I always get a Travolta, a tuna fish - egg salad combo with lots of mayo on the bread. There are many other options and I always think of trying them but that Travolta sings to me and it's the one that goes home with me. They have some delicious desserts and I vaguely remember them from the few times I tried them, but I try to eat both halves of the sandwich and that's it, can't eat another bite. The service is always great, the people are well trained and are pleasant to deal with. Ambiance, what ambiance? It's a great place to go get your sandwich and we take it home to eat and watch TV. The one time we ate there, it took away from the glorious experience of eating that mouth watering goodness. Sometimes you just wonder if a place is going to live up to the hype and you sometimes find yourself surprised to know that it very much so does. For a place that has been voted the #1 restaurant in America before, it was a lovely experience! This location is a little over 30 mins away from me, which is beyond the distance I'm willing to drive for a meal in the middle of the week, but as it was my birthday week I decided to treat myself. And I am so glad that I did. I can say that everything about the experience eating here was pleasant. For one the fact that I arrived here after 7pm and they close at 8pm, yet there was a steady influx of customers speaks to just how popular they are. There was one person in line behind me and I felt bad for them a little because I knew I was going to ask a bunch of questions because I've been looking forward to coming here and it is out the way so I was going to ask the right questions to make sure I got something I liked. With that being said, the man taking my order was very helpful and patient. I know I took at least 5 mins to order yet he was cool answering all of the questions I had. I generally hate when the kiosk asks if I'd like to tip when I'm not dealing with a waiter but the service he provided paired with the amount of questions I had led me to leave a tip. Again I had to drive a distance to eat here so I went in knowing that I was going to be ordering food to eat there as well as being able to bring some home, because there is no telling when the next time will be that I want to make the trek. To keep things balanced, I ordered a cold and a hot sandwich. I went with a build your own for the cold sandwich and went with turkey and roast beef for meats, deli provolone for cheese, spring lettuce, roasted red peppers, red onion, olive smear and house marinated pepper blend for toppings, sub oil, spicy deli mustard and basil pesto (on the side) for extras, all on a crusty Italian roll for the bread. For the hot sandwich I went with the chicken parm and added light red onions to it. I also made my first sandwich a combo with chips and a drink. They serve Pepsi products for the fountain drinks and Zapp's products for the chips. One pet peeve I do have with places is that when I order an additional meat and don't feel like I got extra but instead just less of my other meat to make up for my extra. That is how I feel about the pastrami that I had added to my cold sandwich. Both sandwiches were really good. I wouldn't say that they were the best sandwiches I've ever had but they were solid. The cold sandwich was my creation so take that as you will. The flavors on it was all good, but nothing shooting over the moon to me. All of the food on the sandwich looked and tasted fresh. The hot sandwich is one of theirs with a slight add from me and it again was good but the flavor didn't just jump out for me. Making a chicken parm exceptional takes some work so I'm not mad at what they serve and it is cooked and served with an excellent broil on it. The bread on both sandwiches I will say was a stand out because it held up and had a good crust and chew while still being soft. I will say that I wasn't able to try many of their menu favorites because I don't eat pork, so some of those may be even more delicious. No complaints on any of the flavor but wouldn't have been made at a few more unctuous notes to the palate. I also got the cannoli which was cool. Nothing significant but I'm not mad that I got it. I would also like to note that the bathroom is kept very nice and smells well. I'm 90% sure that someone was blowing up the toilet before I went in yet it didn't stink when I went in. Not sure if they just sprayed a lot or the upkeep but either way kudos. I generally would've gotten food like this to go, but given the distance and that I wanted to get as fresh of a food experience as I can I did dine in. Getting there at the end of the day I was there as they were closing up. As they closed up the staff kept a respectable distance from me as I ate as to not disturb my food with the cleaning. Now that I've eaten here I can honestly say that I get why it has so much hype. Though I wasn't wowed by the food I was wowed by the service and the food was delicious. I'm not sure of when I'll next make the trip here but I do know that I'll feel confident that it will be a meal well enjoyed when I do. Thought I posted this review lol so I'll add to it since I returned again. Again great service and delicious food. The food here is so good and the location is so out of the way that both times I've gone I've left with 2 sandwiches for myself. Run, don't walk to this deli shop. The sandwiches are so packed with flavor and filling. True care put into each product that they make. I was recommended the turkey melt from an employee and let me tell you, it's amazing. I've also sampled the meatball and the chicken parmigiana sandwich. All excellent choices! It's counter service, and always quick when I go. Lines can get long at peak hours. Not a ton of tables so you may wait a minute or two for a table to open up. Super casual. Super food. Solid price. I totally get the hype about this place! If I lived nearby, you can bet I'd work my way through their whole menu. There's just something different about this style of sandwich. I've had sandwiches in NYC and Boston, but Tony's were definitely better! The menu is overwhelming because so much sounds good, so we went with two 7 inch sandwiches to split--one hot and one cold. Although a helpful tip from the cashier is that you can order any cold sandwich hot. We had the Lucky Luciano (hot) and the Sophia (cold). Both were really good--it was hard to choose between the two. But if I'm being honest, that cold sandwich was reminiscent of subs I loved in the early 2000s from places that no longer exist...with that super thinly sliced turkey, thick slice of Swiss cheese, and basil mayo--it really hit the spot. We also had a cannolo--not as good as others I've had. The bottled root beer was delightful. The Lucky Luciano was the kind of sandwich I came here for, and don't get me wrong, it is deliciously cheesy and will make your hands messy. But the Sophia is the kind of sandwich I'll be craving. The food came out fast, considering there was a crowd of people. The line moved very quickly, the restaurant was clean with. The amount of food that came out was significant, the bread was pretty much a foot-long and yes, indeed very crusty! The chicken Parm was very hot and the melted cheese put the flavor over the top. The turkey melt in my opinion was slightly better as it was my preference of what I ordered. I visited this new Tony's a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch. I was excited to see this new outpost of Tony's because I have dined at the original up in Montgomery County near Lake Conroe. That was a 5 star visit. I ordered the DiCaprio cold sandwich which is their chicken salad sandwich that also comes with cranberry pecans, cheese and bacon. With chips and a fountain drink and tax my bill was $16.50. A real deal. The meal was ready in about 10 minutes. The chicken salad here is simply the best. Extremely flavorful with the creamy chicken salad mixed with cranberry pecans. Yes you can taste it. Add to it the bacon and cheese and absolutely delicious bread together makes for the perfect sandwich. From a taste perspective, this is as good as it gets. Price wise it is a value for what you get both in quality and quantity. This outpost is about 20 miles south of the original and the folks of Tomball are lucky to have it. My only ask for Tony's is how about bringing the next one another 15-20 miles further south for Houston's sake? This place totally blew me away! I don't always have high expectations when going to a deli--how high can the ceiling for sandwiches really be? Well, I can confidently say: very high. My partner and I ordered The Martin and The Stallone, both toasted, to share. Both of these sandwiches were incredible. Truly some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. They were rich, flavorful, and packed with high quality ingredients. While The Stallone is arguably their most revered menu item, I think I actually enjoyed The Martin even more. While I did love The Stallone, it was almost *too* rich and salty. The Martin felt more balanced, like I could just keep eating it and not get sick. But it still held the same complex flavors. I also think a standout part of the sandwiches was the bread itself--fluffy on the inside, toasted to perfection, and sprinkled with oil and parmesan. I've heard Tony's described as one of the best sandwiches in the country, & they really do live up to their reputation! I was not prepared for how much flavor explodes out of their sandwiches. They are super generous with the oils and seasoning- in a good way. I've tried a few different options and my favorite is the Stallone, their Italian sandwich. It's offered under the Cold Sandwich section, but you can request for any of their sandwiches to come toasted, which I highly recommend. Their usual 12" size is extremely filling for most people. Their sandwiches keep really well and I prefer to just save half of a 12" for later instead of sizing down to a 7".. all the oil and seasonings make it taste even better later in the day, as long as you store the leftovers safely. Service is consistently friendly and helpful, even though the food can take some time to come out. It's a pretty popular spot so the line can get a little long and the seating a little full, but nothing overwhelming. I tried Tony's in Magnolia years ago when Yelp put them on everyone's radar for being #1 in sandwiches, and I remember they were amazing but that drive was just too much to justify going out there, and I kind of forgot about them. It's funny because the pictures in their menu look so good, but once you get your order, you realize those pictures don't even do the sandwiches justice. Here's what we had: Minnelli sandwich on crusty sub bread- 5/5 fantastic flavors and freshness. It comes on a sub roll but next time I want to try it on the marble rye. Chicken parm sandwich - 5/5 so saucy and delicious. Nothing is overly seasoned so the freshness of it all shines through. Carrot cake - 3/5 not bad but I've had better. I could taste the refrigerator flavor so that part bothered me. I wouldn't get this again. Cream Puffs - 5/5 but I wouldn't order this one again either. The cream puffs are fantastic, but you only get 5 little puffs for almost five dollars. It's just not worth the money. Side note: the menu listed eclairs but the guy who took our order, Slim, said they don't sell that anymore. Slim, btw, was super nice and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is professional and courteous, and for the price you simply will not find a better Italian sandwich anywhere in the area. We ordered The Stallone and The Rocky, and both were fantastic with their own unique flavors. Each sandwich was made with generous amounts of gourmet meats, and the bread was fresh, airy, and perfectly crispy. The red peppers on The Rocky were especially delicious, and the combination of meats and pesto on The Stallone was amazing. Both sandwiches were drizzled with olive oil and red wine vinegar, which absolutely put them over the top, the kind of touch you'd expect from a genuine Italian restaurant. The value is outstanding! For only about $17 per person for a 12 inch sandwich, bag of chips, and bottomless fountain soda. The dining area was kept continuously clean, the staff was friendly and professional, and while there were steady crowds, it never felt overwhelming. This place has been on my list to check for for over a year and I finally made the trek out here last week! I got a bunch of sandwiches to try with the family- Meatballs, Stallone, Danza and Davinci. The Stallone was by far my favorite but the others were solid as well. All the sandwiches are well made, very generous with the fillings. The store was a little crowded when I went, and there wasn't a single table free, but that was fine since I was taking mine to go. Had a bit of a wait time to get the food, due to their popularity I'm sure, but just bring a friend to chat with an you'll have a blast looking at all the drawings made by customers taped to the walls. As for sandwiches, we got half egg salad and half tuna salad, as well as the beef melt. Everything was very good and the bread was super toasted and crispy. The tuna salad was heavy on the tuna which I am personally not a huge fan of. I got tired of this sandwich a few bites in. Oh yes! The hype is real! This place lives up to its name. The sandwiches are to die for. I really like a good sandwich and this place is it. Went for lunch, greeted as I walked in, wasn't one of those over the top greets, it was pleasant. Ordered the small meatball sub combo with chips and a fountain drink. This place is super popular and I can see people really enjoying it or not really caring for it depending on their tastes. For me, it didn't really fit my palette and so I didn't really love the sandwich. I ordered the da vinci and, overall, I just found their sandwiches to be a bit too heavy, a little bit greasy, and perfectly overwhelming, despite my sandwich being mostly greens. I've been avoiding the Spring location of Tony's, going out of my way to comfort an irrational fear that somehow this location would differ from the Conroe location. I must be boo boo the fool, because the only differences are the drive thru addition and the fact that it's easier to find parking at this location. This was bitter sweet. I thought the drive was going to be all worth it but it was just another social media hype. I would say the food was good but nothing to be crazy about. I know I shouldn't judge by the pics but the sandwiches did not look anything like in the menu. You think you are going to get meat from beginning to end bite but that's not the case. The service was average, not too friendly at the counter it was more like pay and go. The deli itself had enough sitting inside and outside. The sandwich had good flavor and although the bread is very fresh, there is a good 3 inches of just bread left on each end. The balsamic glaze was on point. Not terrible but certainly not the best. Drove an hour to try out Tony's Deli. Between being number one on Yelp and the social media mentions, it was hard not to resist their reputation and I love me a good hoagie. The menu looks great with awesome combinations. Walking in, I was happy to see a decent seating area but most of the empty tables were riddled with crumbs from the last patrons. We looked over the menu and placed our order. I originally chose the voodoo chips but was handed spicy crawfish. I had to hand them back before the hostess explained they were out of voodoo chips. It would have been nice to know that and so I could choose a different flavor instead of being given a flavor I don't like. So I went with salt and vinegar. I ordered the Sinatra but I'm pretty sure there was only salami (no sopressata) in the sandwich bc it was definitely lacking in meat. The bread definitely overpowered the sandwich. Don't get me wrong, The bread was great - soft with a nice bounce. But overall disappointing considering all the amazing reviews. Not a fan of how they "roll" the meat either. Before we left I went back to order the sweets on the menu but they no longer sell eclairs. I think they would really benefit from updating their menu. Their original location in Montgomery had won #1 rated restaurant in the nation by Yelp back in 2018. They also have a location in Katy. This place was packed, the parking lot was full of cars and there were plenty of people waiting for their sandwiches already when I got there. They are known for their cold and baked carnegies, the most popular one being the Stallone. I decided to try the Sinatra, which is somewhat similar. It's stuffed with sopressata, Genoa salami, fresh mozzarella balls, marinated Roma tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, basil pesto, and sub oil on a crusty Italian roll. They are somewhat pricy for a sandwich but they are known for their high quality ingredients. Their sub is also very very big, it's about the size of my forearm and hand combined. The bread was soft and bouncy. The tomatoes, mozzarella ball, and pesto give the sandwich a really fresh taste. Definitely makes it taste healthier. The sub oil gives the sandwich a fragrant smell and definitely enhances the flavor. If you like a good, fresh, and large high quality sandwich then this is for you. If you care more about the meats then I would suggest ordering the Stallone instead. read more

Delicious!! My husband and I were looking for a quick dinner spot while we were near The Woodlands. I had saved this restaurant on my "must try list" and I'm so glad I did! It wasn't crowded inside, and it was quick ordering at the counter. The only slight negative was the Christmas music they had playing was very loud. About half way through they finally turned it down quieter. The staff were friendly and explained their menu well. It's not overwhelming, but there are a lot of choices. My husband ordered the meatball and I went with the cashiers recommendation of the Stallone warmed. The portions are HUGE!!!! You could eat half a sandwich and save the rest for later. Everything was yummy and I'm so glad we tried this place out. I really wish we lived closer so we could enjoy this more often. read more
