#13 Mike's Original. Done Mike's way with extra banana peppers. Now that's an East Coast Sub. Not to be confused with a sandwich. The service was quick. Our work crew ordered the same Sub. They made 6 of them. When I got there they were ready to go. Glad I ordered on the App. Because after I pulled in, so did everyone else. The place was packed as soon as they opened the doors. One complaint: stop trying to force customers into adding TIPS instead of you paying your employees for their work. I buy less often as I resent this register coercion. My husband loves this place. When he is in the area, he enjoys catching lunch there. He has brought a "regular" sub home to split a couple times. I picked up a "Regular" turkey provolone sub for him Saturday when a family relative was in the ER at St. Joseph Medical Center and neither of us had any lunch by 5:00pm. It was so good! The crew of 3 worked very fast and very hard when they were super busy on a holiday weekend. Impressed with their service!!! I expected a wait, because people were also arriving to pick up phone or app orders. I was super impressed with the quality of the turkey and provolone sub, with ample lettuce, very large tomato slices, and jalapeño slices. I am not one to order turkey deli sandwiches, because I prefer beef or ham, but this deli turkey is very flavorful. And the quantity is very good. My experience is that sub places skimp badly on the meat. Other places, subs are all bun. Jersey Mike's stands out in the mix. read more

Went in and ordered 2 sandwiches. I always get a number 11 (no longer on the menu) roast beef and pepperoni. Ordered my husband a #2- ham and capicola because he loves capicola. I got home and my number 11 was ham and salami. My husband's 2 was just ham. If you can't make sandwiches correctly, you are sunk. I now know why they want to check you out so quickly! First tried this chain in the DC airport and it was great! This experience? Not so much. Ordered quickly, then waited 20 minutes for a hot sub. One guy cooking in a back room, 4 others standing around. The sub was 50% bread, 30% toppings, maybe 20% meat - nothing like I was expecting for the price. Semi-warm and included the toppings I requested be skipped (jalapeños). I did like the Parmesan-rosemary bread option. If you're looking for a quick cold sub then this could be a good choice for you. read more

Very good sandwiches and the service is usually good. Last night was a bit of an exception, as one girl was a little curt and they seemed to be having trouble comprehending instructions. They made two errors on my order, but fortunately they were recoverable.They are clearly having trouble with the staffing shortage and the stress showed through. But one key thing I absolutely did not like. None of the staff were wearing masks!! Seriously? While preparing food?? And they're talking while doing it. This location is usually pretty solid, but has been struggling lately. In a lot of cases it's little things...like if someone orders a Club, why do we then need to request bacon? It comes on the sandwich, how does it become a request? Also, good luck if using the app. This weekend I ordered 4 sandwiches. 3 of them were incorrect ranging from no bacon on the Club (surprise!),to no mayo on 2 sandwiches. My buddy and I really wanted JM's but I have a picky 5 year old. They were so overly kind and helpful with creating a grilled cheese just for her. They didn't even act as if it was a big deal and did it with a smile and a kind attitude. They went above and beyond and never felt put out. They were warm and gracious. I went to the location in south bend near the mall and oh my... let's start with the dirty look I got when I entered the door I got threw the line which took a very long time.. and the lady making my sub was an absolute nightmare.. Not only was there no space for the subs on the counter so they were touching I was not aware that red wine vinegar was a thing so when I asked for vinaigrette and it was pink I asked about it she got a very nasty attitude with me and said it's fine would NOT even tell me what was in it she just said it's vinegar the costumer behind me had to tell me it was red wine . I used to come here about once a year and it was always fantastic. Sadly, my most recent experience was terrible and I probably won't be coming back. I pull up and see a sign on the window that due to the pandemic, all orders must be placed online or through the app. No big deal. I pull out my phone, navigate to the website, select my sub and chips, and in the drop-down menu for pickup time select "ASAP (15 m after ordering)". It didn't seem like a big deal to sit in the car for 15 minutes so it seemed like a good idea. However, upon paying and confirming the order, the confirmation screen says that it's going to be a 45 minute wait! Attached is a pic of the "Pickup Time" selector so you can see what I am talking about. Because of the discrepancy, I call the store and the person who picked up the phone said that the 45 minute quote was accurate but that "it might be ready early." So I wait in the car, at 30 minutes I go in to check the situation and there are numerous people standing around a table where the employees of the shop are setting orders once they are ready. The name is written on the receipt so we can tell which order belongs to which person. All of these people standing around, and the employees aren't even calling out the names as they set down the subs. That means when a sandwich is ready, you have to walk up to the table, look at the sub then walk back to your spot. This is all extremely difficult to do while respecting the current social distancing guidelines. So, I check to see if my order is ready - nope. Then I go back in sit in the car because there are way too many people in this place to be 6 feet away from everyone else. After waiting 5 minutes, I go back in but see the exact same thing. This continues up until minute 45 at which point I decide I will wait in the lobby since my food should be ready any minute. While standing there waiting, I overhear a conversation where one woman is asking how to get a refund because she accidentally placed her order at a franchise in Ohio. The employee behind the counter is dismissive of the request and tells the woman she will have to call corporate on Monday (this was a Saturday) to get a refund. The two employees working at this point are moving comically slow. Like, you would not believe it if you saw it - incredibly slow. At this point a third employee walks in carrying a pizza. I had seen her leave earlier from the car, now we know why. Based on how busy they are, it probably would have made sense to get that pizza delivered. After standing around for yet another 10 minutes, walking up, checking the name on a bag, walking back to my spot, ad infinitum, my order finally shows up. Thank god! Upon getting home and eating the sandwich, it was good but I just don't understand why a sandwich takes 55 minutes to make. It's not like they are somehow getting more business due to the pandemic. When you go in and stand in line it only takes about 5 minutes. How is this any different? I think the answer to this question is that the employees looked like they didn't care one bit. Pure apathy. A slow logistical nightmare. When people move that slowly and with such an inefficient workflow, it is inevitable that there will be a customer backup. Again - 55 minutes for a cold sandwich. After being quoted 15 minutes on the online ordering site. It was a very disappointing experience. read more

For a chain, this has to be the best sub place around. They carry meats that the other chains don't, such as capicola and prosciutto. (Question to other restaurants that serve sandwiches: how can you make "authentic" Italian sandwiches and not have proscuitto as an option?) The ingredients at JM's are top notch and the service is fast and friendly. Sure, the prices are higher than other places, but they are way better than Subway and Quizno's. read more

But lately they've been getting on my nerves and rather difficult to do business with. The hours on the website are not accurate, and they change the closing time without any updates. Ordered a #6 in a wrap with banana peppers and mayo, another #6 as a Tub & two #2s with no tomatoes but with mayo and mustard from their online app at 11:15am for a 12:00 pick-up at the store. Arrived home with two regular #6 subs with no condiments and two #2 regular subs with no condiments. What is the point of spending nearly $22 on subs supposedly they way you want them only to get what the crew behind the counter decides to make? And this isn't the first time this has happened. As a general rule, I'm predisposed not to support anything from Jersey, mainly to protest against those stupid clowns on MTV. I'm also predisposed to hate chain restaurants. Needless to say, I'm shocked at how much I like Jersey Mikes Sub's. It's freakin' delicious, and here's why: --The bread is FRESH and delicious. As far as I'm concerned, the bread is the most important part of a good sandwich. This bread is solid, get it white or wheat, doesn't really matter. --The meat and cheese is HIGH quality. AND, to top it off, they slice everything fresh to order on their in store meat slicer. Now this may just be a gimmick, and the quality of meat freshly sliced may not be that much better than the pre-sliced stuff sitting around in square tins, but it has sold me. Not only that, but they have a diverse selection of meats that you won't find at other sandwich chains. --Mike's Way is PERFECT. Just tell the sandwich maker that you want it Mike's Way and you'll be happy. Throw in a little brown mustard on top and you'll have yourself a perfectly topped sandwich. They have hot sandwiches as well, but I can never resist the cold cut sandwiches (probable because of the "not-so" stupid freshly sliced gimmick). Try the #13--it's the best sandwich that I've had. The #5 is also solid (and $1 cheaper), but the #13 will be worth every penny of that extra dollar. I have lived in and around Mishawaka my entire life (36 years). I have to say that I always drove past Jersey Mikes and never stopped until a friend that lived in the apartment complex next door suggested it for lunch. Since then my wife and I go at least twice a month. Try the Italian or the Philly cheese steak. They are both incredible. read more

This place is killer. At 6 foot 250 I get that GIANT chicken bacon ranch or the pastrami Rueben to feed the hunger. Probably my favorite sub shop. Really hot blonde chick that works there too.
