the lack of great reviews because everything was perfect! The person delivering food to the tables was personable and they were quick to go around and clean tables too! I was in the mood again for a big salad from Jason's salad bar. I put everything on it except "the kitchen sink." The salad bar was clean, all stocked up and just waiting for me. I also went for the mini corn muffins, crackers, croutons, etc. I basically had a salad party. When I finished the "Mount Vesuvius" of salads, I went for a complimentary cone of soft serve ice cream! Ah, a perfect ending. I chose ranch for my salad, but for some reason it did not have enough flavor for me. I went back and doused my baby with Thousand Island dressing. When we opened the salads 15 minutes after picking them up, the avocado on EACH salad was completely brown, smushed and disgusting. The only reason I go to Jason's Deli is for the fresh salad bar. I am sad that it is only 1 visit. Since that is so, I pile my salad high which makes a mess. As a sandwich, soup place it's okay. The quality of food does not match the purchase price. There are many other sandwich shops around with more flavor and better pricing. The open area looks crowded with all the tables close together. Really close together. I'm not sure what the thought process for that is. Some of you might be die hard fans and that is great for you and Jason's Deli. I was so hungry I didn't take pics (sigh) It's been over 2 and half years since I've eaten here. I was very pleased to see their salad bar is open. All the ingredients were super fresh and oh how I love those little gingerbread muffins they have! The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the dining area was dirty. There were at least 10 tables that weren't bussed. We ate at 5pm and there were staff standing around and no one was cleaning tables. This was unacceptable and may keep me from returning. The place is filthy and the staff over the past year have become progressively less helpful. We were eating outside and the person bussing tables burped loudly then poured chocolate milk for a table he was bussing on the ground next to tables where people were eating. Yesterday afternoon I decided I wanted a Chef's Salad for an early dinner, and headed off the Harris Teeter at Friendly/ What a complete zoo. I guess people had been pinned up by the snow and the store was full with long lines at each register. I didn't feel like fighting thru that mess, so headed across to Jason's. I have eaten the salad bar here a number of times and remembered that they had a Chef's Salad on the menu. Never again. I gave this place way too many chances in the past; we had a few great experiences here years ago and it went completely downhill from there. We came for a late lunch today and the restaurant was pretty much empty; we assumed we would receive great service...we were wrong. Employee at the counter was too busy playing on their phone to acknowledge us so that was the first disappointment. I can't stand it when my intention is to pay good money for something, only to be ignored upon arrival. When we received our food both of my children's meals were incorrect; they both ordered grilled cheese with American cheese on white toast and they both received grilled cheese with cheddar cheese on wheat toast. My daughter ordered a plain baked potato with just butter on the side; she received a baked potato covered in cheese. So now we are eating and my children are not so that was upsetting. Finally my kids received their sandwiches but low & behold, no potato. We waited another few minutes then gave up and asked the manager where her potato was. He proceeded to open up all of the microwaves and there was her potato; sitting in there all shriveled up and cold. It gets worse too, unfortunately. I thought it would be a nice idea to bring home some soup and a salad for later on, something light in case I got hungry. I ordered a small chicken pot pie soup and a chicken BLT salad with ranch. It was my own mistake for not opening up the bag and checking the order because when I got back home (35 minutes away), I opened up the container and was completely baffled as I received some sort of toasted sub sandwich with some cold cuts and lettuce; sadly (and obviously) that mess was not my chicken BLT salad. So let's just get the negatives out the way... first off I cannot stand medium well roast beef. I got the beefeater? I think it's called? Good amount of meat, cheese melted nicely, bread toasted well and was actually nice, and the au jus was amazing! But toast beef has to he medium at the VERY LEAST! medium rare is perfect. So dry, practically drank the jus. $11 was a bit high considering you get a bag of chips and for dry beef with no veggies. But thats about on par with most spots. The seafood gumbo was ok... salty, tasted like beef broth with shrimp tossed in. Not gumbo. On the plus side, it was a nice seafood soup. Plenty of shrimp and veggies honestly so that's good for the price of $6/bowl. Let's discuss their hidden gem... kinda close to giving Leblon a run for their money, is their salad bar! $6 to add to a meal is a steal! Used to be AYCE, but now you get a huge bowl to load it up. And let me tell you the options are amazing. In a country where healthy eating is abysmal, this place offers a nice selection for a great price to not feel bad no matter what you order. They don't cheap out and just give you iceberg lettuce for starters, no, you get fresh spring greens or spinach as well! Then you got a great array of peppers like pepperoncini, yellow/red, jalapeno, roasted, e.t.c. croutons, different olives, tomatoes, onions, cheeses, you can even help yourself to a nice hardboiled egg or two, or five... I wanted to get pics of the bar but it would look weird. Plus a huge assortment of dressings to keep it interesting for any age! Go here for the salad bar, it's nice and necessary in this day and age. The staff were great and helpful and assisted me with everything I needed. For my money, there is no reason above any other to come here for a sandwich. If you like their sandwiches here, by all means, come on out... but I find them to be expensive and a bit lacking. I come here for one reason alone... to load up on veggies at the salad bar, which is something that is only done few and far between in this town. Their salad bar is packed with a large variety of veggies, a few variants of cold salads like potato and pasta, some little muffins which are pretty tasty, and a general plethora of stuff to load into a bowl. The only thing you wont find is meat, which is an extra you have to pay for at the time of ordering. You can get some protein without it, there is cheese, eggs, and real bacon bits available... but you wont even find ham on the bar, which I think kind of sucks. So, if you needed to get some fiber in your life, and maybe a free ice cream cone (maybe the best business concept ever)... come to Jason's deli. If not... well... don't. P.S. This place is best experienced on a day where you can sit outside if they are busy. If you sit inside during peak lunch hours, I hope you enjoy eating on top of other people.
