The lady taking my order was very kind and helpful when I couldn't decide what to pick but thankfully we made the right choice! I ordered the Spicy Turkey Melt paired with their Pecanberry Salad. When you go to McAlister's you gotta get a tea and their cookies were a pleasant treat. There was plenty of seating available so it wouldn't be a hassle to seat a large group there. 2 Star experience at a 5 star location. I don't know who the new lady behind the counter was today but GOD FORBID! I interrupt her conversation. She just seemed upset that a customer walked in and wanted to order. It was upsetting cause I love this location most of the staff has known me by name and/or knows my order and I absolutely love and appreciate them for it. Tara! You the best! But this new girl I never met before, When I asked "can I give you my number so I get the reward points?" She replied with "sure I guess" with zero smile. I've never seen this lady before but I was polite and ordered my usual and even went slow as to not talk to fast and it just all seemed like I was such an inconvenience for her. To her credit she brought my food to the table where I was sitting but Then when I asked "could I get a side of honey mustard" she said "yeah" and then huffed and walked backed and grabbed it and turned around smacked it on the counter. No smile the whole time, no "thank you for coming" or any kind of pleasant welcoming that Im used to here. Even when she was taking my order initially she just seemed annoyed to be there and looked at me like I was an issue before I even said a word. Just made me feel super unwelcome Maybe she's having a bad day but still it came off as rude. Whatever is going on I hope she cheers up and learns to smile and spread joy to the other guests. Service is absolutely amazing. Dawn was the wonderful person behind the counter explaining the menu and telling us all the good things as we had never been here before. I had the McAlister club on a baguette and my wife ordered the honey bbq spud. Kisha was the person who brought out our food and said she made it with love bc we have never been here before and wanted it to be extra delicious. Both were so good and fulfilling. I came in at 11:30 on a Thursday for lunch. The staff was friendly and the dining area was very clean. I got the 6" Spicy Turkey Melt with a Ceasar salad. The salad had a little too much dressing and the anchovies were a little overpowering. The sandwich was great. I ordered it with no bacon which I'm sure would give it extra flavor (saving fat grams ). I'll have to go back to this place to see if it deserves more than 3 stars...but as the sayings go...initial impressions are lasting impressions. I simply wanted nachos. I ended up talking about it so much, my wife wanted some as well. Looking at the price of them, may as well get all the bells and whistles variety...I even asked for extra cheese. The good: they are big enough to share. The bad: nothing about thy nachos really blew my away...I actually barely felt the air on me at all b The ugly: the cooks have to be consistent in preparation. Our food should mirror each other. Y'all forgot her avocados and y'all forgot my sour cream. I truly believe extra cheese was not put on either of our dishes. It was a common food chain experience. Rarely will I give a deli a five-star, but in this case the young lady working the register, EMMA, knew the menu so well, assisted in our order as I'll detail, and was so personably, that the store earned it, when coupled with the delicious food. We looked at the menu beforehand and both of us wanted the Savannah Salad and the Ruben sandwich. Our plan was to split both and then eat half each. The downside was that it isn't easy to split a salad equally. When I asked the counter girl EMMA for an extra plate to split the salad, she suggested that we each instead get the "choose two" which would give us individual salads of our choice and individual sandwiches, for about the same price. This was much better, and good thinking on her part. Thanks Emma! The Savannah Salad has a good amount of grilled chicken, cranberries, cheese, almonds, tomatoes, and all kinds of greens. The Ruben sandwich was served properly warmed, with the right amount of sour-kraut, Swiss, and a decent portion of corned beef. The only downside is that there is not a close location to the inner city, but when in Spring, we'll stop back here. She got the order wrong and charged me for two sandwiches and basically doubled my order. So when the order came out I had two orders. No wonder the total was so high! My husband and I ordered our food but when it came, the bread on my sandwich was stale, his broccoli had brown spots all over it, and when we asked for a better serving of broccoli, they brought the same nasty pieces. I have lowered my rating because of the customer service, the plates, and the lack of freshness with my salad. As I have mentioned before, we come to this location often, but I feel like it's going down as a whole. The plates that are used are so old and stained, it's time to invest in new plates and flatware. The current ones look so old and dingy. Also- the customer service was subpar due to a woman who was very dismissive about my husband being charged extra for chips he did not order. She said "oh that happens sometimes, it's okay." And then started to compliment our daughter as if our concern was not important. Also- my Savannah Chopped Salad was not fresh. The lettuce was a little limp and lacked when it came to being crisp and crunchy. I did not even both finishing it. We will give this location one more chance....maybe. I love McAlister's Deli! However, the employees at this location have a pretty bad customer service. Our experience should be less than a star rating. But I put one star because their food is consistent with all the other branch. The employee is rude, non-productive, and unprofessional. There are only 1 to 3 customers in line and at least 3 cashiers standing there chit chatting instead of taking orders. When we asked questions regarding the food in the menu, they didn't want to answer and gave us an attitude because we interrupted their personal conversation with each other. They didn't use the basic gesture of "thank you, no mam', yes sir". I do understand we all are wearing mask, I don't expect to see anyone's smile. But we can still sense the attitude through the employees' speech and tones are not welcoming. We took a chance and placed an order via DoorDash to our office. Our order includes the Ultimate Nachos. When the order arrived I discovered that the key ingredient was missing for our Ultimate Nachos. This is a minor problem which could easily been corrected. Unfortunately McAlister's has invested in an answering service that is completely disconnected and has zero to offer when a customer has an issue. I was transferred three times to the restaurant directly, however, not one person answered my call. I finally left a message with their service. Completely frustrated. A very simple fix yet I'm unable to speak to anyone qualified to either bring me the missing cheese or refund the cheeseless Nachos. We will not be placing future orders. read more
