Ordered two subs. BOTH Subs that were given to me to go were wrong. Ok clearly a mistake however the disappointing part is in order to get a refund they told me I had to come back and bring the sandwiches back. Wouldn't be a problem except that I live about 35 minutes from this location and I am rarely out that way. So the moral of the story for this company is 'if we make a mistake customer gets punished and we expect them to drive back and waste more time and gas'. One of my serious guilty pleasures. I choose this place over the overrated chipotle or awful Subway. Yep I get the big honking sub on a Sunday and graze on it all day. Generally the Club and get it "Mikes way" but no oil. Staff is friendly and place is clean. Kinda reminds me of Blimpie which I loved. They also have an app and free club card. The service is friendly and patient (while I wait to figure out what to order). They cut the meat and make your sandwich fresh as you order, unlike other places that have the entire inside of your sub already portioned out and pre-wrapped in paper/plastic. First time I had Jersey Mikes was in Myrtle Beach. I thought I discovered some kind of local awesomeness. Veggies that were shredded/sliced appropriately thin, but generously dolled out. Meat that is sliced for each individual sub. When I came back to Ohio, I found out its a chain, and I wanted to see if I had just lucked out, or if it's a real deal great sub. Well it still is a great sub, and I did luck out finding this place! They slice your meat to order at every location, the bread is great, and although it's a bit more expensive than most sandwich shops, that's because it's better than most sandwich shops. The online menu does not offer their cheesesteak, but they make them, and they are also awesome! read more

Way back when I was in the USN and stationed in Newport R.I. I used to get these really fabulous subs (they called them grinders). Those grinders are the standard by which all sandwiches have been measured since. I've been searching for a decent sub shop in this area; however all there seems to be are the ubiquitous (and sub-standard) Subways and similar blah spots. Since nothing beats old memories, I'm only giving Mike's four stars, but really this place is hard to beat! There's another chain I like as well, but it's too far to go just to get a sandwich. I got a super sub and my daughter got an Italian. both came with a generous portion of very fresh meat and we both got them dressed "Mike's Way" with added jalapenos. This was the most bizarre experience I have ever had a food establishment. It started off fine, but took a weird turn. We walked into the Jersey Mike's at Westgate shopping center in Rocky River, expecting to be able to eat inside of the building. About half of the chairs were down and the other half were up on the table, making it look like they were about to close up, even though it was only 6 and it closed at 9. There were no signs that said takeout only, or dining room closed. We ordered our sandwiches and drinks, then sat down and began eating. We sat there for about 15 minutes eating without anyone telling us that we weren't allowed to be eating in there. One of the employees walks out from the back and begins putting the chairs up onto the table. He put up all of the chairs except the ones that we were sitting in. When he was putting the last chair up, he turned around and yelled at me and my friend for putting the chair down. He told us, "The chairs were up for a reason, you shouldn't have taken them down." I responded with, "We didn't. They were already down when we walked in." He tells us that they shouldn't have been. He put the last chair up very aggressively, causing himself to knock a picture off the wall and knock down multiple other chairs. He immediately runs into the bathroom and sits in there for 10 minutes. When he comes out of the bathroom he doesn't say anything to us and he returns to the back of the kitchen. About another 10 minutes go by and he runs out of the back of the kitchen and screams at us, "IT'S TIME FOR YOU GUYS TO LEAVE. SHE (referring to one of the workers there) TOLD YOU GUS THAT YOU WEREN'T ALLOWED TO EAT IN HERE AND YOU REFUSED HERE." The lady never told us this and there were no signs posted so my friend and I were standing there confused. He then yells again, "GET OUT NOW!" My friend and I, not trying to cause anymore of a problem than we apparently did, just left the establishment. We felt so embarrassed because the worker caused a scene in front of about 7 other people. One weird part is that we weren't causing any problem in there, we were just eating and being quiet. read more

Tonight's dinner? Chipotle Cheese Steak sub! First time here and I really have nothing bad to say about the place. I liked the flavors and any extra juice was soaked up by the soft bread, but not so much that it fell apart. I took one bite and couldn't stop until it was quickly eaten up! You've seriously got to try out Jersey Mike's Subs! The clearly quality 'cold cut' meats, cheeses and breads are fresh, and sliced directly in front of you. Toppings are plentiful, and they even do fantastic tasting cheesesteaks and wraps. Let me tell you, this place does subs right! There is no reason to do Subway, Quizno's, Jimmy John's, Mr. Hero, or Penn Station anymore (Dave's Cosmic Subs is an exception- they are great as well). This is my go-to place for sandwiches in the Rocky River area. The staff is friendly and attentive as well as nice and quick in the making sandwiches. The sandwiches are better than competitors such as Subway because the ingredients are fresher. I wouldn't even put Subway or Jimmy John's in the same category. I thought the service was great, cashier was helpful and nice. Decided to get a Philly cheesesteak. Made fresh, and cooked to order. Not complaining on the amount of time it took. Decently priced. However, adding mayo to it was a BAD idea. I gotta order to go and went home. By then the mayo was hot (obviously) and had a sour taste. Tried to wipe it off the sub, but there was just way to much on it. After a few bites I just couldn't take it anymore and threw it out. The mayo ruined everything. I think the subs shouldn't be wrapped in tin foil, like the one I got. It just takes the cold toppings put on there and turns them soggy and sour. Not good. read more

This is actually a review for the place in Westlake...I love the subs! I do have to say though, the staff at this particular store is so not friendly! I go in and feel as though they're doing me a favor by waiting on me...ugh! Maybe because I don't tip??? I don't feel it's the type of place that a tip is necessary unless perhaps I was having my sub there, but take out? Sorry...it's no different than any other spot you go to for a quick something on the run. Should we tip at McDonalds too? This industry is all about being able to connect with the public...customer service! If you feel like your owed more than your paycheck, then maybe you're in the wrong biz or perhaps if you'd perform above & beyond, be a standout in performance enough that someone might notice?
