My wife and I got subs today and we have visited several jersey Mike's locations all over the East Coast and this is by far the best sandwich we have ever had at one! The lady that built our sub today was an absolute sandwich artist! And the staff was extremely friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and smelled fresh. It was a very positive experience! I love the Oak Island sub shop, but they were closed today and you know what, Jersey Mike's hit! We will now be back! You got me Southport Jersey Mikes! We ordered five subs for lunch at Jersey Mike's in Southport , NC. Everyone enjoyed our subs as the were exactly as ordered and tasted fantastic! The Service was extremely fast as their App listed our pickup time but I arrived 15 minutes early and our subs were ready for pick-up which I found remarkable in the middle of the lunch rush. There restaurant was very clean, well decorated, and had a nice flow. However, the most unique part of my experience was their people. I did not know how to order a Genoa Salami and Provolone sub with lettuce, tomato, sweet peepers, and oil and vinegar for a particular Grandpa as Jersey Mike's APP offered me no options to do so that I could discern. However, the cashier explained to me to pick a #3, and then add in the comments section exactly what our Grandpa desired. Ok, easy enough. But Jersey Mike's did not stop there. One of the young, and very kind sandwich makers came from behind the counter while I was standing in line waiting for Grandpa's sub to be made, and offered to show me in their APP how to order the Salami and Provolone sub. I thanked her but was extremely happy they were all so willing to teach me how to have a better experience in using their App. In my opinion, service does not get better than that. Best of all it was our younger American generation showing me the way. It is always the little things like kindness, and going beyond what is normally expected in a job that makes a customer remember your restaurant. I will not forget Jersey Mike's in Southport, NC as they are truly interested in helping you have the best experience possible when interacting with their team of very helpful of young professionals. Jersey Mike's Subs produces very, very good sub sandwiches. The bread is freshly baked, and the meat is sliced as you stand there. The selection of condiments and toppings is excellent. The restaurant is either eat-in or take-out. It is always very clean and well-lit. The service is quite good, even during crowded periods. read more

This Jersey Mikes location would be AWESOME OR EVEN AMAZING IF THEY COULD HIRE CHIMPANZEES TO RUN THE STORE AND PAY THEM BANANAS! The clowns in their now are unable to write down what you say on a piece of paper and follow it through without a screw up! If you say "NO ONIONS!" Your sandwich will be guaranteed onions unless you watch these morons with a close eye. Believe me I know! It's like babysitting 3 year olds. We've gotten more free sandwiches because of their screw ups... by now we should already own the store. It would be cheaper for the company to hire and train chimps for the job. Earlier today I ordered the #11, which is ham, salami and provolone cheese. The amount of meat on the sandwich looked paltry, so I asked how much meat is allotted for this sandwich. This is what I was told: Ham - 1.75 oz. Salami - .75 oz. In other words, they are charging over eight dollars for a sandwich that contains less than three ounces of meat. That is not even 1/5 of a pound. Of course, when you then load it with lettuce, tomato and onion, it looks more substantial. I will be writing a letter to the company telling them why I will NEVER patronize Jersey Mike's again (which is probably a waste of time), since the meat amounts are issued by the corporate office. read more

For the past 2 times we have ordered takeout they have forgotten to put the main ingredients in our sub in a tub orders. We love Jersey Mike's but recently they are forgetful and for the price you pay you would like to get what you order. The staff at our location is amazing. Even during their busiest times they take the time out to make a couple gluten free sandwiches without cross contamination. We have celiac disease in our home and jersey Mike's is one of the only places in Southport we trust to make a truly gluten free meal. Every time I come in, the staff is polite, personable, and always lives up to the high expectations I have come to expect from them. I ordered an original Italian sub and Mike's way to go. When I got home, there were no seasonings or juice. The sub was very dry and not very good. I couldn't finish it and had to throw it away. When it's crowded, you just have to watch them. Very disappointing. read more

Ordering the food was fine good service, but when I went to pay I had a coupon for a free regular sub, I was told by the owner Kate that I was not welcome to use the coupon that was given to me a week before then tried to guilt me into paying, after talking for a minute she took the coupon and said in a rude manner that I am not able to use a coupon anymore. I then purchased a cookie and added a tip and when she walked away I grabbed my receipt to which she then said I grabbed the wrong one in a rude voice and handed me the right one and said if you want one ask me, in a extremely passive aggressive way. I went to Jersey Mike's in Southport NC tonight at about 6:00 PM. I had in my hand a coupon that said buy one, get one free. I showed it when I was placing my order for two giant subs. I went to pay, and they tried to charge me full price. I again showed the cashier the coupon, stating you pay for the most expensive, the other is free. The response I got from the manager was it was only for REGULAR subs, and not the Giant Subs. There is also one smaller than the Regular. I find this to be very misleading advertising, bordering on a Bait and Switch tactic. Please be aware of this deception, as there may be someone like me, living on a fixed income, or reduced income that goes there to stretch their food dollar, only to be totally caught by surprise by their tactics. Remember, I showed the coupon, ordered my food, never being told that size sub was not included. They did a small discount, but nowhere close to BOGO. Jersey Mike's Restaurant Style: New Jersey Style Subs and Wraps Last Visit: 03/11/18 Ambiance: Industrial Sandwich Shop Takeout without much room to sit down. Stick with takeout. Service: Slow, but that's partly due to cutting the meat as it is ordered. For Kids: Just the standard sub menu with a cookie and soft drink. And buy a large sub and slice it among the kids myself. Hours: 10 AM to 9 PM seven days a week Expense Account: Figure about $10-$15 each. Pay at the register after ordering. Food: All right, I know, this is a chain, but some sites succeed and some don't, and I've never tried Jersey Mike's. Although I grew up with subs in the northeast, these steak and cheesesteak subs do not tickle my tastebuds. Decidedly fresh bread (boasted as baked onsite) appealed to my personal tastes but dwarfed the "famous" Phillie Cheesesteak. Some peppers and onions peeped out of the bread, but cooked so long they were hard to identify. The heavily salted sandwich left me thirsty but not for more meat. Maybe the provolone aged too long. A peculiar sweetness permeated the whole and left a cloying taste behind. Worst, they kept confusing my order with someone else and kept trying to give it away. Part of this delay and confusion probably was due to having opened only a couple of weeks ago. We did order a cold turkey sub "Mike's Way",which meant onions, lettuce, tomatoes, spices and vinegar with oil. It seemed to offer a lot turkey. Though they boast of locally sourced veggies where possible, Mike's selection of toppings could have been bigger. Another boast is for slicing meats as you order which makes for "fresher" sandwiches. Slice as you go will probably slow you down, but I question whether it makes things fresher. Admittedly, store-cooked roast beef and bacon should help freshness some, but processed and smoked meats won't change much if sliced and used within a day or two once refrigerated. After all, man smoked meats to begin with to preserve them longer. Bottom line, I'd give this location at least another month or two to settle down and perfect their craft. For Non-Carnivores: There is a veggie sub and tuna fish for seafood. This is a chain, so choices are limited. Difference Dividend: Try a sub in a tub or a wrap for more veggies and lighter fare. Adult Beverages: fugeddaboutit. Enjoy a soft drink. read more

Very disappointed! This shops only been here about a year and they are already shrinking the size of there subs. I've bought lunch at the Southport store at least 10 times. Last week smaller bread, less meat same price. I won't be back and I'll be spreading the word. Shame on me for not shopping local anyway. Lesson learned. read more

Service is always good. However, two times I have had some thing foreign found in my veggie sub. Plastic in the banana peppers one time and my next visit a metal twisty tie in my lettuce. Ordered 2 large chicken parmesan subs, both had cold sauce, very thin sliced cheese was not melted with what I think was frozen chicken tenders and it was really cold still on the inside when biting into them. Threw them away. Was told by 2 employees including a manager that it is not a good sandwich to order. To late, they refunded the $29 for the subs but it would have been nice to have lunch.
