Both employees were extremely rude and did not attempt to help or correct the order. Lady working behind counter looked up and then went back to work. Totally ignored me. I gave the quiet "why am I being rudely ignored, can I get some help" eh-hem. She slightly glanced up as she turned to empty the trap from one of the grill presses. No "Can I help you" or "I'll be with you in a moment". I made another "eh-hem" gesture. She didn't even look my direction, so this time I spoke up and asked if I could get some help. Her response was "Don't be rude!"????? Rude is ignoring customers that are gesturing they need assistance. Manager came over at the moment and asked what was going on. I explained what had just happened, and she angrily shouted that coughing on customer's food was rude and I was the one that needed to speak up. Rude is ignoring a customers repeated attempts when the service provider should be attentive or even proactive when helping customers. Also, I never coughed!!! I explained to the manager that the chip selection was incorrect and the first employee SHOUTED back "we don't have those".... Ok fine... then I started to list the items that were missing from my sandwhich. The manager responded by asking "why would you want those?"... umm... because that's what I ordered and paid extra for!!!! Then he stood and just stared at me with a blank stare... there was no "can I see the incorrectly made sandwhich", no "can we correctly make you another", no "can we get those missing items for you so YOU can put them on your sandwhich". My response was "Nevermind, I told you the issues, and neither of you are even making an attempt to remedy the mistakes you made preparing my order". Never coming back. I went in on this birthday gift that came to my job email, but when I looked on my phone, the birthday gift wasn't in my app. But she didn't hesitate the moment she just said I'll make it. The subs are really tasty and toasted, and they have different selections like brisket, barbecue beef, Jamaican jerk turkey, etc. much better than cold lunch meats that subway offers. It's hard to review the food here, when all I can think about is how dirty it always is. This is third time now my husband and I have stopped in for lunch and the staff is in the back chatting and every table in the place is filthy. I literally bring out my own sanitizing wipes to clean a table for us. On today's occasion I didn't even want to use the coke freestyle machine it was so dirty and sticky from the screen down. And my final gross out is when the staff makes sandwiches and clearly never takes off or changes their gloves. The sandwich boxes and bag are covered in Mayo and greasy fingerprints. The soda pop fountain is totally futuristic. You can add different flavors to any of your drinks and they even have 'recipe ideas' for you. That was what made me most excited. The employees unanimously greet each customer as they walk in, however it is a bit intimidating and sounds a bit forced. "Welcome to Firehouse Subs" in your most monotone voice. Average sandwiches. Walked here one afternoon and ordered a turkey sandwich. It was good, it was what I asked for. They have a nice array of hot sauces for you to try at your disposal. At this location, I would say the staff was not very friendly. I only dealt with one person though, so I can't say that goes for every staff member here. I had asked for no sauces on my sandwich. I even asked what sauces come on it and she said "mayo and mustard", and I said "ok I do not want either sauce" and yet my sandwich had mayo on it. I always feel bad when this happens because I hate to waste a sandwich but I hate mayo SO much! So I went back inside (I was sitting at their outdoor tables) and told her "this one has mayo on it". A firefighter themed sub shop. The decor was nice, and the place was very clean. I ordered and Italian sub as this is a good standard that ALL sub shops should be able to get right. Well....that's that problem. My Italian sub was pretty much the farthest thing from what I expected an Italian sub to be. First off, the bread was really good. I'll give them that, but that's about all I can say about this sub. They gave an abundant amount of ham, but it was a honey ham and the sweetness totally threw the flavor off for me. I was also expecting things like cappicola and salami, but didn't notice them there. Perhaps they were, but it was hard to tell from the sweetness of the ham. The Italian dressing that was put onto it also lacked any of the "zip" and "tang" from an oil and vinegar based dressing. It sort had a creamy sort of taste to it. They do have several other options that looked really good, and I completely wish I had gone with one of those. I visited Firehouse Subs for the very first time today and what can I say? I loved it!! The decor in the inside makes for feel like you stepped right into a Fire station. I was surprised to see that my boyfriend and I were the only two customers in the entire restaurant, since I had hear so many good things about this place, I assumed that it would be packed. Of course I was happy to see that it wasn't given the fact that I was so hungry! I built my own sub but was a little disappointed that they only offered white and wheat bread for subs, but it isn't a huge deal to me. I ordered a medium sub combo with a drink and chips and for my meal alone it was $11, which isn't terribly expensive, I always just assume that you are paying for quality. I'm happy to say that I wasn't wrong! The sandwich was delicious and is the type of "everyday" sub that subway should be living up to. The staff was friendly but nothing over the top, about what you would expect. I was happy to see that they also offer catering. I would have rated this a 5 star experience if they offered a few more bread options but I will most definitely visit again. read more

Stopped in with the kids today and they each ordered a kids meal-- sub, drink and some Oreos-- for four bucks. Good deal. The food was good. They transposed the kids' orders (supposed to be a plain ham sub and a turkey/cheese/lettuce sub-- but they gave us plain turkey and ham/cheese/lettuce) and were immediately helpful to fix the mistake, and then gave us a coupon for a complimentary sub in the future for our trouble. This is one of my favorite sub places. There are a number of them further south (Columbus area), so it was nice to see one open up on Strongsville. It's kind of a cross between a Subway and a Dibella's. The subs area always very tasty, but never too filling (at last not the mediums size). The sub is served warm and they ask if you would like a pickle spear on the side. You can get chips or cookies on the side too (I like not being tempted by the choice of fries!)
