Earlier today, I ordered a torta to go, and I ended up extremely disappointed when I got home. It had literally half the meat, half the beans, and half the cheese that it normally does. This was the first time I'd been disappointed with their food, but I decided to call and express my dissatisfaction. I was passed to the manager who handled the situation in the most unprofessional way. I explained the issue to him, and he insisted that my torta today had the same amount of meat, beans, and cheese as always. I disagreed with him, and he responded angrily, "Everybody makes mistakes!" He raised his voice and repeated it a couple of times. It was completely bizarre that he chose to speak to me as if I was the one who'd done something wrong. It's very childish to do a subpar job and then get upset and frustrated when you're called on it. An adult apologizes and pledges to not blow it again. The restaurant was very busy, as would be usual for a Friday evening. We placed our order at the counter with the sweetest young woman behind the counter. SHe was patient and explained all the different options to us. It appeared there was only one other person working in the back. Needless to say, orders were deep. There was a man (we assumed he was a food delivery driver), who was visibly upset at the staff because part of his order wasn't ready. He was getting loud with the sweet young woman behind the counter. The young man who was working in the kitchen came out to have an explaination of the situaiton to the angry man. It took a while for us to get our order. I'd say at least 30 minutes. Once we were called up, we just picked up and left. We didn't check our order before we took off. We got back home in Riverside, unloaded everything, and realized one meal was missing from the order. I decided to call the store to let them know. I spoke to Joey, who identified himself at the night manager. I told him how the young woman behind the counter never lost her cool and how busy the restaurant was. Joey apologized for the failure and offered to make it right. We worked together to come to an agreement where we would come back another day and they would replace the missing meal. We came back on the day we said we would. The young man behind the counter didn't seem to know what I was talking about even though Joey said he'd leave a detailed note. No matter, I had my receipt with me and presented it along with a short story of the situation. The young man placed an order in the kitchen for us. We had our replacement meal in about 10 minutes. Honestly people... be nice. It's not hard. Things happen. Just use the nice words you have in your vocabulary and let the restaurant attempt to make it right. We'll be back. Dave's is good stuff.

First, let me say I had a great meal at Baker's last night…read more I had not been to a Baker's in quite some time because the previous few visits during and post covid the food and prices were terrible. I decided to give them another try because I drive by the Loma Linda location daily and on a whim decided to give them another try. I noticed on the menu they have an unfamiliar item, the "Classic Chicken Burrito" - and one my favorite menu items used to be the "All Chicken Burrito." Before I quit going to Baker's they changed from using two pieces of chicken breast to using a dried out chopped chicken that was just horrible. I asked the friendly cashier, and she told me this burrito has two pieces of chicken breast, red sauce, and cheese; just like the old "All Chicken Burrito." I ordered one and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It took me back to 2019. And years ago when I quit going the bean and cheese burrito had shrunk in size to little more than a tortilla with about two tablespoons of beans and a dozen measly shreds of cheese - completely different than the bulky burrito with plenty of beans cheese I had loved for many years. And because my two long time favorites were both the chicken and B&C burrito, I decided to also get one of these. Again, I was very pleasantly surprised that they seem to have gone back to the old ways. The burrito was slightly smaller than they used to make them back in 2019, but big enough to give me those old times feels. And the beans were just perfect. I love that they are only partially mashed with plenty of whole beans in a thick bean soup. And to top it off, there was plenty of cheese inside. Altogether, I was blown away by how great the items I ate were. I'll definitely be going back. I can't wait to see if the burgers and fries have been revived back to their former greatness.
