They have some delicious desserts and I vaguely remember them from the few times I tried them, but I try to eat both halves of the sandwich and that's it, can't eat another bite. The service is always great, the people are well trained and are pleasant to deal with. Ambiance, what ambiance? It's a great place to go get your sandwich and we take it home to eat and watch TV. The one time we ate there, it took away from the glorious experience of eating that mouth watering goodness. There were other distracting people around us and keeping me from concentrating on my sandwich!

The cashier said it was their busiest time. We lucked into finding a table to enjoy our food. It is like a busy deli in NYC. The Reuben was fantastic. My wife got the cheesesteak. They grill the meat and make the sandwiches right in front of you so they are hot and fresh. My wife's cheesesteak was ok. Seemed kind of dry and didn't have any peppers and not too many onions. Maybe that's the NYC way and not Philly. Anyway I love the place. We will definitely be back to try their bagels and other sandwiches. Oh yeah. I also got a Dublin soda. It's a craft soda (Coke) made with pure cane sugar. Goood.

My niece wanted the chocolatey-est dessert on the menu so our awesome waiter (a very personable and kind guy) recommended a multi-layered chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and we decided to have it a la mode. He asked if we wanted it hot or warm. We ordered it warm and in hindsight we wish we'd ordered it hot but it was still perfect for a chocolate fix. He even brought out a candle for the cake when he found out her birthday was coming up the following week. I also ordered a cheesecake and we shared each other's desserts. Needless to say we had plenty to take home and we thoroughly enjoyed it the following day as well and at a hotter temperature that was perfect with soft serve ice cream.

There is a dine in option however the place is relatively small and they have quite a busy "To Go" service so it is akin the having a meal along a busy sidewalk. Please don't misunderstand, if your option is to consume your meal in a facility or in your car it is likely more convenient but that ends the contrast. Because it is o "To Go" oriented for instance if you order gumbo (which I did) you will be given a small plastic spoon and salad (which I ordered) will be segregated (Like olives grouped together, feta grouped etc. ) in a container "To Go" container making it impossible to 'toss' without making a mess or using your hands. Let's address food which I have mentioned. Gumbo is akin to a Manhattan style fish chowder, not objectionable however not gumbo. The Greek Salad I gave already described with the addition of the fact that my dressing had solidified. When I pointed it out to the folks taking orders it was replaced however in this respect I'm glad I ate in...without a microwave it would not have liquified. Look, I am not an idealist, This is a sandwich "To Go" place I don't fault the owners at trying to make every square inch of a rental place earn money however the 'dine in' option is a convenience not an ambience. The 'gumbo' was not and the salad was a generous portion of lettuce, fresh vegetables, adequate feta however the initial dressing and the serving container for 'eat in' was disappointing. Next time I will order a sandwich which is a Deli goal.

Again, another outstanding meal. There were so many delicious items to choose from on their menu we can't wait to return to try their breakfast selection, their dinner/main features and some of their fabulous looking deserts. Katz Deli looks to us to be a Jewish style deli with a touch of Texas/Southern/Cajun flavor. Katz is a small chain in the Houston area and I tend to avoid chain restaurants, but Katz Deli got it right and we are eagerly awaiting our next visit.

So you know I had to try it. Honestly the food and service were both good. I think chick fil a is still better but I can see why it made it to the top. Got the #13 Italian on their famous rosemary bread. They don't really toast here but they can grill if you want. Takes about 4-5 minutes and they'll need to add Mayo to get a decent sear. I didn't bother because no toaster obviously means they don't really do that. But it's nice that they'll accommodate if you want a grilled bun. They don't have many toppings. Just lettuce tomatoes and onions. I got my 6" "Mike's Way" which includes all of these plus olive oil and some spices (probably oregano and basil but I'm not sure). Good location for an easy pop but traffic can get congested in this part of Sawdust at times. Staff was nice which always makes for a positive experience. They have a rewards club too if you go often enough. Also got some cookies. By volume the big cookie pack and the mini cookies are equal. Price is $4 and change.
